Dragon Halberd Underrated?

I use my halberd all the time, it's my favourite weapon.

 

 

 

It's good to use at the black demons, and I'm not bothered about how fast it is.

 

 

 

It's my favourite spec weapon and yes, at black demons it's pretty good although the speed does bother me.

Just like the D2H spec. It's like burst/barrage spells and chincompas for melee.

as far as i know (back from when i still pcd) the hally can hit 3 monsters in a row if you are facing the center one.

 

I've tested it many times and I'm sure that you can only hit 2 one side each special

 

 

 

So there is no limit on how many target it can hit?

 

 

 

I mean you can just get like your whole clan to come to house and you spec them all on 1 spot and then woohoo!

 

I don't no how many people it can hit, but I'm sure it can hit a lot :D

I agree, DDS > D hally anyday. The dds is alot faster and all in all i think its just better.

It does not really hit well on high def monsters. On stuff like bork or black demons hally owns it.

I went through the underground pass and ground my eyeballs out in the brimhaven agility course to get it, so hell yes i love it.

 

 

 

I usually dont use it much in multi combat areas, but if i wanna train melee for cheap,i usually grab a hally and head to fire giants, the special annihilates them faster than a whip, plus you dont need to bring armour, food, pots, or really anything you dont want to.

 

 

 

if theres a spot to hally, i take advantage, dds works great on somethings, definitly a godsend vs dragons, but against other boss monsters, its a relatively cheap way to get pretty consistent high hits. dds isnt as acurate, or powerful, its only saving grace against bosses is its poison, its up to you on which you find more useful in the long run. I use the hally sparingly, its nice for spec weapon in pc, knocking off 50+ damage is nice (my stats arent godly so 50's impress me \ )

I find it quite useful. I bring it along most of my slayer tasks, as it's come in handy multiple times when I've only a few left to kill and no food.

 

 

 

For me, it's lack of speed makes up for its power. I end up killing things just as fast as someone standing next to me using a whip or dragon scimitar, so I personally don't consider that a drawback.

 

 

 

Plus, seeing double 30's on a special is always fun...

 

 

 

 

 

Yet double 0s are far more common. And i guarentee that you don't kill things as fast as another person using a Whip when you use your D Hally. If you both are around the same melee skill levels. Because while the Whip and D Scimitar can "afford" a 0 because they're so fast, the d hally cannot.

 

 

 

When a 0 does happen, yes, it's a pain. But, when I use it, I can honestly say that I am killing things just as fast. A friend had a black demon task when I did, so we both went to the Edgeville Dungeon. He used a whip and prayer, and I relied on my halberd. I was killing about the same speed he was. Every once and a while he'd beat me, but I'd beat him other times.

 

 

 

With a whip he'd hit 7s to 14's normally, with the occasional high hit, and on my hits I'd land 23's and 27's. We're one level apart as well.

 

 

 

Now, on certain monsters where a 0 is more likely, I'd agree. But for greater demons, black demons, etc., it's not as likely.

It's speed and inaccuracy let it down for me. I use it sometimes though.

 

Being able to stand a space away and not get hit by melee monsters, double hitting monsters that take up more than one square or in multi hitting more than one monster with the spec is good though.

It's so nice to have for almost all combat. (+i hate ranging and can't afford maging :P) But i LOVE hitting high with it! i'm a supernoob and have hit over 50 :D

It's laziness that makes us choose a DDS over a hally. I tend to use the hally when I've got a GS cos it's just a straight swap or a GWD. The spec is awesome :)

I've known that for a long time, I would use the special on barricades at cw and I would hit multiple barricades. For any two squared+ monster, it is definitely better than dds.

That 40-40 along with a d bow team (you know what I mean Warrior) could cripple any boss monster.

I personally love the d hally. I bring it to just about every slayer task and its very useful. Plus when you hit 27-27 then 24-27, it looks pretty sweet =)

Once I was on my way to the black demons in Taverly dungeon.

 

I got there and a bunch of rangers were like 'oh god heres a noob hes going to slow us all down'.

 

I got ready and 3 hit a black demon with my specials, all hitting like 25+, it shut them up. :

I use the hally on my main all the time, only on PvM though, never on PvP. With the specials I usually 3hit most high level monsters from green drags all the way to black drags. It's very useful.
