Awesome boxing day sales today.

Picked up a 4GB XBOX 360 with Kinect and a $30 HDMI cable for 400 NZD :thumbup: And Gears of War and Halo 3 for 50. :thumbup:

Good thing you didn't go out and waste your money on the fancy cables. At shorter distances there's no difference, yet people will still shell like $200 on HDMI cables.

 

I know it's ridiculous. Especially monster cables.

I was just going to get a cheap $5 one off eBay instead, if it didn't come free.

What cables do I need to hook a windows 7 laptop to a TV, and how much do they cost?

What happened to that thread with the South American guy with no computer? It just disappeared overnight/morning (while I was sleeping). I guess it happens like that in those third world countries.

 

Anyways, today it's snowing, and it will be tomorrow too with a bit of luck. I have to go meet some British relatives, then not go on my trip to see relatives in New York tomorrow because of the snow.

What the [bleep] PayPal.

 

I won a dispute where I never received the items I paid for, and the email I got from PayPal said this "You have indicated that a partial refund of 0 would be satisfactory." I thought this was just an email error. I log into PayPal and sure enough, I had $0.00 and the dispute states I received a refund. Their email system is really messed up so I hope it ends up in the hands of someone who will solve this issue, and I don't think I'll be using PayPal any more.

What cables do I need to hook a windows 7 laptop to a TV, and how much do they cost?

What model of laptop is it?

You'll need a VGA Cable. Its the one with the blue tipped end like so:

 

 

Plug one end into your Laptop and (If your PC is a LCD/Plasma and not too old) there should be the same port in the back of it. plug it in, turn on TV, change the Channel to PC and on your laptop press the Function key [Fn] then [F4].

Ba-ding! Same rule if they both have a HDMI Port.

 

(Note: Sound will not travel thru a VGA or HDMI Cable)

 

EDIT: the VGA Cables something like $20 for a 5m. They're stocked, but not commonly made anymore.

I've got my Psych book for next semester in my lap right now, attempting to get something out of it so I can feel productive today. So far I've learned two new words: apophenia (the coincidental numbers between Lincoln and JFK is an example) and pareidolia (picture of that "face" on the moon turned out to be nothing).

Grblfg! I'm probably exaggerating but I'm starting to get cheesed at this girl who texts me at least twice a day. My limit is once daily, and only if it's because they have something to talk about. You can also text me more if I can put my penis is you more. It's even more frustrating when I check my phone after going out/driving/hockey/gym/research and find 5 messages from the same [bleep]ing braindead girl first asking if I had a good day, second telling me hers was good, third asking why I won't reply, fourth guessing why I'm not replying, fifth telling me to reply when it's convenient.

 

Other than that my holidays have been decent. Good Christmas with good family, and I got to see friends I hadn't seen for a year. Now I'm hoping for an alcoholic time machine to be invented so I can fast forward to new years eve :thumbsup: .

 

EDIT: Funny story alert! I had almost forgotten, I have a funny story to share. To keep things PG13 lets just say I had my fingers in a very special place, somewhere a lot of boys wish they had their fingers in right now. Anyways, lets also say I was vigorously trying to get something out of what my fingers were in when I got a hand cramp. It was a really intense and it made my fingers go in a really weird position and I couldn't straighten them out because it hurt too much. This made three of my fingers stuck in the 'thing' it was in and it made me and some girl very panicked and scared for thirty seconds.

 

I am hoping it was a once in a lifetime thing because for a few seconds I honestly though I'd never get my hand back :ohnoes:

Same thing happened to me. [bleep]ing sucks but you'll basically just need to buy one. Get one off of Amazon, that's where I've found that they're the cheapest.

Went to my dad's house to celebrate Christmas there, got an electric shaver, emergency car tool set, a 106 pc wrench set, some gloves, and some weird body spray (I want your bod?) and a few gift cards. All in all, everything I really needed. Gps, shaver, and some tools :thumbup:

I'm feeling strange - it's probably something to do with actually getting decent amounts of sleep over the past few nights. I've got an eight hour drive in a stuffy car with a family of five tomorrow, and then a few nights in upstate New York, where we'll probably be snowed in the entire time, if we even get there.

 

If I don't post something cynical in the inevitable "New Years Resolution's" thread, I've died in a horrible car accident/ been hospitalized with food poisoning. Or suffocated from extended time in the thin, stale air of an old folks' home.

Pretty sure that's the crossfade setting. You can turn it off in the playback tab of preferences.
