We want OUR GAME back, that we ONCE played!

Featured Replies

Remember when RuneScape 2 started?

The graphics were simple and the handling was simpel, too.

There weren't overpowered weapons like the dark bow, or other weapons.

The feeling was great, you had fun, it was simple to play.

Yea, I know not everything was perfect, but the RuneScape, that we once played was cool!

I remember, when things were expensive and everybody wanted a dragon longsword.

Now:

You can kill a person with 1 hit (example Dharoks when the enemy is under 90-85 HP)

A bow can now shoot 90 with 1 (2) shots.

The interfaces looks childish.

Everything is cheap!! (except rares) A whip costed 6M!! Now its near 1M.

You can not stake much money, if you do a duel with two persons.

I ASK YOU!! DO YOU WANT THE OLD RUNESCAPE GAMEPLAY BACK?

fthedayrsdiem78b46c74e0yq4.jpg

Some people want the old RuneScape back, and some people like the new RuneScape. It really doesn't matter though. It's Jagex's game, not ours. They can do whatever they want to it. If you like it, then play it. If you don't, then don't.

Yes. Not going to happen, though.

Yes, but that doesn't mean to have to bow down to our demands.

If by 'us' you mean paying customers, you're right. If by 'us' you mean the members who are constantly complaining and whining, then for each one of those that quit, 5 people who don't complain join up.

The customers is not always right.

You are overpowered by the sheer number of kids in this game, and they like t00 pawn y3 b00t13.

I liked the old Rune Scape better too, I actually had fun with a rune scimitar, now I rather just do one of the rare unchanged joys of Rune Scape for me: runecraft mind and air runes.

Ehe, you should see those kids on the rants forum. Techically, the l33t kids don't get what they want because it usually gets locked on rants forum.

Before I continue with my thoughts, let me just say this:

Seeing someone believe every kid is stupid and l33t = priceless

Back on topic now: I disagree that the old Runescape is better than the new one. The reason why is because most of their updates were really golden (Pest Control before it got screwed, Security Stronghold, Barrows, Mage Training Arena, etc) and were never in the old RS. Even though some of the stuff has been changed, you still got some old RS (you still have the rune scimmy, runecrafting, fletching, etc.) in it.

We should euthanize anyone who lacks the capability to contribute to society in any way.

Please don't elect this man for president in 2012

Back when the first major updates for RS2 came out people complained about those being too much, that gameplay was being made too different. However, a few months later it was all forgotten and those updates were just accepted as another part of the game. Of course, those things were nothing compared to what we've got now. That process has repeated itself many times over the years, and I guarantee you it will happen this time too. Give it a couple of months and people will have moved on from not being able to stake, the grand exchange, etc. Most of the things you posted about didn't come out that recently anyway, so basically everyone has just accepted them by now.

I know what you mean, but jagex has to make these kinds of "high lvl" updates to keep the high lvls playing (overpowered weapons as you call it). There will never be a way to get back in time so you have to get over it or stop playing. My grandfather wants to be young again, that's never going to happen and he knows that ofcours. But he is happy with what he is and what he can do. That is what you should do. Don't look at the past, look forward! Who knows what cool, bizarre, huge updates jagex is going to add in the next few years.

Computers will never be above humans because we made them.

That's what monkeys used to say about us.

You can kill a person with 1 hit (example Dharoks when the enemy is under 90-85 HP) - At a high risk that you will die if you DH in the wildy. It's still fair, with great power comes great chance of biting the dust

A bow can now shoot 90 with 1 (2) shots. - Uh yeah.... what are the chances of this? Good luck relying on that.

The interfaces looks childish. I don't think so. Everyone looks at the interface and its graphics differently, and I think it looks cool. I'm not a child btw

Everything is cheap!! (except rares) A whip costed 6M!! Now its near 1M. - Well let's see. Greatly increasing supply of these vs steadily increasing demand, well it only makes sense that items will fall in price as more of them enter the market.

You can not stake much money, if you do a duel with two persons. - It's was done for the good of Runescape.

I'd rather take this new RS. If we were revert to any RS, I would choose RSC though.

Change is not always for the best.. I agree that some parts of 'old' Rs2 were far superior to today's counterparts, (Pest Control for example) however most changes, in this case, have been for the better.

I believe you mentioned how simple the game used to be?? Personally, I applaud Jagex's efforts to keep a "simple" clicking game fun and enjoyable for hours....

Overpowered weapons?! Do you notice that the so-called 'overpowered' ones happen to be the most expensive on the market? (Ex. The Godsword for like 50mil) People who have spent many hours of their live earning money have to spend it on something! Who doesn't love seeing their character hit a "70" on someone!? But that is beside the point.. Basically, this high price makes weapons like The Godsword very uncommon indeed.. Now, if such a weapon spawned in Lumbridge garden every four minutes so that everyone could have one for free, then I would call a weapon overpowered. Plus, does Jagex really have to nerf every weapon they come out with?? Just look at what they did to the poor Granite Maul, it's practically useless now..

This adds to another point of mine- the so-called 'inexpensive' items.

Everything is cheap!! (except rares) A whip costed 6M!! Now its near 1M

Here you are comparing apples and oranges. Yes, a whip was 6mil back then, but that was only when it was new and exciting, and there wasn't much other weapons to choose from. Not everything is cheap either- have you looked at the price of big bones lately??

