ProtoGuy
I'm still interested in "Zombie power". Just put a zombie in a giant plastic wheel with a rabbit or something caged in front of it and it will run(walk/crawl) until it turns to dust. Can't see why it wouldn't work...aside from obtaining zombies that is. Lol zombie hampsters. That is hilarous. And I believe I can officially say that dreaded phrase; Why.... that's so crazy... it just might work! :twss: The only problem I see with it is obtaining zombies which aren't too damaged. Well I mean define damaged. If it can run, itl work. the only thing would be getting the bugger to move at a constant rate. That is one of the advantages of a zombie; it will keep going and going at as high a rate of speed as possible (admittedly slow, but still) until there's literally nothing left to go with as long as you dangle food in front of it. It's why they're such a pain in the [wagon] when it comes to defense and escape. Oh, and it shouldn't be too hard to get them; find a few isolated zombies (alternatively, spear and clear a few from your defenses if you're under siege) and store them in a cattle car or something similar until ready for transit. Then tie them up with your kickass lasso skills and maneuver them wherever. Anti-bite equipment is required for all people involved in this. Sound good? If you use four ropes with a circle in the middle, you can maneuver them extremely easily, since there are four people exerting pressure on the zombie, effectivly making it unable to move by its own will. Seraphi
Since I don't know much about zombies, could someone tell me the effectiveness of these weapons: Rifle- good Shotgun - Suicidal Submachine Gun - No Revolver - meh Assault Rifle - No Meat Clever - Fail Butcher's Knife - Fail Katana - very good Longsword - Alright Spear - Uuuh.... Javelin - No Chinese Crossbow (like the Karil's Crossbow) - Okay, I suppose. Regular Bow and Arrows - No Grenades - God no Pike - Eh. How well is these for sheltar: Hospital - NONONONONONONONOOOOOO Mall - [see above] Supermarket - Alright in some cases. Small corner shop - No. Parking lot - Doubtful. Tank - Good luck finding one. Submarine - [see above] Helicopter - best method of travel, but tricky to find and refuel. Plane - [see above] Car - Standard really. Caravan - Why? Etc... PlzPuddngPlz
Since I don't know much about zombies, could someone tell me the effectiveness of these weapons: Rifle: The standard. Bring a glass scope. Shotgun:only at close range, but then you should use a close-combat weapon, due to realoding times. Submachine Gun: not effective, due to kills/ ammo expended Revolver: the secondary close-combat weapon, easy to find and buy ammo for. Assault Rifle: See rifle. Meat Clever: You have to get too close. Butcher's Knife: see above Katana: a good idea, may be difficult to obtain. Longsword: see above Spear:the only way you could score a kill with this is if you stabbed through the eye socket, so not really. Javelin: see above, add wind and other effects. Not at all Chinese Crossbow (like the Karil's Crossbow): the perfect long-range weapon. A good secondary sniping weapon. Regular Bow and Arrows: Crossbow is better. Grenades: The only way to kill a zombie is to destroy it's brain, so not really Pike: Nope. takes too long to swing/ get back in swinging position. How well is these for shelter: Hospital: Zombies will be brought here before re-animating, NEVER!!!!! Mall: Too many entrances/exits. Supermarket: Big glass windows. Zombie sees you. Zombie walks into window, breaking it. Zombie pursues you. NEVER!!! Small corner shop: If it has a grille/gate protecting the front, may last for 2-3 days against 1-3 zombies. If not, see supermarket. Parking lot: Not at all, no defences whatsoever. Zombies swarm from all directions. Tank: You won't find one, but if you do, the only practical way to kill said zombies is to run over them. Good news is, it'll be practically impenetrable. Submarine: Won't find one, but if you do, (especially nuclear powered) you'll be set until you run out of food/parts. Helicopter: What if your landing place is overrun? What if you have to land? What if you crash? Plane: See above. Car: Roads will be clogged with people trying to escape, too loud. Caravan:What? NO! Etc... Please and thank you, and after I get a good response I can finally start posting =D Some other stuff that I didn't add. Read the zombie survival guide, and World War Z is suggested reading. If you can't, zombies attempt to eat and destroy any living thing they come across, can only be destroyed by destroying their brain, infect through zombie-human contact, and only humans re-animate. (More to be added later). Sig by me, in MS paint, but I'm still working on it. Suggestions appreciated This guide is as concise as a gourmet's handbook with the guidelines of "Pick up fork, stab food, insert into your mouth, then chew". Skull
