August 5, 200817 yr I don't know about you guys but I am sick and tired of these [developmentally delayed]ed not-funny parodies. First it was Epic Movie...it was a bit good, funny at parts because I didn't know what was about to come. Then came Meet the Spartans and I watched it thinking it was going to be funnier than Epic. EEEH Wrong! The same stupid crap as in Epic Movie. There was almost no difference: a stupid [bleep] semi-stripping in the beginning, rap/dance battles instead of actual fighting... Horrible crap. Then came Superhero Movie I think, with Drake Bell. I didn't see this one nor heard anything about it so I hope it wasn't the same as Epic. And NOW we have this Disaster Movie... watched the trailer in the YouTube front page and wow...what a waste of filming. Their comedy is people randomly getting injured out of nowhere and maybe some stupid puns. Why do they continue to make these stupid things so often? Why do people even like them? The bloody title could use some major help too... Movie? What the hell? Why not call the Dark Knight the "Batman Movie" or Star Wars as "The Space Movie"? Negative originality points. :wall: I love parodies when they're well done, like SpaceBalls. But these "get-hurt out of nowhere and laugh" films...? Gimme a break. -.- /rant "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."

August 5, 200817 yr I never liked them in the first place. The only successful ones in my opinion would be the Scary Movies, if you'd count them.

August 6, 200817 yr don't forget the scary movie series. scary movie 1,2,3, and 4. actually, the scary movies are better than the other spoof movies. if i had to rate the spoof movies from best to worst, i would list them: Scary Movie 1-4 Epic Movie Date Movie Superhero Movie Meet the Spartans Each spoof movie has at least 2 or 3 producers/actors/directors/etc. from the Scary Movie 1-4.
August 6, 200817 yr If the "Scary Movies" count, then those are the best ones. The rest suck. My friends, being immature, perverted idiots, love Epic Movie. We did this thing in school where we had to list our favorites...For movie, that's what they put. I guess it's because they've never seen any other movie. :wall: (I should probably mention that they think Mencia is the greatest guy ever.) But yes. I hate them (The movies, I guess possibly my friends). I don't even know why I bothered watching it at my friend's party, my time would've been better spent playing Melee (This was pre-Brawl) by myself. #-o People have to realize that if you try to be funny (As the directors/scriptwriters/whatever are), you will fail. August 7, 200817 yr All of those spoof movies are a steaming bag of [cabbage]. They have the same, completely stupid jokes. I can tell you there will be no plot to that movie. I hope people don't see this movie, so movie producers will stop making these types of movies..
August 7, 200817 yr The Scary Movies were by far the best of these "spoof" movies. I haven't seen Date Movie but my rating for them goes: Scary Movie 1-4 Superhero Movie Epic Movie Meet the Spartans I thought Superhero Movie was pretty funny, it was a lot better then the others.

August 7, 200817 yr I did enjoy Date Movie, but everyone else said that Epic Movie and the rest of the lot (excluding the Scary Movie franchise) was terrible, so I didn't bother.

Negative originality points. :wall: Wow...apparently you completely miss the point of these types of movies. They are meant to make fun of themselves as much as the movies they are parodying. That's why the name the "______ Movie". I think you're taking them way too seriously and if you obviously don't like the genre, why keep watching them!?!? Granted, I haven't seen many of the newer ones, but I find to enjoy paraodies, you have to have seen the originals a lot and know them well. For example, in Not Another Teen Movie, if you haven't seen movies like Breakfast Club, She's All that, Sixteen Candles, etc. you won't get any of the jokes. Anyway, I don't think any of the actors or directors of these movies have any disillusions of winning oscars. To say you hate em just seems like another bandwagon to jump on.

No, actually they are horrible and are just jumping on the "LOL RANDOM" bandwagon all the kids seem to think is so funny these days. Why try and make a good comedy if you can just throw in the most absurd thing someone has ever seen and have people eat it up?

Many of my friends hated all those movies. I haven't seen a decent comedy in forever. I would like to, it'd be nice to have a few laughs.
