jak94
i say runescape with wilderness and trades or rune pures will escape #47,984 to 99 fletching 19 , 9 , 08.
hermit2
I've never Pked. I've been Pked though! I would do it if it was a 1v1 situation, but that rarely happens these days from what I've seen as I've 1-itemed run through the wildy. I'm gonna stick around and play the way I've always played, and enjoyed.
LordSmiloid
This is a tremendous change... I've never been a big fan of the wilderness - it's always been "there", annoying to visit, and hard to cross; now I can enter and explore in true fashion; while revenants will certainly provide a scare, you at least know that they are working within the confines of the game engine (even if they do have incredible magic abilities), as opposed to human players who will two-team you and dispatch of you with a few specs of their DDSes. For me, this update actually provides a greater interest to enter the wilderness now - an intriguing organized PK replacement system, and clan wars to boot. However, this is a huge blow to many who favor the old wilderness. While relatively small in number, the classic PKers represent a big influence in the RS food chain. Many players who skill and quest in the safe lands of Runescape may enjoy the changes, but those who push the game to the limits and engage in challenges of the human element are being cut short. berbatovsky
I'm not going to quit in the foreseeable future, its an odd one for me (not the updates the game itself) because I don't really play often(probably 6-10 hours a week, I know thats not infrequent but by RS standards I'd say that qualifies as not often) but am on these boards a lot and am enthralled by the game and any changes that are made. I can't really think of a gameplay change that would make me want to quit, I assume one day I'll just stop playing.
meansk8erern
i may be wrong here and probably skipped out a few lines on whatever runescape makers wrote, or what you guys or gals wrote, but when i played a few years ago in the classic stage, which was always better in my opinion, there was a rule and there probably still is a rule saying u can make more than 1 account, but no interaction can happen what so ever.. or sumthing like that. so why did they promote pking in the first place? because most "pkers" are helped on by their "mains" for armour, weapons, etc. unless they trained their own money making skills which i dont put down in anyway.. or got few hundred thousand gee pees. and now.. im lost, stuck, unknown in whats happening, but im sure most of us are guilty of it. but hey, keep playing by all means, might turn out well in the future to come or end. haha
Nukearcher
finally train def Ranged 101/99, Str 105/99, Att 105/99, Hp 106/99, Def 100/70, Magic 102/
SwreeTak
Why quit? This is great! We will have a lot fewer RWTs and the F2Ps has finally got more bank space! Also, the dual arena is now F2P too. Sure, Pking and merchanting has changed, but there's so much more in RS to do than just pk or merchant. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
Artificial_Doom_Flavor
I am a non-PKer and particularly didn't like killing dragons in the wildy then getting attacked out of nowhere because the guy i was training on drags with suddenly decides to backstab. It's a bit of a biased view I have I know but I have to ask if anyone has tried out the bounty hunter yet before deciding to quit. Although the revenants are extremely annoying still i kind of prefer the wildy this way. Yes. I've tried Bounty Hunter. It's fun for the first five minutes, until you realize people can just camp doors to escape, you never get drop piles, piles can't be shared, there's no single zone, you can attack anyone below or above you (I'm 94 and can attack 56's; how is that fair?), AND IT IS SLATED TO BE A REPLACEMENT FOR THE WILDERNESS. If JaGeX brought back the wild as it was before- EXACTLY as it was before- I would be very willing to suffer through pilejumpers and taggers and teamers and lurers and cries of "no armor noob" and "def noob" and "pray noob" just so I could get out there and have some fun. Not to mention have an actual use for my 57 pure, whom I spend months training and is now absolutely useless except for dueling, which you can no longer make money from anyway. Still enjoying RuneScape?
Machae
I am not a PKer myself but for me the game is still ruined. Apart from PKing think about many of the other things that many people in RS do. Quite a lot of people enjoy merchanting (judging by the fact that World 2 is always full) - but not any more. As the value of an inventory of Laws is a lot more than an inventory of Ess, there will be no more Law Running, or any other kind of Rune for that matter. Fletchers will no longer be able to trade 1k strung bows for 1k logs and 1k bow strings as the value difference will be more than 3k. The same will go for Cookers / Fishers. No more will you be able to trade reasonable amounts of Raw fish for cooked. I suppose that people will adapt and it will encourage you to train your Wood Cutting with your Fletching or your Cooking with your Fishing but for many people this will be a huge change. Personally I started playing RS because my young son wanted to play. I developed my character, made some GP here and there, got a few nice drops now and again and passed a lot of it over to him to help him along. Is that so wrong? I cant see myself quitting as I am hooked and I guess that in time I will adapt to the new ways but for now like a lot of people I am not happy and I thought that as a customer one of Jagex's main duties was to keep its customers happy. jonni
If they make a CW update that's bad, I'm quitting fo sure. Now I'm 50/50. dedicate your idle computer power to a scientific project.
