King_Royale
It is 100% FAIR that P2P'ers get ALL the updates. F2P Do NOT pay for the game P2P DO pay for the game Thus, P2P deserve more. And if F2P get what P2P has, thats a load of bullplop, and you know it.
Knitewulf
F2p is considered a demo of the game. If you pay for it then maybe you'll stop whining? 61,358th to 99 range on May 23rd, 2010.100,927th to 99 def on February 13th, 2011.

magician_xy
Oh boy... Another F2P vs P2P thread... Call me when it gets locked. Anyway, I'm really not upset that P2P gets summoning and F2P doesn't. Lke someone mentioned before, F2P got Bounty Hunter, Duel Arena, etc. a while ago. For F2P, that's a pretty big update. No, I'm angry because supposedly, a Jagex Mod told people that summoning would be F2P, too. Now that turned out to be a lie. I hate having my hopes raised like that, only to be crushed because of a lie. Look. It's not going to change, you see. Freeplayers get a cookie while members get the whole cake. That's something everyone's going to have to live with, regardless. BTW, where's my cookie? I never got a cookie. I'm 100% free-to-play!!! Roberthree
F2p is considered a demo of the game. If you pay for it then maybe you'll stop whining? Oh, then maybe Jagex should fix their billing system? I've been trying to buy members for 3 days and they won't accept my freaking debit card. I'm GOING to complain because I'm missing summoning for no good reason.
peteypablo5
the very reason that you are ranting is what jagex wants they cutback features to make members seem more glorious. So just pay for membership if you can't don't whine. It is hard but i am sure jagex will do something later on in the year. just be patient like i am. Duel arena is pretty fun go spend your time there. Or train a skill since that is a great way to make money if you arn't p2p
Locutus_Of_Borg
Wow, let's pray Jagex gives no more updates to F2P since they can't be grateful for what they've been given these past 2 months. Star_Fox
why does jagex have to go and give a new mebers-only skill. there is almost nothing new with f2p and they go and give more stuff to members. thank god that i just sent my members money or else i would go strangle someone :wall: :wall: gave you guys nothing, my foot. they gave you two good pvp minigames, a party room, and even the grand exchange. i say, jagex has made a good and fair decision. upthebanner
The more I read about summoning the more I am inclined to believe that it is f2p that are the lucky ones. As far as I can see summoning is more expensive than construction, harder to train than runecrafting and more useless than cooking. Do I as a pure f2p really want to have another grindfest? I already have problems earning enough to get runecrafting, smith and prayer levels up. So to all you f2p that are upset that they have no new skill I say "Be happy" And to all you p2p that are now encumbered with another money draining, boring useless skill I say "Be happy" Actually I wonder whethewr JAGeX would have made it so expensive if they had realised throughout development that RWT and bots were going to be gone? Cryptogram
ANOTHER member's only skill rant :wall: Well, f2p got the grand exchange and the wildy updates only because they HAD to have it as part of the real world trading cure. f2p got eight more bank spaces which is lots compared to what they have already. Stop whining. F2p deserve nothing more than they have imo. Go p2p or shut up moaning. It's YOUR choice if you want to play rs for free - what do you expect for nothing? Don't follow me. upthebanner
Actually as I have mentioned previously I never wanted this skill to be f2p because it would upset my plans to quit in 6 months but everyone is entitled to an opinion. It is too easy to call someones rant as a whine. What I object to is those people that threaten to quit or carry out an action but then do not follow through. JAGeX now have 9 member only skills that cannot be levelled at all in f2p. If they continue to offer nothing to f2p then there will be too much grinding in members to be done and this will actually put people off becoming members. My belief is that they need to stop these skill updates but instead concentrate on making the game more fun and interactive. They need to explain how skill levels influence the gathering of resources ie why lower level miners sometimes beat higher levels so that players can develop strategies that require real thought and skill. Pking needs to be re introduced as one on one combat is the greatest tests of combats skills and strategy. Summoning is now just one more way to encourage the development of RSI (MEDICAL TERM). I encourage JAGeX to develop along these lines and to make Runescape into something far more like a real world. Please stop dissing f2p that would like more. It is not original nor useful. Instead consider the result if there were no f2p. Everyone is entitled to ask for more. No one has the right to flame the f2p who wish to express an opinion. One last thing for the flamers of f2p out there. Please, before explaining how wonderful you are to pay your $5.00 per month. let us know which of your parents you blagged your contribution from. seraphiii
I can (And Do) Understand why Summoning is P2P only. However, I am one of those who feels that such things as flax picking, fletching up to willows/addy arrows, and other things that are 'Labor Intensive' should be dropped down to F2P, as those who are P2P should have more availibility to these items, and F2P players would rather enjoy making more money (On average) than they do now. At the same time, Summoning should have been at least partly F2P, the first few levels, it would make more sense that way it seems. If Jagex gives F2P player a bit more of a taste of what the cake tastes like, they may choose to pay for it and abandon their cookie, as it were. But frankly, do you have any idea how much Jagex makes off of those ads if you play 4 hours a day, 8 hours on weekends? They make more than $5 a month, I guarentee that. Reason enough the F2P deserves something. And Bounty Hunter is crap, give us the wildy (For another time). Duelling is crap, just do clan wars solo. The 8 bank spaces is nice (Very nice) and considerably more generous than I expected. The grand exchange is neccesary, so more materials can be sold to P2P members who use them more often. Again, Yes, P2P does deserve more. ALOT more, simply for their loyalty and willingness to pay for Jagex's game. However, F2P does certainly deserve more than they currently have, they do still make Jagex money, sometimes moreso than P2P players do. Leaving the payment point moot, the more ads one views, the more money Jagex makes. 40 hours of ads a week is more than $5 a month for jagex. Dont try to deny that. Randox
I wouldnt care if the skill were F2P. It's not like there missing something :( Th eskill is even more expensive than constuction, with the cheepest way to 99 being about 200million gp and probably a couple million slain monsters. The skill is slower to level than prayer using normal bones alone.
