In the long run, you will save so much time on dust devil tasks, you could have made money to pay for those runs 2 fold :roll: Ear muffs are only for banshees, so the mask is pointless. Salve amulet (e). Noseplug is only for spectres, so, yet again, the mask is pointless. Salve amulet (e). Spiny helm and black mask combo is awesome. Its really good if you use the slayer tower shortcuts so you don't have to bring a noseplug running past those nasty spectres! Plus, it looks cool and shows your ability as a slayer to work through tasks.
June 19, 200818 yr I'll admit the defence is great, but the ability to blacklist tasks is much more important that this mask. It looks good and has decent stats but it's not needed. I mean, the whole 5-in-1 thing will only come in handy for the rare Dust Devil task. Thats why i'm blacklisting my tasks before i even start on this mask. Have you actually slayed in the past week or so? I have done 73 Tasks in a Row at Duradel, and so far 10 of those have been Dust Devils. So yeah, I'd say it's worth it. I've been slaying since the quest came out, i havn't gotten one dust devil task yet. Maybe the rate has been increased but nevertheless, it's one task. You really don't even need the attack as they have really low def, so the strength is the only incentive. And the salve ammy (E) is still better at Aberrants. Lol...my god, you really don't know what you're talking about. If you ever killed dust devils you'd know that slash attacks (aka, the whip and godsword) aren't as good against them as stab, so their defense IS higher than other monsters. Before I was able to use the Helmet against them, I had to cannon to make tasks even sort of bearable at Dust Devils, because of all the 0s and low hits I dished out. Now, with the added att and str bonuses, I can happily whip away at them quickly. I guess it's your opinion, but a fool can tell the Slayer Helmet is the best possible reward from the point system. In my opinion, you're wasting your time if you spend your first 400 points on anything else. Lol...My god, you really don't know what you're talking about. Unless your attack level is 50, dust devil's defense is hardly a problem. Honestly I've seen you post 5 times in my entire time being part of tif, and every single one was an arrogant onslaught of [bleep]ing. Stop being an arrogant [wagon] =D> . OT: Answering the question of helmet or blocking tasks first. My vote is on the helmet. I figured that, in the end, I'd get to the mask quicker than when having to do a hated task over and over again. I've done 51 tasks now, got the helmet, the ring (loving it) and 2 tasks blocked.

June 20, 200818 yr It's the extra +30s in defense that matter to me. One of those with Barrows armor and a DFS and a Bunyip, and you can melee most tasks without other healing at all.

Of course it's worth it. 1: Earmuffs+Facemask+Black mask+ Spiny helm+ Nosepeg= Slayer Helmet. 5 items in 1.... 2: Saves you bank space 3: Gives you 15% STR and ATT at all tasks 4: Gives you 15% STR AND ATT at the smoke killing dungeon 5: Gives you acess to Smoke killing spectres, where they are not aggressive, and i think you can cannon them. Either way there is over 40 spectres, usual spot has 7-8 O.O. 6: It looks cool

June 27, 200818 yr For me, the Slayer Helmet, is definitely worth it. Basically, all I do on rs is slayin' and monster hunting. My plan is this: (doing all tasks @ Shilo) -Getting slay helmet (done) -Crafting ur own slay rings (170/300) And then I'm stuck! I'm not really in need to block tasks. I love all the dragon tasks and I haven't done the quest to get Scarabites or Terrorbirds assigned. Sweet huh xP. I'm just getting annoyed of all the dark beast tasks. Got a double dark beast task (181 + 184). Took me 5 hours with cannon. But its still a nice 80k Slay xp from only 2 tasks! But to answer your question: YES, the slayer helmet is absolutely worth it! And I guess I will use Sumona after I can craft my own slayer rings. It looks soooo fast!
