They are scared of them, they also saw what happened to Japan.

China have nukes aswell you know

Yes but we got more

Having more nuclear bombs doesn't help win a war. After a certain number, it wouldn't matter.

Also, research some more before you post. How do you China ist afraid of nuclear bombs? Nuclear weaponry isn't all-powerful, ya know.

Another thing, if the US attacked China, many countries would be in financial trouble since the largest supplier and consumer are at war.

Yes but having more nukes is like having more muscle. Would you run at a NFL line man(U.S) if you were bill gates or someone(China). It's not smart to do that.

But seriously would anyone think of fighting a war with the U.S?

China may have unlimited troops but they arn't as well trained as the U.S troops. Also if China ever tries anything the U.S would have soo many allies against them it wouldn't be funny.

So Basically I was adding humor.

Another thing, if the US attacked China, many countries would be in financial trouble since the largest supplier and consumer are at war.

I'm guessing you were talking as if China was the largest supplier and the US was largest consumer, but as you can see you are only half right. Yes, China does make up a good part. They aren't the biggest though.

Sure, power is shifting away from Europe and towards East Asia [india and China] over time, but, eh, the Chinese might have a little problem in the future with the whole five-billion guys-to-every-chick thing :-w .

But seriously would anyone think of fighting a war with the U.S?

China may have unlimited troops but they arn't as well trained as the U.S troops.

Please, don't make unfounded claims.

And yes, not everyone is afraid of the US. They may be respectful or at least wary about the US's power and tendency to get involved in international affairs, but I wouldn't be too sure to say that there won't be a country or a group of countries who've had enough.

Industry is safe no matter what though, eventually as the chinese start getting higher living standards (which should happen), factory jobs won't be desirable anymore, which is why we have South America.

1. It's easier to ship from south America

2. Many people know both English and Spanish (and other south american languages)

3. Many companies have already made the switch.

I just saw the last 24 season and the guy on it said exactly the same thing (that China will surpass the US in 10 years). I think they might, given the exponential economic growth in the last few years. My parents are always saying the same thing, China is the next economic superpower. Thats why I'm learning Chinese now, to get a piece of the action \'

Helping others is cool, but when you're putting yourself at a disadvantage, it has just become irrelevant. It's like giving a homeless person your winning lottery ticket. Yes, you feel super duper about being such a great person...But now you live in his box while he laughs at you.
So wait... We build our factories in China and hire well-educated personnel like engineers from India as an humanitarian effort, and not because they can do the same quality work for a fraction of the price?

Nukes have little to do with this subject. This is more of an economic discussion rather than which country can blow the brains out of the other.

Not sure when but when I think when they do become a superpower they will war with America which will start another world war, just a feeling...

Why would they want to go to war with the US? We buy all their cheaply made goods.

Who knows? If it DOES happen, there would be a number of reasons.

What you said is true and I'm fully aware of it, and it has nothing to do with charity...

We give Israel 3 billion dollars a year so they can drop bombs no Palestinian children, for example. Wasted money. We pack Africa with aide and it helps relatively no one. You know, that kind of thing.

I was talking about outsourcing jobs not as a humanitarian thing, but as, like you said, a capitalist thing.

Oh, and on another note...

I don't know why people keep talking about America being attacked by any country at all. First off, a ground-invasion of America would be squashed instantly...We likely wouldn't even have to use our military for that. Both coasts are well guarded by two groups of people with lots of guns...Rednecks on the east coast, and gang bangers and on the west and east coast. Most house-holds have at least one gun. America isn't some Iraqi-shack town where no one can defend themselves. America is a country filled with people who are proud of their country, and those proud people have guns. That point being made, a ground invasion would fail. I don't care how well-trained any countries troops are, they would all die in a most comical fashion...Killed by non-military civilians.

You would have to attack America via air, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that currently, no one tops America's air superiority. So I'm highly doubting that would ever happen either. I'll give the other countries this though - unfortunately, citizens' right to bare arms do not include F-16 fighter jets.

