Ftp Air rune crafting.

Featured Replies

hi.

I came to a realisation while rune crafting with my lumbridge ring. That instead of walking to and from falador east bank and the altar, I could just use the cabbage teleport on my ring to go from Draynor bank to cabbage field then to the altar cabbage-port back and walk to draynor bank. I timed my runs twice and here are my results:

(in min,sec)

Cabbage-port Way.

1:57

1:57

Normal Way.

1:57

1:58

Now, 2 results is hardly a wide survey spectrum but, it's slight less walking distance so you could run more. So is this the new way of runecrafting?

I have no idea how the ring works but howmany teleports does it have?

ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang m8

It's a tiny difference, so does it really matter...?

Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!

For a few seconds, I don't it is worth all the fiddling and clicking, although I guess it would be a nice change of scenery every now and then for the RCers :)

The potentially tiny difference is balanced out by the annoyance of having to constantly operate the ring. Rcers would find it easier to walk continuously with no interruptions.

Think of it like this. These two methods describe how to reach the air altar.

Falador bank method:

1)Withdraw rune ess

2)Walk to rune altar

Draynor/cabbage teleport method:

1)Withdraw rune ess

2)Operate ring, select cabbage teleport

3)Open gate

4)Walk to rune altar

Actually this way it goes about 25-30 seconds faster ...

Fallador west bank (that's the small one :P ) > cabage tele > air altar > Fallador west bank > ...

I managed to do a run in 1:27 mins.

Runescape and impatient people are like ying and yang, they exist as one, they need each other

ermmm... you are or very slow or just don't know when to click ur map

I did 30 runs of each and falador ended at a average (everything was walking)

Falador: 1:48

Cabbage teleport:1:52

and running is an ever bigger difference (only did 5 trips of each though)

Falador:1:03

Cabbage Teleport:1:13

Depends. Personally i'd choose the 2nd method even if i'd loose time, because with the first method i get bored after like 5-10 minutes :D

If you teleport twice per trip you could save time. starting at draynor bank, cabageport, to air alter, cabageport, to dranor bank.

while its true using this tele would cut down the actually walking/running time significantly it makes a trip take far longer.

Why?

Firstly the extra seconds used in switching to equipment and clicking the ring bring you bk slightly closer in time to normal method

Secondly the teleport animation takes so long that it wastes several seconds and actually puts u behind the normal methods time

Don't forget that the ring also recharges 50% run energy three times a day. With already less running using the ring, you are going to be able to run for alot longer

This is a good point. Even if tele takes longer, you could use the ring to sustain you run energy and running the tele methos is faster than walking the normal way and you could more than make up the time before you run out of run restores. After the charges and run energy are gone, you can do the normal method. Also, since the run distance is less when teleing, even you normal run energy would last longer, so the restroes might actualy give you 3 times the running time of usual rather than just 2.5 times as much.

The teleportation is unlimited, although I can see Jagex putting a restriction on it in the future.

That would stink. :(

Wow..I never knew it was an unlimited teleport.

I'm going to use this as my advantage, as I am crafting 400k rune ess.

"Football is a simple game made complicated by people who should know better."

I would personally wear the ring, but not use it. The ring has a special ability that allows you to obtain a couple of extra air runes per trip. That could add up in time, i.e. RC'ing 1k ess could give you 1k extra air runes, all from just wearing the ring!

F2P for life :D

I have to agree with those who say that the difference isnt enough to make it a viable method of air running, the extra clicking for a few seconds may add up, but i prefer to keep my hands arthritice (sp? lol) free.

as for the extra crafting bonus, its 10%, so if your crafting 1k essence, expect an average of ~90-110 extra air runes when the 1k essence is done. it isnt much, but its basically a free inventory of essence for me (35 rc ftw lmao)

Reverents can be a pain, but you can run away from them. Just curious, do they still have teleblocking ability?

Fear the church, the reverents have 85 magic!!!!

Sorry for not knowing, but what is this ring and how can you get it?

Nobody can control his own life. The best you can do is chose to fill the roles given to you with good people, people who love you.

So even when you did the test and saw that cabbage port is not faster at all, you still think that this could be the new way of runecrafting?

And the answer is No.

It's the explorer's ring from the Lumbridge achievement diary. If you do all the achievements you can recharge your run energy three times a day, cast 30 free low alchs (with mage xp!) per day, have a 10% chance of crafting an extra elemental rune per essence, and teleport to the cabbage patch.

I think I'll try it out. I wouldn't mind extra clicking if it would save even a few second's time.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

I'm sure you didnt read the bottom because it states its less distance so you can use run more, the timed runs were used for comparison to see if it even compares to the normal way.

I strongly doubt that Jagex will put a teleport limit on the Medium Lumbridge ring. Just look at Karamja gloves 3-- those have unlimited teles and pose no problems.

lalalasig2.png

they must have though about it before giving u unlimited teles and i dont see why it has to be nerfed, it doesnt give u crazy xp like pre-nerfed pc