Dang, made a mistake again. Guess I should rephrase that one. I think this should be right: You are overpowered by the sheer number of kids that like t00 pawn y3 b00t13 (excluding the ones that can talk and write normally).

OK, now on topic:

Overpowered weapons?! Do you notice that the so-called 'overpowered' ones happen to be the most expensive on the market? (Ex. The Godsword for like 50mil)

Whell, Barrows items are very strong too, and the price is reachable to many players. I think that' s what the thread starter means, correct me if I' m wrong.

I have to agree on that one. It was the same with the dragon boots, they were very overpriced at the start, now they went down alot.

Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed! (give my guide a read :^_^: )

I do agree with you on the point of the overpowering equipment. I still stick to my guns that we should have kept it with rune armor and dragon weapons way back when. The inclusion of the dragon med was the last straw; and now we have equipment even more powerful than dragon! How much farther can Jagex go? Our characters will always max out at 99hp; so are common one hit kills a thing of the future?

Just seems like the developers are taking the easy way out more often than not; following the blueprint of "Lets make a new strongest monster, and new strongest equipment!" I'm just venting now, you get the point.

You must have forgotten about the godswords selling for up to 100M+, Full Draq and Drag Fire Shield. NOT everything is cheap.

aglipoy.png

Theres really only 2 things ive found wrong with runescape since the new updates

#1 Staking:

You cant stake mills now because they claim thats how gold farmers give gold to the people that buy it. I just wish theyd bring it back, i mean 3k is max for a stake? thats pretty weak Jagex/ and if you get your tourney rank up you can stake more. In my opinion its a waste of time

#2 G.E

I liked this update but some of the price were way to high and way to low/ Even though it is a fast way to buy and sell without any effort, it messed up with alching (Yew long prices) and tons of other prices went way way way down

And explain which prices went "way way down"? the GE doesn't have that much influence, and most of the dropping in price was due to lots of people stock-piling stuff to sell at GE.

Heard that.

Another thing that really 'grinds my gears' is that players of this game, either the 'old school' that have been here from day one or the new ones that have just heard about it from wherever fail to grasp that this is a dynamic game and not a static development.

This means things will change and inevitably those changes will generate either praise/benign indifference/riots in Falador.

If you really dislike your experience of this game that much surely the best thing to do is make a decision on whether your going to devote your leisure time to what is meant to be a fun hobby? Doubly so if you have a fee paying members account.

I cant really see Jagex rolling back the many man years of work and funding that have gone into this game to pacify the people that want Runescape to be a static product.

"Boy, sure would be nice to have some grenades, don't you think you think?"

I love how you empshasized the wrong words...

1)-Jagex made the game.It is theirs and God's(well,I don't believe in him but w/e)

2)-You didn't only play it once...If you did your impression of it is screwed.

Now,I wish I had quoted you,but I didn't so off memory-A whip cost 6m because it was new.Demand and supply theory ring a bell?

The interfaces look childish because you want it to.Go insult the roman temples for looking childish?

Overpowered!?It's called food. Its called prayer. Its called frikknig defence!

Do I want the old game back?Frankly,no.Do you want the stone age back,DavidRode?

Amen, brudda (referring to the 10th commandment)

amen Bruder! (german ftw)

I'm invulnerable to everything, except Lenin and Dragoonson.

That's impossible.

I love people.[/hide]

The number of players, such as yourself, that liked the older version of Runescape is much smaller than the number of players that don't care or like the game how it is.

No matter what updates Jagex makes to the game there will always be a majority of players that will continue paying to play. (Unless they make an update that restricts players from trading with another).

If YOU want YOUR game back, you can keep dreaming.

yeah i wanna go back to the days of 60% of the players autoing and goldfarming and bad graphics

i kno saying this im going to get rants about it so here goes

Im in the middle ground. When i first played it was like 04 or 05 and yes stuff was expensive and great to see. Ei wips, drag swords and armor... And when i became a member the D-chain (I THINK) was over 20m, and goods them selfs were all up in price.... and life was all great and being a lvl 126 was rare to see and amazing that u got a skill to lvl 99..

-But lets think about this Personaly i dont think merchanting was ever important and was stupid, i always prefered good skills and a fun time training and laughing with friends over typing for hours to make millions, i think the grandexchage was good, and the new partyroom changes were needed, and You cant forget the over abundance of skillers and autoers now adays they also help in price drops and the fact that prices droped when the GE came out were as mentioned before in above statement becuase ppl took stuff out of bank to sell (i took out armor to sell just to see how the GE worked) so i think jagedX is perfectly fine in making changes for the better of runescape as they see fit. If ppl are using the staking for money selling and huge stakes, well lets change it so they cant.

!Now i will say that 3k is WEAK, and maby they should rais it to like 10k or something, neways the game is always going to change ppl are always going to find new ways to bend around the rules so jagedX is always going to have to change things as needed for the better of runescape and to keep the enjoyment of playing runescape.

Only when the last wolf is dead,

The last tree is cut down,

The last river dammed

And the last field is paved over, Will humans realize, that we can't survive on money alone!
