lordkrohn1626
It would do nothing! 99 everything but mage. You are like 122. Get 99 mage lvs, 126. 99 everything but summoning, lv126 get 99 summoning? 130? You don't know much about raising combat levels, don't you? Guess he doesn't understand how 99 melees and hp is typically 122 combat, depending a bit on prayer lev of course, 122-126 is usually all prayer. Of course there are players who have 99 prayer before they max melee, so there are exceptions. furthermore, how about we just wait until summoning is released, rather then conjecture on how it might, should, could be. have patience :) RS name: lord krohn Combat 138slayer specific: 103 whips, 38 dark bows and 250+ dragon boots dropped to date.Dragon drops: 5 Half shields, 21 drag legs, 8 dragon skirts, and 9 drag meds dropped to date. Get 99 mage lvs, 126. 99 everything but summoning, lv126 get 99 summoning? 130? What are you talking about? With 99 attack, strength, defence, hitpoints, and prayer, and 1 mage and range, you are level 126. With 99, say, Range, defence, hitpoints, prayer (stats that a 'maxed ranger' would have), and 1 attack and strength and even say 99 mage, you aren't level 126. It's just weird. Dire_Wolf
IF YOU ASK EVERY PLAYER IN RUNESCAPE, THEIR ANSWAR WILL BE CLEAR. COMBAT RULES. WHY NOT FULLFILL A WISH TO THEM AND RAISE CAP BY 3 LEVELS? IF JAGEX DONT DO THIS IN 6 MONTHS THEN IT WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTING. AS FOR THE 3 COMBAT= I DOUBT IT WILL UNBALANCE THE GAME AT ALL. it will be very disappointing to who? you? we all lived with 126 combat as the max since 2002? sorry... asking for it within the next 6months is impractical and ill thought out. to be honest i have yet to see anything in this post to be factual. other then max combat is 126 I stumbled into Runescape late 2002, so don't give me that garbage. Also, that im asking for higher combat is advantage for everyone...i find it odd a fool like you don't want it. As it's lvl 126 who will get the biggest benefitt. I can't see how people enjoy being same old level day after day, i guess it is cause new skills come out. But quite frankly that is a way of forcing players do something they don't like. Example, i hate lvling some skills but jagex forced me to do it , cause i cant acess " benefits" for combat skills a other way. You speak as if i am someone whove just played the game, well i got news for you i am not. I guess your the type of moron who's "NO MORE COMBATS!!! NO MORE!!", whos always against it. But if you look at the fact, every online game that has with adventuring to do have free limit of achieving combat level up. So when people ask for it on RS they say "it will unbalance" , well hell with that. There's always a update that unbalances the game, you will get used to it eventually. Im so sick of this stupidty, you shoulden't be against more combat levels... But strangely enough you are.....rofl . Y? Cause it will unbalance the game, how stupid reason i say. The game becomes unbalanced, and balanced all the time. It's like a "on" and "off" button. P.S: Moron, when i speak, i speak on behalf of everyone. Close this thread moderators please. epeeflecher
I believe that level 99 is enough for most skills (and already too much for certain skills... i.e hunting Hunting? 99 too much? 99 hunter isnt hard at all. Even though i dont have it because well..it's boring :P . But people have gotten it in...a month.
Nenga
Higher then 126? I don't think so. Won't affect my cape though (qp cape ftw) Ponies!
@Dan3HitU
When RS2 was in BETA stages the initial max combat was supposed to be "138" but they changed Magic to be like Ranged, if they had kept the Classic-style mage/combat growing, max level would be 138 now. Summoning (if it's a combat enhancing skill) will be max level 138. I personally don't think it will be, but I hope it is, can't wait to be level 120+ with no Defence rank :) [-- DYNAMIC SIGNATURES FOR RUNESCAPE 3 & OLDSCHOOL 2007 RUNESCAPE --]
Capone_Sabre
Jagex have said before that they can not extend skills past level 99. They wouldn't have released skill capes if they planned to extend it. Maxxing out combat used to be a huge acheivement and take years. Then lots of 12 year olds complained and leveling combat became ridiculously easy and not an acheivement anymore. Do you know what would happen if they were able to increase the level cap? That's right, lots of 12 year olds would complain, Jagex would make training 10x faster again and thousands of people would be the new maximum level. Making the whole excercise pointless. Hurrah. Capone Sabre since April 2001.99 Attack, Defence, Strength and Hitpoints Achieved January 2005. When it still meant something.
