Another question how much memory would I need on my computer for TF2 and to add to that do updates require more space.

I have 2gb of RAm, and when I run TF2 it says I use 80%, so 2gb should be fine. Updates do take up more hard-drive space, obviously cause it's new things that you didn't have before.

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

i think he meant how much hard drive space does it take up :-w

I think it's somewhere around 5 gbs. Also some custom maps take up a lot of space. Not sure about the updates.

Just had an epic (for me) game on pipeline 2nd. I went 51-31 as a spy. For me, that is epic. I was playing averagely until I was about 30-25, and then I started getting 6-7 kills per life.

All of it using the dead ringer. Mostly what I would do would be at the top of the stairs on their end of the tunnel, and every so often go down and stab the heavies, soldiers and snipers, then put ringer up and re disguise.

Was sooo fun, I'm happy now. Dead Ringer WTFPWNS!!!!!!

So now riddle me this, since I've collected about 5 dead ringers at this point and can't use it except to get surprise taunt kills, how is it best used? I've been sticking mostly to Cloak and Dagger, but I figure I might as well expand my horizons. The thing is, though, I know what to do behind enemy lines, the problem is just getting there. With no cloak, I'm fairly obvious.

Actually it tis around 7 gb and maps take up a bit of space(my map folder is 1gb). Updates aren't too large though and major updates only come around every few months

It ups your survivability by a ton. You are pretty much invulnerable in buildings with a lot of rooms since if someone discovers you, you can just dead ringer and run away. I've seen whole [16 person] teams thrown into disarray looking for one skilled dead ringer spy.

That being said, i still prefer the old fashioned cloak, the long run time can make all the difference when running away or getting into a base and the ability to collect ammo and sit on enemy dispensers() closes the deal.

Heh I was about to say, does anyone else use normal cloak other than me?

Me and my roomate have been doing spy competitions lately on the PUB server we frequent. It's pretty fun, and we stick to the spycode  :D .

I was camping ontop of the roof today in grannery (IIRC that is the map) on B for a bit as the spy. Took an engi teleporter up there, blew up all his [cabbage], revolvered the scout up there than just kind of chilled and shot at people lol. Someone did eventually notice (wtf there is a spy on our roof?) but it was pretty funny. Also got 5 stabs in a row (like 1s each) on hoodoo, all the while their scout was shouting "SPAH AROUND HERE, SPAH AROUND HERE".

I'm still too random as a spy though, I either do really good or I suck hard.

Thats pretty much what the spy is like.

My friend IRL and I were playing on a neverending 2fort public game yesterday, and he was a spy. He told the other team in chat that he was using the cloak and dagger, and was in their intel. Really he was in our spawn. We stationed a heavy-medic pair outside of each of their spawn areas, and when their entire team went to the intel room, we had a demoman kill them all and a scout take the intel. They were stuck in their spawn rooms until that scout had completed 3 runs to win the game. ::'

Itwas close, we won 3-2, so yay for trickery.

Lol did really good as spy a few minutes ago. i got a thorough beating on my regular server(playing sniper against a 3 man team of all scouts). Had some awesome headshots though :D Then i hopped over to some other server, started destroying as spy. Was like 4 and 1, ended with like 70 points. The team was just smart enough to be challenging but not too smart that i died in 5 seconds from spychecking. Also the fact it was 24 man steel, the best map ever, helped a lot.

On Pipeline 2nd, I just run up the stairs from the spawn (not out the main door) and then across the bridge into the room which connects both sides. Depending on who is in there, i'll either let them shoot me if there's a few of them, and use the cloak to get out of the top on their side, or check the top on our side for snipers. Then I'll go past their top spawn door and into the room which has the stairs down to the track in the tunnel. Generally, if teams are fairly even, there'll be some snipers/heavies/soldiers at the bottom of the stairs, you can easily get at least 2 stabs. Then just put the dead ringer up and run back upstairs. Also, to make your disguise more convincing, if disguising as a spy (which is IMO the best disguise for dead ringer), disguis twice to get the knife as the shown weapon.

If the other team gets wise to you coming down the stairs, then you can easily sap some sentries and get some jump kills around the top. The engineers on this map always stay by their sentries if they are on ground level, but strangely if they are on top, they are 99% of the time left alone.

Also, when dealing with pyros, keep your ringer down, and if they get you on fire, get out of range however you can, then pull up the dead ringer. It extinguishes you, and cloaks you. The reason for this is pyros often keep spraying because if you have the dead ringer up constantly, you go down instantly, and they aren't expecting, so they keep spraying and set you alight again. Using the dead ringer just requires a little more cunning than normal watches, but in the end it's well worth it.

Also, I tend to find dead ringer easiest to use on pipeline, as there are more ways to get behind the enemy. It's harder on goldrush (especially defending), not too bad on badwater. ON dustbowl I found it nigh on impossible.

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

That depends. While i usually prefer original on offense, c&d is amazing on defense.

Yeah, it has its perks sometimes, but overall the original is better.

I just tried the dead ringer on pipeline deathmatch and it freakin owns. 70 kills 56 backstabs 40 destructions 5 dominations and 38 deaths a new personal best.

Oh, but Cloak and Dagger is good for Spy capping.

Is it just me or is the ubersaw attracted to spies? Played a 2fort game yesterday as Medic and every other melee kill was a spy.

Who the hell could you get that close to without dying?

You'd be surprised. I've killed plenty of heavies because they can't keep track of me when I dodge around them.

Haha yeah, I like doing that to heavies with a scout.

I was playing 1 v 1 on a LAN game at my mates place, I was scout and he was heavy, I was beating him because I moved too fast for him. Then he switched to Pyro so I switched to Soldier and we kept swapping around for crazy fun. :D

Not sure why I remembered this now, but it's pretty funny when my roomate goes battle medic. He has a [bleep]ing knack for getting behind our lines and then just ubersawing the snipers to death, pretty [bleep]ing funny really. The blutsauger (sp?) is pretty OP too if you can use it right. Really though nothing is better than turning around and seeing this medic rushing you with a goddamn ubersaw. :P

He does pretty good at it too sadly.

As far as the normal cloak vs cloak and dagger goes, I found that I'm really used to just grabbing ammo now. I can see how cloak and dagger would be awesome in some situations (my roomate uses it very well) but if I need to stay still I'll just hop on top of an engineer dispenser XD. It's gotten so bad though that engis have started just randomly shooting the top of their dispenser on the server I frequent because I've been doing that so much lol. Sit on top of it, wait for them to turn their back and then stab and sap.

Stab and Sap is easier than I thought too, getting used to it compared to sap + stab.

I find both hard. I tend to get behind an engie and his sentry, get my sapper out, then knife, and I hit M1, Q, W + M1. Never seems to work.

I found it easier on PS3 when I had the orange box, pressing R2, then R1 the forward, then R2.

Though I am getting better at sap and stab, though I find it near useless when the engie is standing right next to sentry. Though if both fail, with dead ringer it's much easier just to keep sapping, and when the engie realises he has lost and comes after me, just put up the dead ringer and cloak away.

Hmmm, even if the sentry is facing me, i can still stab the engie and sap the sentry before it does too much damage. Are you using the "q" key to switch weapons?

I played some arena on Granary and uncovered the awesomeness of the Dead Ringer. So useful, and it takes a lot less time to put it down and stab than it does to uncloack and stab.
