Woman arrested for putting salt on a burger.

Featured Replies

Methinks people on this thread need to realise she wasn't arrested for the act of spilling salt - rather the act of selling tainted meat - an offence for good reason.

Or am I hoping to much? *runs before the hell-knights smiteth me*

I do realize that, I'm arguing with the law; she broke the law, fine, I know that, I accept that. I'm arguing to which degree the ridiculousness of this particular case applies to the law. I believe this application of the law resulting in arrest was unfair and ridiculous. Thanks to the constitution, this lady will get a lawyer and get set free. Anyway, by law, it's her supervisors fault. I do, however, think that the supervisor should be reprimanded, because she did not order the food to be thrown out.

To be fair, you weren't one of the people I was referring to  . It shouldn't be of any concern though - people being convicted for this kind of thing would worry me. Any sensible legal system would free the defendant and (hopefully) reprimand the pedant of a police officer and incompetent supervisor.

I don't find it too stupid, I'm sure someone would have said this by now:

In Australia, we're fighting obesity, and I don't think any fast food resteurants are alowed to put excessive amounts of salt, or sugar on anything unless the customer asked for it. :x

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Using that logic, we shouldn't care at all about mildly malnourished children in parts of Africa because others are dying of hunger somewhere else. By that logic, we shouldn't care about anyone except the group, or even specific person, who has it the worst. If this is a health issue described in the news article, saying someone else is dying of hunger right now has absolutely zero, zilch, nada relevance to the situation.

Hate the "but it's worse somewhere else" argument. Doesn't work people, at all.

Quick log off the internet. Sell your computer and donate the proceeds to Africa. Better yet re mortgage your house and give that money to charity. Stop wasting valuable time posting on this forum, there is much for you do do...

He is mainly saying that people shouldn't give as much time to these silly news stories when there are serious issues about.

Rebdragon pointed his mistake out to him without the need for personal insults.

A friend to all is a friend to none.

That has to be one of the most pathetic things I have seen in a long time, whatever happened to, here have a free burger, now they are arresting McDonald workers for to much salt. Personally I think this time the line has well and truly been crossed.

There must be more to this story, becuase surely they can't arrest her for just putting salt on a burger, surely?

Maybe she started to back chat or something? (She should of tried to run away, I mean it cant be too hard to run from a cop, and why was he in there anyway? Shouldn't he be on duty or something?

When I worked at Whataburger, I put too much salt on a burger one time. The guy ate half of it, brought it back and said he couldn't eat it due to the excessive salt (I didn't think it was too much).

So we re-cooked him another one.. even though my manager complained. Reguardless, it was a problem solved without the need of heavy fines or jail.

The cop is seriously stupid. So if he got sick due to the salt.. then how could he arrest someone while sick? Apparently he wasn't "THAT" sick at all..

Just another noob cop abusing his authority IMO.