Silver_Corner
Tbh, I believe summoning will raise combat level. JAGeX has stated that summoning will have aspects of combat in it. How fair would it be to have a level 3 who could summon a dragon on you? While Jagex said it would help some in combat, they didnt specify which type of combat (PvP or PvE). Most likley Summoning will be simiar to Lunars in the effect that certain spells (Or summons) cannot be cast in the wild. My guess is its main use in combat will be for PvE monster hunting. And is also sounds like 90% of it will be non-combat related. At least thats how the Diary sounded while explaining it. But its all speculation until the actual update comes. SwreeTak
A lot of stuff would happen, and the most of it would be negative. But I don't think that Jagex will let Summoning affect the combat level. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak

Get 99 mage lvs, 126. 99 everything but summoning, lv126 get 99 summoning? 130? You can only get 126 combat if you max prayer, attack, defence, strength and hitpoints.... Actually you only need 98 Prayer with all other maxed melees for 126 ;) But, raising the cap would be a good idea. But I'm more in favour of the non-combat skills being raised over 99, but then you have another problem... Skill Capes. Waste of money to buy if you're 99? Or remove all skill capes and up the level to 126 (200m exp) or something. It'd make the capes rare again.. that's for sure. Or maybe the cape updates itself (dynamic capes?) after 99, It'll have the Skill Icon then a number 99-126 underneath, this would save you buying a new cape every level. Fools_Taco
They should just make hits go to 126. That would increase the max combat lvl and wouldn't break the game to bad. Also player damage is getting crazy in the wild, some extra hits would go a long way. not to mention that getting 200 million hits exp is imposable (for a sane human) anyway. everglades
Actually, JaGEx have said that the only way for them to raise the highest lvl possible would be to reset everyone's char, so if they raised it, you wouldn't see it for a while
meili
Yes but then you would have to raise not just melee but also prayer, range and mage and those are so expensive. Or they used to be when I trained. :P I guess you could PC those nowadays. The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
reaper88888
I'm pretty sure that there's an aspect of Java that keeps numbers from exceeding certain amounts, and besides, chances are that summoning will be a gathering skill... :| There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves. As you can tell from this signature below (provided by LeetScape/LeetSigs): I chose Aclaw because he's 200M Attack Xp. The actual Xp for level "126" is: 171,077,457 Feel free to play around with the signatures if you're wondering what your actual level is (if you're above 99). FooK-A-Ji
Everything in RS is too easy.. So now the only thing left is making "more levels" to gain ... Its obvious that its because EVERYTHING IS TOO EASY. On members anyway .. Punk1991
It would be nice to see an increase in levels, simply for the change. But I'm sure that increasing the regular combats (attack, strength, defence, hitpoints) would anger many people who have worked for years to reach level 99, and 13m exp. They would no longer be able to wear the skillcapes they worked so hard for. And where would it go from there? After level 99, the exp needed for 100 would be something similar to 1,500,000 xp! I think a whole new skill that aids to primary combat all-together is they way forward. I think it's unlikely that summoning would be this skill. The combat would probably rise %30 from 126 to around 160.
Punk1991
I mean c'mon , if p2p had toilets they'd probably wipe you automatically. Had me in stitches. Although I think it's not so much EASY, it's repetative, and anyone with patience will sit and click on 15,000,000,000 goblins to reach 99 strength I think a skill that actually requires some SKILL, maybe knowledge or intelligence would be nice. Even quests these days can be solved so easily with the use of a guide! Which is normally released within 24 hours!

Emp75
Nothing really, its not like this is 1 of those games where u lvl ur stats go up. Things won't get ezier for u to melee if summoning gets ur combat up. A 126 with 99 atk str def hits and pray and 1 summoning will be able to melee a hellhound as ezily as some1 that is 130 with 99 atk str def hits pray and summoning (Just a random combat lvl i chose).
