Sometimes the zombie pirates drop rusty scimitars, which you cannot repair (even in your house's workshop, unlike rusty swords you might find elsewhere in RuneScape) but you can take them to Tindel Marchant in Port Khazard who will identify and repair them (if they're worth repairing) for a small fee.

He found a rusty scimitar as a drop from zombies and wanted to know what it was. Some digging in the KB revealed that it's just like the other rusty swords and armour that you can find.

Rusty Scimitars are different than rusty swords, they came out later and as you can see it was not even entered on the item db

I don't really recall pretending like I'm Jagex staff, I'm just saying it's an old item and I remember getting one once after I did the quest months ago. Anyone who thinks it's for summoning is kidding themselves.

Sorry to rock the boat but... They have NOT been around for years so how could you get something "for years" when they were only released this past year? Rusty SWORDS have been around for years and were rather common to get before they actually had a use by searching crates and other random ways. Rusty swords came out with braindeath island and the horde of zombie pirates.

 

 

 

OT: Maybe its for a zombie! the fiirst posts from Jagex about the "upcomming summoning" mentioned skeltons and demons... maybe you can raise a Zombie Alibaba ? yea probly not.. and even thou there doesnt seem to be any undead or demon based critters this month, there might be in Feb's update so heres hoping to summoning a deadly...IMP!!