Ghost-Knigth
I'll wait it out. But with their plans on the 3k trade limit I might quit. Because it's simply just too lame. And I feel sorry for the merchanters. Their game is dead too. 99 ranged | 99 magic | 99 defence | 99 hitpointsRemember, it's just a gameFeel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat. Hajutze
IMO if there is going to be limit it has to be +- 10% from grand exchange original price ... (in other words 5 more % cap)
cgc3039
I was never a pker, though it was a pleasant pass-time. I just hate to see the game change so drastically, they really are ripping out the heart and soul of why alot of epople became members and stuck around. I'm not quitting, but this update has made me come to the realization, this isn't the RS of winter 2004, so for the first time since then I've sold all my items (made 217m, never knew I was so rich  ) Hopefully summoning and the January quests will fade away these feelings.. And tell me....was bots/gold-farmers really that big of a deal....would you perfer the current RS or the bot-filled one?
Hajutze
I prefer the curent They removed the mass of players I didnt like - bots and pures (and I realy hope all the pures finaly stop whining and quit the game for good)
cgc3039
I never got the big deal with pure hating either, people like to pk and made an account just for it... From where I'm from that kind of treatment towards soemone who may be better at something then you is called a hater. That asisde, the current I feel is the begining down the path of Runescape Classic (200 people yippe?) <---and as you can see, I've been a member of this forums for quite a long time, but only felt it necessary to point out my opinion on this....I guess some would call it an update. aevojoey
 1. I never liked Pk. (Or combat for that matter.) 2. I was never any good at merchanting. 3. I've only done castle wars a few times. 4. Same with the duel arena. 5. All my skill level are good enough so I don't need to buy raw fish or logs. 6. I rarely died. The gravestones just make death a little easier to get your stuff back. :P The only thing that I can see as a problem for me is I always wanted to be a PMod. Without anyone left to report I will never be one. :( :-k Of course there will be fewer bad people to warrent PMods to even exist. #-o The extra bank space is nice, I have too much stuff. Now I can have MORE. I was about to start getting rid of my gnome food. Now I don't have to for a few more months :
cgc3039
One more point I like to add and get off my chest before I head to school. This update got me mad, mainly because, if they can target something alot of people took enjoyment in, why not another basic....lets say skilling. "What!?! You noob, why would they take out skilling" Well get this, bots do mine essance, woodcut, fish and mine ores. What if with these updates, the bots just choose to focus more on this. Say, instead of 1 bot going 1 task, they create 100 doing varios skills. So what if the "only" way to restrict these bots is to limit the amount of experience they can get per day, lets say 7k per skill. Can you imagine, only beging able to get 7k xp in a skill per day, when currently you can get up to 300k in most? Wouldn't this kill off another large portion of the RS community...the skillers. Who's to say this couldn't/wouldn't happen. Even if you aren't a pker. the idea of something this big being taken out should be acknowledge. P.S. No, Bounty Hunter isn't the same, it's a suicial game meant for clans to pile on single individuals. Hopefully, they'll tweak it to make it more fun but even still, it's not the same. Have a good day everyone, hope my pointless two cents shine new light on this subject *walks away wistling* :-w
Hajutze
if that happen ill just up every single skill I can up to 7k per day then ill go with my cat to kill rats ... there is plenty to do in this game.

culemborg
The thing im gonna miss about the wild is the risk. Thats half the fun about going into it. I was never big about pking but it was fun when i did it. And the idea behind it is too stop trading characters but theres so many easier and better ways that arent going to annoy the entire runescape community. The grand exchange is a good idea but by forcing a price on everything its just killed another aspect of the game. I will keep playing but it won't be nearly as much fun anymore. I agree completly with you. I hated the pk'ers becasue you was always attack when rune running to abbys and doing cluescrolls and when you just want to look around in the wildy but playing against people is still more fun then against animated computer monsters. So i don't like the wildy this way even while i hated the pk'ers. Now its a little boring and just another compuergame for me. The idea that you couldnt take money in the wildy should be more wise (in my opinion). And the bouty hunting is like indians in a reservation. Also bad for me.. i dont't like it.. its just a minigame  And again.. the trade thing is comletly over the top so Will the right man stand up and make right decissions plz?? nafis444
some of these updates dont affect me but i dont think its fair to other players. maybe they should both have bounty hunter and pking. i am actually making better money becasue of the grand exchange now cause the yews used to be cheap for like 300-350, now its 420 ea(max price) :D . i am also happy that duel arena is free players now :). i really like dueling but i have certain times on when i be members.i just think jagex needs realise that alot of ppl are quitting, they have to make drastic changes or theyll have to make it fair...for the players sake. im not thinking of quitting any time soon. Mr_Adam
Change just means I do all those things a little differently than before. Same here, ill keep on runecrafting but maybe a bit easier then i did before this update. :) Aqh88 sums it up right there. Move on people, the game will readjust soon. jedidude77
I plan on keep playing like nothing happended (denile) Since i;m not, and never have been a pker or merchanter, it doesn't affect me, none the less i'm still upset for everyone else. There's no such thing as "wireless." Just really long extension cords.
