I made some cash with green bodies, but then I just spent it all on smithing.

Hmm, with the floor prices on items in the GE, it seems like an investment you make in those items is guaranteed to eventually make a profit.

 

The price simply cannot go any lower (well besides -3k), so eventually it will probably go up a bit, and if not, then it can't go any lower...

 

 

 

This is assuming the +/-5% isn't removed any time soon, though

Yes, I have had success with a few items of mine that I have sold over the GE.

I am not Duke_Freedom, so no guarantee. Here's what I can come up with for the near future, based off the recent updates.

 

 

 

If the botters leave for good, that means less raw materials would be available, ie raw material price should be rising.

 

 

 

If there's no gold buyer, less people would be splashing geepee on high value equipment and rares, ie expensive items should be dropping.

Bought bandos chest plate 18.7m in ge, put it back in 19.5m and it was sold the following morning.

 

 

 

Also bought a load of serker rings 2.3m each and sold them all 2.6m on ge.

bought 50k bow strings for 130ea and 50k yew long(u)s for 390 ea just before the update hit. now i check the fourms ppl are buying bowstrings for 160ea :XD: . oh well im not selling gotta fletch and alc for 99 mage \ . lucky too cause natures are still dropping and i can probably buy 50k for 250 ea soon. only losing 100k for 50k alcs is a good deal in my book.

Bought 610k iron ore at 74 each. Sold at 81 each.

I'm thinking about buying 1 million maple logs. If jagex implements this minimum price thing, they might be going up a bit. Every gp they go up would mean a mill for me :-). Only downside is it'd have to go fast. I dont like all my money being put in one item and not being able to sell it.

I have had great success buying cheap raw materials and "adding value."

 

 

 

For instance, its easy to buy logs in the GE, plank them and sell back for a few hundred in profit per log. Cutting your own is more profit.

 

 

 

You can also buy bracelets of clay for 900 or so, mine 28 soft clay and sell them back for 240 each. That's over 5000 profit per load of clay.

Merchanting is pretty much like buying shares.

That's more like investing though.

 

 

 

Merchanting doesn't always involve waiting for the item price to rise, just buying lower than what you could sell for at the moment.

 

 

 

They're similar in the way that you make money from buying items and selling.

I had bought ~50k for training herblore earlier when it was cheap as well.

i made a crazy amount of cash from buying green/blue dragon hides in world 2 fally then selling in the G.E but now the prices have changed in the trade window and there are too many people trying the same thing, Its not worth it anymore.. btw 35M in 3 days.

Probably because of the system. I think you're put into a line.

Not sure, but I'm pretty sure silver ore wasn't worth 189gp each before G.E ?

 

 

 

Cause I bought 7000 silver ores for 1.3 million, not too bad. Smithing + Crafting Xp

several million (iunno how many now...but prolly around 15 million) pure essence purchased for 78 each
