SportsGuy
I was wondering if people would like to share tips on saving time in the RuneScape universe....everything from shortcuts to tips like this one: When selling items, convert them to note form in the bank and sell the notes. It should be the same price, but while you can only carry 28 "items" in the slots, you can carry an infinite (?) number of notes, as they are stackable. Or this one: When mining for a certain ore, get as many open slots in your inventory as possible. Even your pickaxe can be wielded as a weapon, so that should save you time, since even one less item in your inventory multiplied out by however many trips you have to make can save you a bunch of trips. Those are simple ones, I know, but maybe the veterans out there can come up with some real time saving tips. pikachu54673
Don't forget to use your teleports, they will help you get around the world uber fast =) Feel free to HYT me in-game =)~~3,483rd to 99 Thieving, Feb 22, 2008~~"There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want." - Calvin (& Hobbes)
Nopheo
Look at the getting around guide on tip.it to save a lot of time. Having all the item teleports helps as walking is definitely the biggest waste of time.
pokexpert
You cannot hold that many items, instead the amount gets to about 2-2.5b (I don't remember).
13_19_16
I like this thread idea :) . I know some pretty good tips, but I can't remember them all right now, so for the moment here're a couple in the same vein (pun sort of not intended) as your second example. 1: When mining a given ore, always wear the Varrock armor that lets you mine double of it at once. When the effect activates you get the full xp for both ores, but you spend the same amount of time mining as for one. The effect usually activates twice a trip (in my experience anyhow), which can reduce the time you spend mining by anywhere from 5% to 10% depending on what you're mining. This translates to huge time savings in the long run - I'm currently in the process of mining ~7k ore, and this effect will shorten the time it takes by over two hours. 2: If you've unlocked access to the fairy ring network and gotten to the Fisher King's Realm in the Holy Grail quest, the most efficient way to mine gold is to use the giant G in the far northwest of Karamja. Take the fairy ring from Zanaris to the code B J R, and grab a magic whistle from the table in the castle to the southwest if you don't already have one. Blow the whistle and run about 10 squares to the giant G, mine to your heart's content, and then run back to the tower and blow the whistle again. You'll appear in the Fisher King's Realm to the southeast of the fairy ring; run north to it, hop to Zanaris, bank, and repeat. . . . Wow, that was longer than anticipated. Kind of ironic that those time-saving tips take so long to explain :P . P.S. @pokexpert - the item limit per stack is 2^31-1, or 2,147,483,647. Chazimcgee
Instead of asking friends how to do things or what soemthing does, look it up on a fansite like tipit and you wil have an answer. SwreeTak
As said above, walking is definatally the biggest waste of time. But everybody can't teleport everywhere. So my tip is to use teleport rings, like the ring of duelling. It is fast and easy, and I, who can't teleport to Ardounge, can use the ring of duelling to come to the western parts of the world map much faster than if I would teleport to Camelot and then go from there. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
RayOxide
:) Don't post on Tip.It whilst playing. Mine in the crafting guild or Rimmington for f2p'ers. I dont need a siggy no moar.
Dragonlordjl
Here's the biggest tip on saving time: Never start playing RuneScape. :anxious: A serious response: for training combat, if you can afford it, Guthans is an invaluable resource. It will says you dozens of hours of banking to get more food.
Yohbilleh
You may think that showing off your dragon/barrows is good, but dont forget it drains alot of energy
RayOxide
Another! Don't worry about Agility too much. It takes too long and is a waste of time, when you can use your time to do alot more stuff. I dont need a siggy no moar.

I agree; just get a high enough level to use the blue dragon tube in Taverly Dungeon and then the skill is fairly useless. The time spent leveling is not made back in the marginal boost in energy gain.
