Of course every woman is going to have different tastes in men, and they won't always be honest about it. I personally think that more women prefer tall men, but that's not always the case. I say, don't worry about it buddy, height isn't the only factor that's going to make you attractive to someone.

At least I am always honest in everything I say. Half the people that know me hate me for being so frank and honest and most of my friendships start a bit weirdly because of that, but I am known to be trustworthy and a good friend.

Yet somehow I don't get along with girls :D

 

99.9% of the time when people say "people hate me because I'm honest" what they're really saying is "I lack tact and am generally lacking in social graces and awkward in social situations", hope this helps.

And I am not really hated per se, it was a slight overestimation, but I am not a very pleasureable person to be with if one doesn't know me well. New acquiantances say that only two things that I am good at are whining and criticizing.

I am short compared to average men in the area of the world I live in, most women I meet eye to eye with or are taller than me. I've been concerned about my height lately for some reason and I am curious how that would affect the dating scene. Most girls I've talked to say they don't consider it a factor, but I suspect they're saying that along the same lines as "I'd date a guy with good personality, even if he's ugly"...which we know is a lie/loosely-tied truth.

 

Anybody has any experience with this? Does it affect you/someone you know?

 

Women are much more likely to date for personality than men are, except what men generally consider a "good personality" is probably not exactly what women mean.

tl;dr?

Height only matters if you make it matter. You have to learn to compensate for it sure, but as long as you don't let it hinder your experience in life, it won't matter one bit.

Anyways, if it was a total stranger, someone I saw for the first time ever, no. I don't approach strangers. Strangers approach me ;)

If I knew her I would probably approach her to say hi. If not then no, I'd have no reason to approach her.

If you approach her and that happens you've wasted ten seconds and maybe bruised your ego slightly. However it may also succeed and you'll never know unless you try.

I think the sun was effecting her, which is why shes sitting like that. Couldn't tell if the book was for business or pleasure. If she was crying I'd probably ask her if she's alright. If she was face (nose?) deep in a book I probably wouldn't. If she was just sitting there and I had nothing else to do I would probably overthink myself out.

She's not busy. She's waiting for something. No one goes to a school bench/park bench to study or read (unless they're middle aged). She's just trying to find something to fill her time till she has to do what she needs to do. I'd approach her. Sit down next to her and ask her what she's burying herself in.