My take on this. Since I don't know much about zombies, could someone tell me the effectiveness of these weapons: Rifle - Your best friend. A .22 hunting rifle or something like a bolt action military rifle is the best weapon you can have. It presents you with the highest ammo/kill ratio out of any fire arm, and it is the easiest to get ammo for. Shotgun - It's slow to reload which by its self isn't a terrible thing but coupled with it's lack of accuracy and you'll find yourself trying to trying to load with zombies far closer than you want them. Only really useful against 1 zombie at a time and even then shotguns aren't designed with the headshot in mind. Submachine Gun - Assuming we're talking about a fully automatic weapon, the answer is a no. The way a machine gun is used to kill is by tearing through internal organs and slicing through arteries, not by destroying the brain. It has the power to do so, but it lacks accuracy and selective fire. Revolver - They can share ammo with your rifle. However they don't have much accuracy and they have a hell of a lot more recoil. It works as a solid secondary due to the shared ammo, size, and being easy to use. Assault Rifle - With a lot of self control this can be your best friend. Used correctly you have yourself a normal rifle minus the only drawback, reloading. However, due to safety issues, getting your hands on a one is very difficult and even impossible in some places. Along with that, you're likely to panic and go into a "fully automatic rampage." Stick with a rifle as your first choice. Meat Clever - Err, no. Butcher's Knife - See Above. Katana - Yes, but no. Chances are when you buy a "Battle Ready" Katana you're really getting a weapon that will dull, dent or break a few blows in. Even worse, you could get a katana made just to look cool and you'll find yourself in a lot of trouble if you try to use it. If you can find a real, authentic katana then by all means, use it. Longsword - Spear - You would need to stab through the eye socket for a kill. Try hitting a 3 inch diameter moving target forcefully with a 6 foot stick. You won't be able to. Javelin - No. definitely not. You'd be better off with a rock. Chinese Crossbow (like the Karil's Crossbow) - Silent sniper. Something any team should have. Regular Bow and Arrows - Like the crossbow, but worse accuracy and more strength required. Useful for delivering a fire arrow or even to send a message quickly when yelling isn't a good idea (write message on paper, tie to arrow, volley to other person). For that you're best bet would still be walkie-talkies or even hand signals though. Grenades - See submachine gun and include a complete inability to aim and very reduced range. Pike - See spear. How well is these for shelter: Hospital - I think you've got the idea on this one by now. Never, you're better off in your house or even unexposed. Mall - To many people. Supermarket - Display windows make this a bad idea, along with the unprepared flocking to them for supplies Small corner shop - Depends. If it has large glass windows, than it could be a problem. With any metal "fencing" that could go over it, it's plausible. Parking lot - Just a lot of open space. Tank - Good luck getting one. Submarine - See above. Helicopter - See above. Note, it is easier and would be very useful to have. Plane - See above. Car - Road's won't be clear, so you'll have a hard time. Caravan - What? Etc... I'm going to add 3 here since you didn't really have any good transportation here: Atv (Quad, four-wheeler) - second or third best choice. Gives you the ability to go off road, since roads are going to be blocked or at a stand still. Allows you to carry extra gear, but lacks some mobility. Dirt bike - See quad, but makes extra gear harder to carry however, has added mobility and can fit in tighter areas. Mountain bike - Your ultimate form of transportation. It is far faster than any zombie will be, allows you to go anywhere and has something that tops all the other modes of transport; it doesn't need gas. The only real drawback is that a lot of gear would make riding difficult. Please and thank you, and after I get a good response I can finally start posting =D Summary - Rifle, crossbow, revolver, a warehouse, mountain bike. Kiriyama
Somethings people are forgetting. Revolvers never jam, however, they have a low amount of ammo before you have to reload. Most only have 6 chambers, some have 8 however. However, the high power advantage, and never jamming is a large benefit over your standard 9mm, in my opinion. If you must use a shotgun. Use a 20-Guage. 12-Guages have too big recoil, and at the close range, it doesn't make much of a difference in power. Submachine Guns, well, most of them are automatics, so its easier to waste ammo. Stick with Semi-Auto rifles, you use up less ammo. Meat Cleaver, well, attach it to a metal pole, and it make be workable. Katanas? Never use them. Too little range, and I doubt you have the power to drive it through bone. Parking lots. Well, you get the ones that are towered, and the top few floors could be good to defend, if we stock cars over all the ramps on each floor making it hard to access. However, we'd need to make it so raiders cannot access the cars and move them. The last thing we need is a zombie hoarde doing the raiders work in killing us. Wisp
A parking building might be a good idea. Raiders won't be as big a problem earlier on, there will still be plenty of supplies. If you're in a very heavily infested city, and you have enough supplies, raiders wouldn't be much of an issue due to the massive amounts of zombies. Kiriyama
Heh, so the zombies work as a barricade too then. Our only problem is escape when the supplies run out. Though I suppose we could create a farm on the top floor. Denizen of Darkness| PSN= sworddude198

No offroad ability, but it has the other qualities of a dirtbike plus a better ability to carry extra gear. Command the Murderous Chalices! mmmcannibalism
another noted advantage to a parking garage is the very sturdy roof structure; although you would have to build some walls to deal with extreme cold, they dont get very hot during the summer and you have a roof to deal with snow/rain. Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