The only real option is Nuclear war, and that's probably not going to happen ever. I believe that only two nukes have ever been dropped as an act of war, and that was by America on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. I am not aware of any more ever being dropped as an act of war, but please tell me if you know of any that have so I can read about 'em. :P Anyways, we have very sophisticated safe-guards for Nukes as well. It's very unlikely that one would ever be allowed to strike the USA with all the safe-guards we have.

If there are anymore "world wars", America is likely to be rather safe...Unless, like...All of our air units and troops are all over the world elsewhere and some country bombs our [wagon] like ninjas.

chinas has quite a bit more troops than us but they could never defeat us unless they got some serious help cause we got Great Britain on our side and many other countries who would fight along side us in time of war but i dont think there will be another war cause the U.S. would prolly go under considering how bad our economy is and the leadership

Yeah it was just hypothetical. China has allies as well you know...North Korea, some parts of Asia, some of the Middle East would help if it was against the US.

That is, of course, assuming that it wouldn't be outsourced to some other 3rd world nation who whole-heartedly do not deserve our jobs and piss us off to no end because they somehow DO have them.
See now, I'm confused. I didn't quite follow how you went from "why are they getting OUR jobs?" to "we shouldn't provide humanitarian aid", and I don't get why you went "how are they getting OUR jobs?" if you already knew why.

Anyway, the US nowadays aren't allies to anyone. It's just that there are a lot of countries who follow the US. It's a tough subject, but Britain never liked what happened in Iraq because of the non-existential WMD. It's probably one of the reasons why Tony Blair resigned, by believing every word of George Bush, we get into a war which frankly the majority of the country never wanted, if only they knew that the WMD was a lie, resulting in boosting his growing unpopularity.

To be honest, if China became a powerful as America and there was growing tension, I wouldn't want to take sides, just prevent any war happening in the first place. The big question is: WWGBD? (What would Gordon Brown do?)

American CEOs aren't outsourcing out of the good of their hearts - they just want to make more money. Stop thinking it's the 80s - China doesn't need that kind of help anymore.

People may say the US has technological superiority (and then bring out all of the fancy weapons as examples), but it's not like the rest of the world's been living under a rock over the past 50 years. China has it's own military technology/secrets too. Just because a weapon isn't American doesn't mean it can't emulate the same kind of effect. And in the end, after you get past all of the gadgets, it's really one man fighting another.

A counter-phobic response, saying that it makes no difference if China does become a world superpower because America is so technologically-advanced, is frankly irrelevant. It makes no difference how many nukes you have or how powerful your army is... the point is you either have to cooperate with 'evil Communist China', or your economy's gonna get hurt in one way or another. As a wise man one said, "Banking establishments are more powerful than standing armies".

You do all realise Russia and China are starting to form connections with each other as well? Both oppose the American-style attitude of, "We're the only world superpower, so we'll do whatever the Hell we like". In fact, there was an incident in Eastern Europe a few months ago, where the Americans were planning on building a missile silo for defensive purposes on former Soviet grounds, which caused Putin to tell the country involved they either went with the Americans and lost the support of Russia, or turned round to the Americans and told them, "No, you're not setting up bases in our country". China and Russia recently worked together to eliminate rebel elements on their border, causing speculation about a possible Chinese-Russian Pact.

The point I'm making is that China is hardly the inferior, backward mongrol country you make it out to be. What's more, it's pretty clear China as a lot of allies in its stance against what it sees as American imperialism. So, no, America isn't impervious to China.

Hehe, I wonder if you've heard the joke that was common around the time of WW2. Here's the jist:

When the German planes fly overhead, the English and Americans duck. When the English fly overhead, the germans duck. When the Americans fly overhead, everybody ducks.

Friendly fire ftl.

But yeah, it's quite unlikely that America and China will fall out as they are both dependant on eachother. But you never know, times change as they say..

Armies and nukes do not really matter if the USA and China had any difficulties with each other. Money is always the important factor, and so economical damages is much more of a threat.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
