Revenge of the Sith

Featured Replies

I saw it last night at midnight

and i sit here right now in class falling asleep at school.

heh

anyways.

I kind of had the similar feeling walking out of seeing Passion, as i did with Episode III. The feeling of, the movie was amazing, but you can't really say it was awesome.

dont read if you haven't seen the movie

Nearly the whole thing was just so DARK! good grief, right off the bat Dooku is beheaded, then out of nowhere all of the Jedi Masters are whiped out. Mace's hand is chopped off then he is electricuted and tossed out a window. Anakin mercifully takes out a whole room of terrified younglings.

very sad. but of course that totally gave the movie its awesomeness of how bad it made you feel for Yoda and Obi-Wan that all of their friends are now dead.

and the scene where Anakin's legs are cut off and he is slowly caught on fire by the volcano and just ungulfed in flames, pretty nasty. now i know why it was a pg-13 rating.

Obviously the best of episodes 1-3

could it be better than 4,5,6? i can't say

its in a league of its own!

^I agree. I came back from watching it an hour ago and it was superb. I liked most of it but it felt like it was a bit too short, I wish the battles were longer. Overall RotS owns. :D

RSN - Ur Enemy, lvl 120 - Back in action!:)

RS Since 2001

I too saw the movie at midnight on the premiere. I must say that although it was lacking, I was somewhat impressed. Being a visual effects artist, I thought the graphics and special effects were awesome. This movie lived up to all expectations as far as the space fights and visual effects. Obviously the acting wasn't that great, but it wasn't so bad where the movie is unbearable.

Too many people complain about Episode I and II. There are many reasons why they are different, but you have to take your own experiences into accord when you rate the success of these movies. Obviously, one of the things more intriguing about 456 was that we didn't know everything about Star Wars. We were first being introduced to these characters and learning the history. Now that we "know it all" we are less impressed with each act we see. Nobody can say anything negative about George Lucas, he is without a doubt the best indy film maker of our time. And possibly for generations to come. So, because of our subjective nature, obviously our criticism of the prequels will be harder than that of the originals, that's just how things are.

I did feel that some of the parts in Episode 3, (as well as some parts in 1 & 2) were very hokey. The first 15-20 minutes I was watching, I felt like I was watching "Star Wars the Comedy." I'm sorry, but R2D2 is not a Jedi, and some of Obi-Wan/Anakin's lines were pretty corny. It seemed like the theater was laughing every 5minutes, something I do not enjoy from this type of movie. I could probably go out and point out every part of the movie, but that would be way too long (as if this isn't already).

As far as plot development, I thought it was pretty interesting. Compared to the other two movies, this one is the best one as far as that goes. In Episode I & II I felt like Lucas was holding my hand down the road of the plot. In Episode III there is a bit less of that, and it definitely makes for a better movie. Alot of this has to do with the corporate side of film making, and how the film is marketed.

Another reason I feel the entire trilogy was "not up to most peoples standards" is because of the fact that George Lucas has been exposed to the corporate bug. Although he started as an indy film maker and did so well with the original Star Wars, his success could have been his "downfall."

As I watched the 3rd movie, I was a bit sad that the trilogy had to end. When I watch these movies I fall in love with the world they are in. I get too attached and I can't help myself, that's just who I am. However, StarWars is over and it was a great ride. Thanks, George. I think we can all say Star Wars has had a very positive impact on all our lives; geeks or not.

Guys...I know the reason why you think this movie is so good. It's because it's the last Star Wars movie and you don't want to diss it. You have to agree the acting sucks and the movie is only cool because of the special effects.

No, maybe we liked the movie. You know, the biggest movie this year. A movie that makes history. A generally good movie.

Do you realise you're making a total [wagon] of yourself in public? You have absolutely no idea who I am, and yet you're making assumptions. I'm not a star wars fan, i'm very broad minded when it comes to movies, and we just happened to go and see it. I havn't been waiting 3 years and queing up for the past two weeks, i've been thinking "Hmn, star wars out soon, mayaswell see it."

Just do us all a favour and stop posting. You're making the topic way more negative than it needs to be and you're not contributing one bit. Stop trying to win a damn argument with someone you don't even know over the internet.

I'm pretty sure we all know that, but that reminds me of a headline in the sun newspaper that was titled: Holy Sith!

Heh, saw it yesterday, and I can say one thing! Do NOT believe Misplacedme. The movie was absolutely amazing, where parts I. and II. partly failed (with some other things than the lame excused Scruffy used, (since when is Star Wars about acting. But I'll get on that more specific tonight because I have to catch the train now) It's got almost constant action, acting isn't very good, not very bad either(for those who care, scruffy  ), and there arn't that much romantic scenes either. This one leaves Episodes I. and II. far behind and gets in line with the original three movies. I'll get a more decent review up tonight, I'm in a rush because I have to catch my train!

8/10

Eager to see what you have to say here 8) All movies are about acting. No matter how good the special effects are (and they are good and we love them) there has to be a human element or we might as well just watch milkdrop make all those pretty colors over the star wars theme song.

I did enjoy the special effects in Episode 1 and 2, not gonna lie. But the little dude in 1 tried to act and couldn't, while Hayden Christenson didn't even try in 2.

"I don't like sand..."

Also, the original star wars trilogy featured people who could actually act, and the movies were better for it. Can't deny that

Anyway, I'm still a star wars fan. I just hope that the good reviews are true so I won't have to suffer some lousy actor ruining a perfectly good piece of sci-fi brilliance.

I quit watching em after Harrison Ford left.

This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.

... i want to see it so bad... stop taunting me!

Why do people go between acting and special effects? neither of them are waht makes a good film. a film is made by its story. no good story, no good film!

No. A movie is made by every single compent which is involved with it.

Some things weight more heavily on it's rating than others. Granted story is up near the top but it isn't the deciding factor. None of them are.

the acting sucked in the original trilogy also, why does everyone complain about the acting in this one? episode III is fricking awesome, and it ties with empire as my favorite of the six.

I'm reading the reviews and it looks like it's not that great...

Well I'm not a Star Wars fan at all, but I really enjoyed the movie. The only bad point of it was that you always kinda knew what was gonna happen since it is only episode 3. But that was to be expected. It's definetly a must see film
