Strangely enough, I've seen the opposite effect. I've added 4 people to my friends list, and not one person I know is considering quitting. Right now, all the members servers are PACKED, and there's lots of good people roaming the wilderness for the first time. I've gotten over 200 green dragonhides in the past few days, and not had to give one up to some lowly pkiller. I can't wait to do some nature runeing now.

 

I don't know what some of you are talking about with the new monsters. I've yet to even come close to getting killed. they are a pain to fight, but escaping is easy.

 

 

 

Oh well...a hearty bye-bye to those who only played runescape to prey on people who don't spend 12 hrs a day looking to steal from low level members.

I lost nobody yet since most of my friends are either skiller or f2p or both... They remain considerable unnafected stil. Though for sure they also raise questions about the how and why of the new updates

I couldn't agree more.

 

Still, plenty of people were scammed with the wildy, like "hey drop party at my house, just let me teleport you there", or "I want to die and respawn at Falador...could you please help and attack me", just so the person would get skulled and lost ALL their stuff when thier buddy the lvl 136 mage teleblocks them and they both kill the guy.

 

 

 

Either way, whats done is done and only a few of the millions of members will quit, although I bet most are just whining and will still play anyway.

 

I'm sure it's no bigger a number than the people who lost stuff in the wildy just doing a treasure trail, or killing green dragons, or just plain old exploring and got aggrivated and quit.

If danger ruins a game, then I wonder what keeps pvp-exclusive games like Shadowbane and Guild Wars ticking? :-k Biggest load of bs I've heard in a while. If getting pked once or twice in an area you concentually entered ruined the game for you, more's the loss.

 

 

 

But you're right. A few idiots scammed with the wildy, and a few others got scammed, so it's all good and fair that it's gone now. Now, let's move on - after all, how many people teleother in the barrows? Better remove that minigame... or maybe because of all the dk lurers? Another game hits the dust.

 

 

 

Sure, those methods are outdated, but after all, the item drop changes would have affected the wildy too, so any scamming out there would have been prevented as well.

Wow, a lot of people hate pkers.... Although I agree that pretty much all of them are whiny little (insert word here) who complain about everything you do when you try to stay alive (I've seen so many scenarios where someone was called a noob for praying when it was 3 on 1, and the pker who called them a prayer noob was praying himself) but still, some people were good mates, and it's those people whom this thread is to recognise because we are pretty much all happy with the loss of the pker noobs mentioned above (but not the ones who were actually honourable and respectful, those ones will be missed) and the bots.

I used to bribe my 9 and 13 year old with money and items to do their homework, chores, etc.

 

Or I'd have my son finish a quest I didn't feel like doing in return for a ddp, or something I didn't want anymore that he wanted. :-w

He didn't say every woodcutter was self righteous, and the danger of the wilderness was 'part of the game' seeing as how Jagex put it in with that intent, why do you think they kept putting in incentives to go there?

I actually made more money on GE than I ever did on World 2 (mainly cause I couldn't be bothered hanging around for hours). With GE I can do other things and earn money. Bonus.

I lost no one, besides my beloved gold farmers at green drags who would always lovingly run away from me when I ice bursted them or tried to dds spec them.... those were good times.

It was kind of eerie. The night before that big update came out i was talking to my one good friend on RS and in real life about the good old days of being a lvl 30. And i said as most of our friends in real life where members also, that we should go f2p pking again one last time and camp at the lessers. so strangely the next day pking was forever taken away. So i guess the big thing im losing is my old memories of being thrilled when a guy in full addy and a rune scim came upon my group of 4-5 lvl 40's.
