It isn't impossible if you're in build mode you can remove/delete rooms even if there isnt a door there, he could have buillt & rotated, and he can still walk in via buildmode into the questt hallll there was a door there for quest hall.

It had to be purposeful... More fun than rendering your house useless: Create underground rooms that are too far away to be seen from other rooms by deleting rooms leading to it, which makes it impossible for others to find you... :D It costs about 7k if you just use Parlors, but the effect is pretty much priceless.
