September 25, 200718 yr http://www.gadling.com/2007/09/19/japan ... -work-day/ The Japanese are an incredibly efficient people. They work harder, stronger and faster than their American and European counterparts, and seem almost allergic to the idea of taking sick days and holidays. With that said, perhaps this is why I wasn't surprised to discover this sign outside a chic bar in Shibuya, advertising a 26:00 closing. Now, although I've never been in the military, I'm fairly certain that after 24:00, the clock is supposed to roll back to 0:00 with the start of a new day. I guess this brings about a simple question: if you had 26 hours in a day, what would you do with your extra time? Perhaps this is the real reason why the Japanese are so efficient. If I had 2 extra hours in a day I would sleep in a little longer. What would you use your extra 2 hours for?
September 25, 200718 yr I'd say 2 extra hours of sleep too Tbfgraphx14Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.
September 25, 200718 yr I want a 26 hour work day... No fair... More chillaxing and Runescape for me, ahhh great times. Meh...
September 25, 200718 yr What difference does it make? I still get tired after x amount of hours after I wake up.
September 25, 200718 yr Taken from the comments on the page you linked: The Japanese do this when something goes past midnight but is considered an extension of the same day. Thus...a movie running from 10pm to 1am would be listed as 22:00-25:00. If there really were two extra hours, I'd get probably get more sleep (obvious one) Last.fm Signature Overlays
September 25, 200718 yr Sleep, sleep and then sleep some more. Sleeping ftw! sleep like dead men wake up like dead men
September 25, 200718 yr It just looks like a way to increase productivity by making working past midnight not seem like such a mental leap (as in going into a new day is more a mental leap than working 'overtime').
September 25, 200718 yr Haha^ Like everyone else here, I would sleep. It would just be like a normal day, cept....longer. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
September 25, 200718 yr Have more free time. I just need 8 hours of sleep and I'm fine. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."

September 25, 200718 yr I'd use the two hours to ask the Japanese what the hell they're trying to do to the space-time continuum. Varrock Library: Shattered Sky | Silent Thunder | The Emperor's FinestAstri @ MythWeavers
September 25, 200718 yr I'd use the two hours to ask the Japanese what the hell they're trying to do to the space-time continuum. They probably just have workers get on planes and work as they fly around the planet. Kind of like an "Around the world in 80 days" effect. Demz crazy Japanese. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.
September 25, 200718 yr I'd spend the extra time sleeping or on the computer. As a side note, some of my friends are in a band named Shibuya. :o Cool.
September 25, 200718 yr I say we should slow down how fast the earth rotates by 4 hours in order to get an extra 3 hours sleep and an extra hour of work with no regard for the drastic consequences it will have on the planet and ecosystem.
September 25, 200718 yr Two extra hours in a day would simply mean 2 hours of free time to me. I already sleep 9+ hours a night (I find I'm far less stressed than last year when I was getting 5-6), and I likely wouldn't use those 2 hours productively for work, so it would probably mean happy times. Rather than 2 extra hours in a day though, I'd rather take the extra month of time gained in a year off :P.

That's hilarious.(no sarcasm) When you mentioned the Dragon Plates I had a sudden vision of a load of gangsters running around in fancy dress yealling "Grim Reaper in da hood!"
September 25, 200718 yr I guess i'd actually go to the gym in the morning, rather than look at the alarm clock see 5.30 am and think well .... that.
September 25, 200718 yr "RayOxide invents a way to stop Craiglowerly making pointless threads." _ Ban Craig! To the point: It's impossible. Just, impossible, unless they flew around the world whilst working (Reb) I dont need a siggy no moar.
September 25, 200718 yr The 28 hour day wins :D . < xkcd comic > Hehehe, exactly what I was thinking :D what a great comic 8-) Everybody hug and spread the love :D
September 25, 200718 yr Now that's efficient! This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
