Young girls need to realize that men aren't going to magically fall in love with them by giving them sex. And they're seeking attention in all the wrong ways. If you want to take away a 14 year old's dignity to feed your own urges, you need a smack in the back of the head. Go get your older brother or cousin to buy you a porno mag and go solo. Hello is always a good start. But just be yourself. Chances are you will be quite quiet and won't talk that much to them first time round. But second time you see them, you shouldn't have any problems talking to them, and the barrier will be gone.

I had a sort of odd question, and it isn't necessarily about talking to girls, but everyone. Do you all find it weird if you're alone with someone (in a car, walking somewhere, etc.) and they aren't talking? Because whenever I'm with anyone, be it friends or strangers, I can't think of a single thing to say. Sometimes I can think of some random question to ask them, but that doesn't really work as a conversation.

Happens all the time with me. Although I find it easier to talk to strangers. The silence is actually awkward and people expect you to fill it with pointless small talk, which is easy. I also have long silences in the car with people I've known for years. These are ok, because we are comfortable enough with each other and we don't care about the small talk.

 

 

 

Actually, I came home tonight, and on the way I dropped a bloke off that lives behind me. Now we aren't friends, but we are friendly towards each other and such. And I was wondering if there was going to be an awkward silence, just like you're talking about. But we ended up talking for ages, and it all started with one simple question from me; "So what are you doing with yourself now?".

 

Open, easy cliche questions are good.

Oh god, yes, small talk. I hate it. It's really odd how when you meet a stranger, it's sometimes very easy to slip into meaningless conversation and sometimes downright impossible. It makes me wonder if it's a chemistry thing or something. Also, I often find it easier to have small talk with complete strangers than with people I know vaguely (e.g. a friend of a friend).

 

 

 

Anyway, whenever I know I have to go networking and/or meet new people, I really have to peptalk myself into it. I start playing the role of "social Helena", who is slightly kinder, duller and dumber than the real thing. I only unleash my real self on those who I know can handle it :. Sometimes, when I get too nervous, I get into overdrive though, and unleash "hypersocial Helena" on the unsuspecting world... Not good.

Eh, I really like silence a lot of the time. I sometimes think it's a more amiable silence than it is, though, and some of my friends have broken out crying while I was walking with them, because I ain't the brightest.

I'm actually quite the talkative person once I get to know someone at least decently well. If it's a stranger, as long as they aren't quiet and shy there isn't too much silence. Of course, it always depends on who they are (age difference and what not). I also have a habit of asking nosy questions, but most people don't mind talking about themselves.

What her friends think of you two as a couple is often different as what they they think of you. I know, because I liked my best friends best friend, and she said we would be great, but she didn't actually like me (only because I lived too far away :P). I'm not sure of all of it, but it sounds like she sort of does like you. Get one of her friends to ask her what she thinks of you, and if she says she is interested, or something else, go for her.

That sounds about right. If I had a brother, or I was a girl and I had a sister, I wouldn't tell them anything, simply because I know they would relary it to my parents, or tell them.
