I used to quit about 1 time every ~6months because I didin't know what to do. I came back when hunter came out. I hated that skill so i was like hmm i have 25 day of member remaining, what i'm gonna do? Started to do random skill, etc.

tell them to forget about runescape and never play it, or worry about its "boring" weekly updates and holiday events. (reverse psycology ftw :ohnoes: )

When you mentioned the Dragon Plates I had a sudden vision of a load of gangsters running around in fancy dress yealling "Grim Reaper in da hood!"

its a good way to vent racism (in an acceptable way)

Runescape is **** now. 3 Years of runescape and I've seen it crash and burn, RS is full of macros and noobs. And even tip.it is begining to fall.

I've moved on from RS onto WoW And Halo which are both much better.

Yeah, if he doesn't enjoy it anymore, then there's no point talking him into coming back.

Maybe suggest that he keeps an eye on the Behind the Scenes updates, and maybe one day he'll spot something he likes lol.

I've just come back from a 12 month break cause my mate kept nagging me to play again. =D>

sig1t.png

I had stopped playing about two years ago (before that I had quit/restarted many times)

Suddenly a little over a week ago, I felt like playing RuneScape. I don't know why, I just did. I did not even bother playing around on F2P, even if I did it would of been pointless because of the bank. I gave it some thought for a few hours, grabbed my card, got members and got on :)

Moral of the story: you should only play a game if you want to. Don't be an [wagon] and push him into playing it, if you ask him and he doesn't want to: let it be.

Runescaper (off and on) since late 2001

I came back from a 6 month quit this summer. and I just came back because I like playing. :)

I can tell you nearly everyone who "quits" from runescape is usually back in a few months(sometimes longer, though). It's that strange irresistible urge to come back, chat with old friends, excitedly read the weekly updates, all that good stuff.

Unfortunely I see many people have quitting drop parties only to return a few months later with absolutely nothing, forcing them to work up like a youngster fresh off tutorial island! Although I've seen some people who actually enjoy the old feeling of starting poor and working up. :-k

By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .

Make up something really cool that he might like and give it an outragoues requirement.

Like tell him now you can raise a massive army or something to help you in battle if you maxed out combat :XD:

You may recognize me, especially Jessy87. I am a very old player who quit about a year and a half ago for the 8th time or so. I usually had a hard time staying quit, but this time I made it.

Idon't have time for it, simply. With a heavy load of school, need to exercise, practice my musical instrument, do research, and socialize with my friends, there simply isn't time.

I feel nostalgic often, and log in from time to time. But I do it to an empty friends' list, on a free world, where all that I have is of no use.

I sometimes dream of what might have been. Times I could have had.

And then I go one with life.

So, in summary, the reasons I even thought of coming back are:

1) Old Friends

2) Tip.it

3) Updates/Changes

4) Things I never got to do

Reasons for not going back:

1) Time

2) Money

3) Addiction

4) My best friends have nearly all since quit. My only good friend who still plays and didn't remove me from their list is Saidinwot.

If you can name the day, or even the week, that you quit, you didn't quit. You just stopped playing. Trust me, there comes a time when the game just dies for everyone, though it varies a great deal among different players. Sometimes people are just too rash and try to quit before then. Well, a lot of the time, actually, which is why so much of the time people who "quit" end up coming back.

If he doesn't find the game fun, and quit for reasons beyond a simple fast burnout (an occurence that happened to me many a time when I played), then don't bother. It's not going to get him back in the game for half an hour before he feels an incessent urge to log of as fast as possible.

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Well if you have a few minutes of free time, that isn't really enough to go out with your friends and such, you can use it to do a few things on Runescape, which only takes a few minutes to log in. You can also have fun while chatting with friends.

Video Game = Enjoyment

Runescape = Video Game

Therefore Runescape should be enjoyable and not a chore and if he really has no enjoyment while playing, he shouldn't BUT I found if I take a break I feel alot more enjoyment when I come back to Runescape, and I especially like it now because I have only 2hours to play during the weekdays so I play rarely.

I came back after quiting and dropping a whip, 4mil, 200k pure ess, 35 glories, and pretty much all my other stuff but I still had my skills and my enjoyment of Runescape.
