ikraz66
It's been a week since it came out, so everyone has had a chance to see how the Grand Exchange works. By now, people may have developed strategies and discovered nice positive things about it. Someone made a thread about finding the most profitable part of the old shops update, and this is the same concept. No matter what the strategy, the most profitable thing is creativity. Since the grand exchange is a first-come-first-served market, only the first person can profit from some of these strategies, so be careful what you tell everyone. For instance, I heard that someone discovered that you can buy giant frog legs for 105 each and sell them to the grand tree for 1k each. I tried to buy frog legs for the past 2 days, and no one sold me any yet... Proud owner of a Quest cape!
Wkw
I don't think the "buy X from ge and sell it somewhere else works. Why would someone sell X if they knew they could get more for it? Yes, some items cost lower then what other places buy them for, but most of those items aren't ever sold! ikraz66
There's other ways to make money from it. I don't mean to pull a Muggi, but I discovered a way (by accident) to merch up to 150k per hour while doing *nothing*. I can even be asleep when I do it. And it involves buying something from the grand exchange, changing it slightly, then reselling it to the grand exchange for 3k more. Proud owner of a Quest cape! qeltar
Ironically enough, nearly every one of these "creative" ideas represents an example of people taking advantage of the ignorance of others, which if the GE worked properly, wouldn't be so easy to do. ego_scorpion
I spent a bit of time thinking about ways of utilizing GE. So far, I have came up with the following. Willows: dont bother, cant sell, price may be dropping even more Maples: dont bother, cant sell, price may be dropping even more Coal: dont bother, cant sell, price may be dropping even more Sharks: dont bother, cant sell, price may be dropping even more Natures: dont bother, cant sell, price may be dropping even more As for selling for profit, buying on GE to resell is out of question. Also, no potion is worth buying on GE and no potion sells on GE, with few exceptions. Here is some of the ideas of what you can do on ge that works. Buy ranarr seeds from people for 15k each and sell on GE for lowest price. Few days ago they were 24k each. This other idea requires being able to make sanfew serum. Buy snapdragon cheap (2-3k each), buy nail beast nails on GE, they are 200-300 each, collect your own unicorn horns and snake weed. Make the sanfew serum and sell those for medium price on GE. Super restore and prayer potions do not sell, however, sanfew serum sells instantly. I will be looking for more ways of utilizing GE and ill post ideas and progress. If anyone has ideas of their own please share them with me :) Viva la merchanting! Shimotsuki
If you buy 1k iron ore and 2k coal from the exchange and smith it into steel bars, you can sell the bars back for around a 200k profit.
ego_scorpion
If you perfer smithing then by far the best thing to do is to collect coal though kingdom. Then, mine your own iron and make steel. Afterwards, you can sell steel bars for big profit OR you can make them into cannon bars for even more exp and an even bigger profit. Also, if you perfer crafting, green and blue dhides, if purchased at the right price can yield insaine incomes. I'd know, I made 1 mil on my f2p pure by tanning hides a few weeks ago. Used to be 200k+ gp per hour. Proud owner of a Quest cape!

ego_scorpion
Ashes have a huge market now because of all the people wanting to level by making serum. Burnt fish also sells for some reason, go figure, wierd people. Here is some other ways of making money. If you collect 100% maples and rest seeds from your kingdom and let it pile up for a while so you get extra stuff, when you collect you can sell most of it on GE for good profit. Unfortunately, it is impossible to sell maples :( ps. magic logs are becoming very popular Game Name: Ego ScorpionParty Hat Sets: 4Bank Pictures: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=712645&start=

There are a few ways to merch using nothing but the grand exchange for buying/selling. I know a few ways, and they all involve taking advantage of idle markets (items that few people buy/sell, but you can easily change to make it more valuble). For instance, I was thinking about trying cavalier masks, not sure how well it works yet. I'm still not ready to give away my best method yet. Proud owner of a Quest cape! ego_scorpion
Lucky you then, I have very large amount of maple and willows and I can't seem to sell them at lowest market value :( Also, just a heads up, but gems are going down in price! Oh and lastly, I dont know of any buy on GE sell in store or buy in store sell in GE type of trades, but I am pretty sure that if any such trade exists they were not inteded and may even be considered an exploit? So I havent really looked for any such deal nor would I post if such deal was to be found, I dont want to give people potentialy dangerous advise. Best advise for GE that I CAN give though is this: There are certain items that do not sell on GE. Things that are extremely over supplied. Best place to buy things at times is not using ge, but at ge. There is always a crowd of people there and you are guranteed to get some good results there. Ill give you example, someone sold me 5500 sapphires there yesterday for less than 200 each, becuase he just wanted them gone. Did I need them? No, but I went and resold them instantly and made some profit. So we both ended up happy. If you have the finances and the patience for that type of merchanting then you will get some good results. I just want to advise anyone who attempts this to be careful and be aware of all prices and rate at which they are going down, not to end up losing your money. I will post other ways of utilizing GE when I find them :) Game Name: Ego ScorpionParty Hat Sets: 4Bank Pictures: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=712645&start=
