I've probably held a half dozen F2P accounts in the past 4 years. If it wasn't for F2P, I wouldn't be able to experiment with pure making or player killing.

 

 

 

At the moment, I have two IDs- P2P Jirenma2001 and F2P endeavorsoul. Both a great and both are fun to use. Why do this? F2P can be a challenge if you play it right.

 

 

 

Ahh, and when I'm too busy to pay for RS, I just cancel my membership so I'm not wasting $5 a month. I just prepare for the cancellation and stock up on about 10k nature runes to use for smithing.

I went to F2P to give an irl friend 1m since he did something for me. I was waiting in lumbridge for him....by the time he got there, I had like everyone following me around like a god because I was wearing an rc skill cape...like calm down :lol:

Well, I'm not bashing members or anything, but aren't you guys the ones paying for an online game. I guess it isn't as bad as WoW, but still. That kind of shows that you don't have anything else better to do than play a game on the computer. However, I was a member for a while too, so I shouldn't be the one to talk. So a lot of f2p's just don't really have time to get their money's worth out of the game.

 

 

 

Even though there have been a lot of updates to the free sites, I think we still need skillcapes or something to show people that we worked to get 99 in a skill.

Not everybody whose a member automatically hates free players and vice-versa. It's the person.

F2P'ers are people who play for free on servers that Jagex pays.

 

 

 

They are players who just started and are still testing the game or players who aren't allowed from their parents to pay money (children).

 

 

 

In my opinion, the real "scum" are players who are allowed to pay and stay F2P.

I've been playing runescape for 5 and a half years for the first 4 years i was a member but now i havent payed for over a year i'm scum.

 

 

 

i've met all sorts of people on runescape and i find that the large amount of them are either one way or the other, i do find a lot of people that are P2P and F2P that either come to F2P to brag and anoy people and F2P players that think they need updates as much as p2p

 

 

 

to be honest i stoped paying because of the updates, updates are all good but if theres 4 a month, a new quest, a mini game and items i see it as to much

 

 

 

i dont want to do a new quest every month, i dont want to go on a mission to get a new item, i dont want to spend a day finding out about a new mini game and playing it i just want f2p

personally i show respect to both players. i personally like f2p because there is more competition in my eyes. in members there is just so many new stuff and i dont feel like i am willing to spend time doing all these. plus i feel that training in f2p is much harder. Yes don't discriminate. Though f2pers do TEND to be less immature, they deserve to be given respect originally.

There is one thing that you can do, regardless whether you're a F2Per or just a person with a low combat level (like myself).

 

If someone comes up to you (or follows you) and types noob, say something like "meh - clicks ignore button".

 

I get so many people saying "aww" and then they run away. (even in P2P worlds)

 

 

 

I have an extensive ignore list from people I just don't want to listen to. Also it cuts down on lag when I'm in GE.

Stating that F2Pers are scum is simply immature. It's not because they chose not to pay for member benefits, that they are freeloaders; they watch the ads after all (which pay for the features they have access to).

 

But the F2Pers demanding updates are just as bad as the P2P victimizing F2Pers: F2P is free (hence the name) so they shouldn't expect updates ... It's like downloading a demo and constantly mailing the developers to ask them to release more parts of the game to the demo.

 

 

 

They don't pay, I understand that and that's their choice, but then they should accept Jagex's decisions.

F2P is a demo version of Runescape to try and get you to pay for Members if you like it. Because of this, I feel there is no reason for extra bank space, minigames, whining and complaining for more updates to F2P, and updates to F2P at all. Period.

 

 

 

Members are Jagex's paying customers, and therefore are entitled to their say in updates. This is also why I feel the Graphics Update and the RWT Update were horrible.

 

 

 

Quite honestly, many F2Pers are arrogant, rude, and annoying. Just like a stuck up pure. There is no reason why they shouldn't be hugely disliked. Back when I was a F2P, there were no minigames available to me, and I didn't complain about how member's got everything. I knew that I was at the bottom of the cycle, and I was fine with that because I didn't feel the need to start paying $5 a month for the rest of the game until I had completed every F2P quest and had the levels to do almost everything possible in F2P.

When it comes to F2P posts, it depends. If it's about demanding things that we really don't deserve, than it's a bit annoying. I, as a devout F2P player, don't think that we really need anything more than what we currently have. It is true, that members do deserve better support etc, but that's because they pay. The majority of F2P players are relatively new to the game, so a lot of them are indeed, rude, arrogent, and annoying. Although a lot of those people wind up quitting soon anyway. Personally, I don't think that there is a particular mind set attributed to either F2P or P2P. Just that certain people in either just behave quite poorly.

You're right. F2Pers shouldn't get any updates since they have to pay naught. If JaGeX bestows updates after updates upon us, the number of memberships would definitely see a decrease. Therefore, to ensure that a steady income is ever-present, JaGeX must and will continue catering to the likes of P2Pers while devoting some minor updates and bug fixes to the F2Ps.

 

 

 

In reply to the topic, I think it's quite justifiable that the members enjoy treating themselves as royalty (and others as scum). Think of it as buying a Lamborghini. You have the financial capabilities to pay for it, you certainly have the right to flash it around.

 

 

 

But still, labeling and associating names with the F2P population isn't a right thing to do. Not for the civilized and schooled anyway. It's true that they don't pay to play a game, most of them (us) probably don't see the need to. It's not an issue of being a freeloader or not, it's whether the option is viable. Sure, there are plenty immature, childish behavior pertaining to the F2P population, but does that make everyone an immature geek? I don't think so.

This is very true. Like i said i for one am f2p but I'm not childish, immature or rude to people. Most (not all) members think f2p's are just stereotypes. The same immature, 10 yr. old who plays a teenage game and is trying to look older the he/she is. All I ask from the current members is please, when saying 'f2p are fr00bs' or '1 h8 f2p!' think of us. The mature, f2p's.

F2P are just as good as members. I do not think all members are bad. Some of them are but only the ones that say "I own you you poor F2Per!". Realy those are members that became members because they didn't understand F2P. F2P is a limited version of the game not an idiot version of the game.

I treat any F2P who understands and respects members as the better version because people pay for it and doesn't whine for updates every time P2P gets one just like a member.

Your both nail on. My opinion is that there are idiots of all shapes and sizes. That includes male and female, Human and non, white and black and most important to this post, F2P and P2P. And not just are there full-time idiots of all kinds but we all are a little idiotic at times. If you say "no I am always acting in a smart way" then just then you are acting like an idiot.

When you began playing runescape you most likely did not know about membership and its benefits. When I started playing I wanted to get full taste of the game before I start paying for it. I went from F2P-P2P-F2P and semi-retired lolz :mrgreen:

All around tif, whenever a subject involves F2P players, it has the chance of turning into an all out flame war. One side argues that F2P players are scum and freeloaders that whine incessantly and demand that Jagex gives them the updates that they feel they deserve. One side argues that the other side is rude and demeaning to F2P players and that they are generalized and victimized.
