I know a Wiccan family and most of their friends are involved in various strands with the occasional "dark magic" angle. All good people, even the 'dark magic' followers. Self-Imposed titles of status are easily overlooked when you don't believe the magic works. That said, however, there is some aspects of Wicca that I can't get my head around :lol:

I think the whole idea of 'magic' is simply rediculous. The person who thinks she is a witch often speaks to me on the bus and around college, and doesn't relaly disclose much 'information' since it is disallowed in her 'clan'.

My friends, a lot of them, believe in Tarot and runestones and stuff like that. It's really popular. It's a huge fad more than anything. My friend does it. He's also gay and talks about the hottest guys in his favorite volume of anime in the back of History class.

The thing is, nobody talks about their crushes as much as my friend does. Not even the really popular, preppy-type girls. He just announces it to the world, practically yells it, and many times it's describing actual people in my school. He's beginning to disturb the peace. An actual gay person (to be honest I don't even think he's gay) would probably smack him. He's a huge stereotype, and I think he can be a disgrace sometimes.

BTW if they look like they could be, most of the time they are just wannabes who think they are. You wouldn't be able to pick a witch out of a crowd of normal people. Sounds like some of the crap my exgirlfriend would do when she would get drunk. I know a woman that is a witch and she told me there is no blood involved and it's harmless. I fantasize about trying the stuff out with an open-mind to see if anything comes out of it.

 

 

 

And Rushrock, I would be classified as a Unitarian Universalist, which is the only religion that makes sense to me and at least it tries to unite different beliefs together (Atheism, Agnosticism, and various religions and philosophies). They also stand for human rights and are very liberal politically. I believe in choosing your own path and trying out different things.