Severation
Don't forget that Enchanted Jewelery can also help you get around the world of Runescape. For example, an enchanted emerald ring gives 8 teleports to either al kharid duelling arena or castle wars. Very handy if you need a quick bank. wurmskin
When RCing through the abyss, always use Super Energy pots - it almost doubles your runecrafting rate at the cost of around 10K GP worth of pots an hour. If you're about to do a quest, obtain all the items needed beforehand to save time running around gathering them when you're doing it. Stay informed; read all the guides you can and when the time comes, you'll have the info you need and won't need to search for any info again. ^ Refresh for a new signature ^
Mamong
Always travel for your activity. If your going fishing, don't wear that heavy Dragon armour. Just wear some light skilling gear. Following the travel theme, travel light. Don't carry every single item that you *may* need. Carry the essentials, keep your pack light and you'll be able to run longer which can be pretty handy. Another tip is to utilise teleports/items etc. Ectophials, Fairy Rings (you don't even need to finish the quest, just start it), teleport spells and enchanted jewellery will always make it much easier to get around the map. You should always have these items in your bank, as these will save you A LOT of time. Last tip, this is for Fairy Rings. Add the locations into your Ignore List if you don't use it. When I played, I put all the Fairy Ring locations I used/needed into my ignore list so they were there and I could use that to find what code I needed rather than having to load up a Fairy Ring map off a fansite. meb
Not being a complete [developmentally delayed] also helps when you want to save time. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. atronic92
Another! Don't worry about Agility too much. It takes too long and is a waste of time, when you can use your time to do alot more stuff. Erm, is this supposed to be sarcastic? :? Agility is a really useful skill. At 1 agility it takes roughly 7 seconds to recover 1% run energy and at 99 agility it takes roughly 2 seconds to recover 1% run energy. Also, agility is a very fun skill to train and the shortcuts are really useful. Getting at least 70 agility definitely should be at least a near long term goal for anyone. More is definitely better, though. Plus, how is training agility different from training any other skill? It is just grinding away like many other skills. Another tip, kinda like what mEb said: Don't mess around or keep jumping from skill to skill. Set a goal for yourself, and achieve it. Get yourself to maximum efficiency and then grind away. Always stay focused on your goal. If the goal is too high, then split it up into 2 or three goals, and alternate with another skill. In tip.it's interview of Zezima, this is one thing that he quoted as his reason for success. He did mess around or switch skills, he stayed focused on his goal. "We will certainly not be gaining money or members with this update. Instead, we are doing this for the good of the game, which is as dear to our hearts as it is to you."- JAGEX, December 13, 2007
leeves
When selling loads of stuff, have a google search window open and run your calculations there. If you use firefox you can get some great plugins so save you time while selling things. I particulally like this one AVZ Calculator It adds a button to the bottom of your browser which you can click and it will load a simple calculator tool... Much faster to use than windows calc :)... Also have a browser open with the RSOF forums open on the market pages and also a tab on the zybez price guide.... hope these help :) ---ps---- The link to that plugin is secure.... no virus, keylogger or trojans etc its from the official mozilla site.... for peace of mind
Peronix
While powermining granite: only have two slots in your inventory open. Once you mine one granite ore, click the next rock, and while mining it, right click the ore in your inventory, and once you're done mining the rock, immediately drop that ore, and click the next rock, then right click the next ore... and repeat. I find this much faster than mining a bunch and then dropping it all at once. Also filling the rest of your inventory with waterskins will save you some runes on humidify. While RCing: position your small, medium, and large pouches in that order vertically in your inventory. I find this way you can empty those pouches much faster. If you have a giant pouch, it dosen't matter where you put it since the former three are usually the only ones you have to empty in sequence. BTW, if you're wondering why you put the small one on top; when you're trying to empty them fast I find it difficult when the small one is on the bottom because it's smaller and easier to mis-click. It's better if it is the first one in the sequence. Also, if you use super energies, instead of using one at the bank, I find you can do more trips/hour if you wait until your run is low and sacrifice one spot to take a sup energy with you and drink it while running to the zammy wizard/to the ZMI altar, or whatever. truffoo
Keep focused on one 'activity set' for as long as possible. Changing to a different activity is usually time consuming. Examples: cut wood, burn, cut wood, burn; fish using all of your feathers before going onto something else; mine 1000 coal before you go off to smelt them. If you only do one load then go off slaying, you probably have wasted time. Always must be taken in context of what you are trying to do of course. Maximusa
When using dueling rings use all the charges except one. Bank it and get a new dueling out. You can later alch the dueling rings (1) to get fr33 cash. You get 7 teleports with each ring and get some cash from alching them. -- Training agility IS usefull. Not training it is the same as saying dont play runescape.. Training it is usefull because it saves using energy pots while training skills such as runecrafting.
