Why does my character dance around monsters?

What I hate the most in RS is when I click on a monster to attack, then my character starts dancing around the monster, and in some cases, the monster dances with me. Then someone comes along and attacks my monster, which I clicked on 15 seconds ago. Then I have to wait for some to respawn.

Thats just a little annoyance in everyday slaying. Does anyone else have opinions/thoughts on the player-monster tango?

Happens in clan wars baaddddd. You'll click on an enemy, and your character will walk around half the area before he reaches the enemy, and by that time, he's already dead.

Yeah, I don't have a cool signature, so the MSSW3 sig will have to do....

I think the dancing skill is just around the corner or long overdue. At different levels you can dance with different monsters & gain exp. Imagine the excitement.

Thanks to WithTheQuickness for the sig!

Yeah this is annoying. So is trying to talk to an NPC when you're right next to them and it says "You can't reach that".

I'm glad (in a way) that its not just me.

Its soooo freaking annoying.

I can remember on innumerate occasions when I was training fishing, "dancing" with Arnold Lydspor, being within 2 spaces of him, dancing then being told "You can't reach that" or similar.

Its almost enough to make you throw a hissy fit.

"Boy, sure would be nice to have some grenades, don't you think you think?"

Monster dancing and the dreaded "double take" are products of the flawed pathfinding system that's been around for years. I'd rather Jagex to just take a month and fix all of the little problems like these in the game, rather than pumping out quests and graphics updates all the time...

try dance with the kq, it wont care and still shoots u. and talking about dancing...i find that it's funny when u click for example, "talk to banker", from afar away, you'll do the moonwalk or the step-slide to get there. and don't forget the follow..lots of groovy moves u can do.

6 years of playing since February 27th 2002

still a classic'er

Wars aren't won by dying for your country, it is won by making the other sons of b*tches die for theirs.period.

yup it really pisses me off when im at metal drags or greater demons on slayer assignments. for metal drags i keep dancing with them and although i try running away a few squares before attacking again it still fails occasionally and a mager conveniently takes over my dragon >.> jagex should really get it fixed...really dumb when i want to kill the monster, the monster wants to kill me and we are dancing around each other. :-w

btw although this type of dancing does irritate my nerves, those people running while following each other around rock columns at castle war waiting area do look quite nice to watch lol now that dance is not bad i'll say.

maxed out melee on 10/10/08, current goal: 94/99 cooking

life may be unfair, but why can't it be unfair in my favor?

my fake plant died because i forgot to pretend to water it

Ig we took a month off, about 100,000 kids would be going insane, ranting that the can't play the b3st g4m3 1n th3 w0r1d.

And the would all go back to having a normal sleeping schedule, and playing outside, and eating healthier. We wouldn't want that, now would we.

This happens at Puro-Puro (impetous impulses) a lot. By time you've got there the imp has flown off beyond a load of crops!