Moonshadow
Blah, blah blah, I can bash F2Pers, blah blah blah, they are full of [cabbage] and should go jump off a cliff, blah blah blah, d0s3 stoopeed eff 2 poeerz shuld go dai . P2Pers are much better than F2Pers, they never whine, beg or just rant non-stop about updates like F2Pers do... God, they are so grateful for all they get. You F2Pers should be ashamed of yourself, .!!!eleven!!!1!! Ok, FYI, there was no sarcasm in that... :anxious: I really don't care about not getting summoning. Honestly, I wasn't really looking forward to it and now that it is out, I am not seeing myself jealous and wanting to buy membership to get the skill. It doesn't appeal to me. If F2P got summoning, I would be irritated that the old F2P legends would get pushed off the top 200 list. They would just kind of be erased :S. I am grateful that we got the two minigames. The duel arena is great fun. I don't complain that we can't stake. I wouldn't gamble all of my money away anyways (The only thing that irritates me is the trading cap, but that is another story). Clan wars is a life saver. It is great fun to just go out and do a game of clan wars. I love it. I don't need to be able to summon evil dark post-apocalyptic dragons that will disembowel opponents and torch entire villages at one little whim to be happy. I don't need a jackass to carry around my stuff for me. I am happy with the game the way it is. I accept the gifts we get gratefully and I seldom ask for things. Hell, I know that F2P players won't get a lot. I have accepted that a LONG time ago. Most of us have.
blaah
If you're F2P and wish to complain, start paying or finding a way to get money. If you want to be P2P and can't, that's different. As it sounds like summoning is very expensive and doesn't appeal to a lot of people, it wouldn't make a very good F2P skill because it's harder to make money in the first place to pay for the skill. arrowbld
People like you giving f2p'ers a bad name... If you never expect anything you will appreciate what you get and never be disappointed. We recently got a number of wonderful updates, that is enough to make me happy. :)I fully agree with you, NJE. The updates we got, unexpected as they were, are GREATLY appreciated on my part. I would have liked Summoning, but I never expected to get it in the first place. +1 I was a little disapointed at first but i got over it and got back to clan wars. Harakiri
You are lucky Jagex even gives you the amount of space they give F2P...I have been F2P forever (Except for like 6 months) and have never cared one way or the other about what Nonmembers get... Pay for it...On normal video game demos, they give you one level and then when the game comes out there is a sidequest or something on the same level and you complain: you: Why don't I get the sidequest? Its not fair! Me: Uh, because, I paid 50 dollars for the game, you got the demo in a video game magazine. You damn F2P's (Not everyone, just complaining people) need to figure out that Jagex is going to give you the holiday events and usually one new area or something. 2007, you got way more than that. For paying nothing, they are nice enough to give you new stuff and what do you do? Complain. Live with it. You are F2P...FREE...the people who get stuff are P2P...PAY! That means that they get stuff because they are expected to pay and if Jagex does absolutely nothing for P2P, people are going to quit, making Jagex loose a profit. The morale: P2P get new stuff because they PAY to play. F2P get nothing because they are not giving Jagex money. I think that the whole more F2P bank space thread is all stupid. If F2P people (not everyone just complainy types) cannot figure out that "Hey, we get the bare minimum of updates to the F2P worlds because we don't pay," then please don't play. Either that or live with what Jagex is providing you. Gawd...just settle down. You could not do the wolfs whistle quest anyway because its in Member areas...and what do Nonmembers need summoning for? Its not like we need it to fight the fairly low level monsters on F2P. So in the nicest words I can think of... SHUT THE HELL UP...YOU MAKE PEOPLE SUCH AS MYSELF AND OTHER F2P PLAYERS LOOK BAD. LIVE WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
