Lockdown!

I was in gym class this morning and everything was fine. So class ended and we headed back toward the building from the baseball diamonds, only to be stopped by a school administrator. He told us the school was in lockdown and we were to stay at the baseball diamond until further notice.

 

 

 

So we waited.. About 15 minutes later he came back and told us we needed to get to the middle school, fast. The middle school isn't far from the high school, maybe a 5 minute walk at the most. Rumors started going around and it was kind of amusing. So we got to the middle school, sat around in the gym for a bit, then the principle of the middle school came over the loud speaker..

 

 

 

Basically, there was a "dangerous person" around campus and they were afraid he was going to hurt someone or himself. I'd heard rumors of some wierd guy around campus before classes started but I didn't think anything of it until then. So we got stuck in the middle school gym for 30-45 minutes.

 

 

 

After a while we got the word that it was safe to go back to the high school. So we all headed up there. Everything seemed normal until we got up to the school and there was tons of police anda few news crews. A bunch of police were headed out of the parking lot but a few were sitting around questioning people. I don't think they managed to catch the guy, but I think he got far enough away from campus they decided to let us go on with our day like normal.. Only not normal. I have this period off so I was going home anyways and the parking lot was crazy. TONS of students were trying to get home. Some were told to take the rest of the day off, and some are just doing it anyways.

 

 

 

So, I'm thinking of just taking the last 2 periods off and not risking that again if they didn't catch him. There have been gun threats in my school before but I've never been there during a lockdown. I'll post a link if the story comes up online tonight or tomorrow.

We had a "roofer" in our grade school once, all the students were locked in the classrooms for about half an hour.

 

 

 

"Roofer" is the codename for unidentified person. . . The principal came over the PA to say, "The roofers are in the building, they will be transporting heavy equipment, so please clear the halls." Lol, pretty obvious to the older students.

Sounds like my school last year. Except some guy threatened to take his two stepsons, we had to get to the nearest highschool. I don't think everyone needing to go home was really necessary imo.

Went through all kinds of that crazy stuff at my middle/high school. Probably happened once or twice a year. It's happening even more now apparently.

 

 

 

One semi-dangerous lock down we had was a gas-main explosion. They locked everyone out of the building of course, not in :D . Still, after the initial explosion, it was a burning for quite a while, and you could see it from where we were standing. Like a flamethrower pointed straight up going constantly.

And this is what your schools is different than my my school-if there was a "dangerous person", nobody would be told about it, even if school staff saw him...maybe they would call the police(not likley even if he would be in school teritory), most likley they would ask him to leave...and who gives a [cabbage] if there is a dangerous person/hobo/anything else near school...many gids from my school get beaten up and robbed(bye bye cell phone)...not me tho

 

 

 

for you i suggest just doin stayin home and relaxin...

 

 

 

Only time when my school was on news was when somebody sprayed pepper gas all over school 2 days in a row...i coughed so bad...good thing my eyes were ok tho

My school had a lockdown last year because they got a bomb threat. We had to stand in the soccer field for like 30 minutes, then took buses over to the high school while we sat in the gym for like an hour watching Malcom in the Middle on a projector :P

My college last year got a bomb threat. Now, normally I wouldn't care but i lived on campus... had to go off campus for like 8 hours. :evil:

After lunch I came to school just to be told the school is in the lock down, that it isn't a practice and that I need to get into the closest classroom.

 

 

 

I turned around and went home.

 

 

 

School was in the lock down until ~5 pm, and everyone who was inside had to stay there. School went into the lock down because someone got stabbed.

Yea, when that happens at our school it is probably because a nearby bank (5K away) was robbed or something :roll: But it is better than not locking down I guess.

 

 

 

Btw, our school has no windows, so when the power goes out, we get to leave because it is pitch dark :mrgreen:

We have lockdown drills a lot, but we've never actually been in a real lockdown situation. I'm glad that no one was hurt. I know I would be quite scared. :P

When I was in grade 6, 4 years ago, we had a lockdown. However, my class was in a portable and beforethe lockdown had started I had asked to go to the bathroom. The portables are problably around 100Metres from the school and on my way back from the bathroom I could see the Po beating someone with their clubs (forget what their called) on the grass. After watching for about 10 seconds, I quickly ran back to class.

well about 2 weeks ago we had a semi lockdown because a guy up the street robbed a house and he was armed and they couldnt find him so. but in our school a semi-lockdown means that no one can leave or enter the building.

Lol that was one of the funniest things that happened during grade school! I was in art class when he announced it. Good times....

My school had 14 bomb threats last year. No lie. The code for it was "Teachers, please check your thermostats." Pretty obvious after the first one what they meant.

 

 

 

Plus a state prison is about half a mile away from the school. And I'm supposed to believe school is a safe place? :roll:

 

 

 

Edit: Haha checked with one of my friends and he told me it was only 8. So maybe I exaggerated. My bad. :-$

Some weird guy came into my school once with a leaf blower then started blowing air at everyone then ran away 30 minutes later after security came. :P

When I was in fourth or fifth grade there was someone with a gun on the playground of our school, I think he was threatening to commit suicide. The police took him and his gun away.

 

 

 

I remember being mad because we missed our recess because of him. :x

in 6th grade there was a standoff a couple blocks from school and we went on lockdown. The principal locked all the classrooms up and pull curtains over the windows then we hid under the desks for maybe 30 min. We even had police escorts around the school. It was pretty scary.

We had a lockdown once in Elementary school. Some guy had a shotgun and was circling our playground. He got taken down by the cops. My sister had a lockdown, but it was after 2 kids got shot and the gunman was inside the school:

Also, there was an escaped convict doing some stuff.

 

 

 

Then there was a guy threatening to re-enact the VA Tech Shooting and basically called Cheng a loser for not killing tons of people. He was running around UNR supposedly with a gun.
