Angelsbane
ive been contemplating if jagex has done the right thing more and more every day since the year started. and even more in the past few mounths, and now with my brother as the only person i know irl who still plays, i just can't see why Jagex does things that harm their loyal costumers all for the sake of stopping someone from breaking a rule. i hated pkers more than anyone else. and yet i still miss them. i was even attached to those little bald people in tan shirts and green pants knowing that they were keeping the price of raw materials low enough where people could train their skills while loseing the minimum amout of gp that they could. on the flip side skillers who gathered these items were loseing profit to these bots and wanted them gone asap. the skillers made up a larger population and so jagex killed not only pking, but decimated staking and crimpled merchanting. the things they did were effective, but overly agressive and have yet to be fixed. even when the problems are all worked out many of the people who quit wont come back. People have given many responses to complains about updates. most of them are basically "stfu and get over it noob" but occasionally some one with half a brain takes the time to answer the question. due to the amount of players quiting, what makes you stay? in my case its the fact that im so addicted to this game that no matter how bad things get i still hang on to one shread of hope that something good will happen. that hope is slowly fading and i dont know how much longer i will keep playing. Zierro
I think the majority of people play to see their friends.
PuppyKing
Games are meant to be played, thats my answer! Blog.
Smackapotato
They didn't make the changes to stop a rulebreaker, they did it to stop the greater majority of RWT and gold buyers. Anyways, this is a game meant to be played and enjoyed, so if you don't enjoy it anymore, I guess you don't need to play it anymore! EDIT - Signature far exceeds our sig limits but since it's so colourful you can keep it.

hybrid2hell
Why not. The game is better now. I engineered this thread with precise variables that I know would cause lul-worthy flames.
Mecakoto
I play because I still enjoy it. I wasn't a big pker, and I get an oddly high amount of joy from fishing. Plus, 99 fishing took forever. Don't want to give it up so soon after I have gotten it. :P Let us not forget friends, to. :P The challenge of a mistake is not to avoid it. The challenge of a mistake is dealing with the outcome. Proud of who I am and what I am.
Sly_Wizard
I don't exactly "Play" the game. Whenever I log in, it's to say a couple of words to friends. Basically, I'm waiting to see what some of these PVP updates Jagex promised us are before I decide to totally quit or not.
Makoto_the_Phoenix
Putting your personal hatred of PKers aside, I play this game because I still enjoy it. Updates change various aspects of the game, but as long as I'm having fun I'll still play it. Not many groups of people outside of RWT really affected my gameplay though. Solidus_77
I still play because very little has changed for me. Pking and staking were things that I was never really too much into. I much prefer monster hunting, skilling, playing random minigames and chatting with friends 76th to reach 99 Construction on 6th of February 2007379th to reach 99 Runecrafting on 4th of November 2007 Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed! monty_chuck
I'm not a pker, staker or merchanter so most of this update didn't affect me. I'm playing because I like the game. Even though some updates are bad it's still the same game where I level up skills, fight monsters and generally have fun, and since that shows no signs of changing soon, here I am. My action packed blog of achievment!
ranging_beast
Well, I don't. I used to pk, I dont really merchant, and I monster slay sometimes and hell those update screwed me over badly. Most of my friend I chat with in IRC channels so I hardly miss anything from quitting. Just the time I wasted on the game are the things im missing. Ilooked at the dragon longsword and said "They have a dragon longsword now??" ohh I'm tired :wall:..., then I noticed a gravestone where our tank was supposed to be and my health was a 1 digit number again. Smi_Mandos
Believe it or not, the game hasn't really changed much for me. I'm not even that bothered about the new price system - I don't mind if it's higher or lower because I know that from now on whatever I buy will be the RIGHT price. It's just a bit better for lazy people like me, because I don't have to log into the forums to get what I want. I don't go in the wilderness enough for the wilderness updates to affect me. Sure, I'm an agility nut, but there are other courses - I've been using the ape atoll one for ages before the wilderness updates. I never PKed so that doesn't affect me... I try to stay out as much as possible, so I'm really not all that bothered about the wilderness. I keep playing because it kills time, it's something to do in between the other parts of my life. It's still fun, it's still just a game and as long as I don't get too bored with it, I'm still going to be playing. RayOxide
I wont resort to offending anyone but.. ITS A GAME, ITS THERE TO BE PLAYED! The better question is; Why are you asking people this? It's obvious the people still playing either 1. Got over the updates 2. The updates didnt effect them 3. They're not immature "Omg I quit 'coz Jagex mak bad dezision" people 4. All of the above. To me it's 4. Honestly I dont understand that the PKers quit. I was sure like 70% of PKers actually had a MAIN account that trains ALL normal stats... :) I dont need a siggy no moar.
