Major Dash
My dad's computer was apparently initially infected with some ransomware, plus maybe some other stuff that was already caught, and so my mom lost all her pictures. They didn't even have the courtesy to drop us a text file with directions on how to pay them in worthless bitcoins to get our files back. Nope, just corrupt them and go. I'm really [bleep]ing upset that this is a real thing real people do. Ugh. Could you not system restore to some point last week or something? Unless she just recently uploaded her pictures. I did that with my sister's laptop when it got ransomware. I was able to system restore to two days before the infection, so she didn't really lose anything. “I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”“Do you have any regrets?”“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”“Mmmhmm.”
Arceus
System restore doesn't affect user-created files (that's the whole idea). I don't think it's going to help un-corrupt the files unless they're carefully buried in some program... "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." MuffinMaddy
Spontaneous drinking session/clubbing night with the university's trampolining team. Not sure about this. Last three occasions where i've drank moderate amounts of alcohol have ended up with my head in the toilet throwing up. About a month since then, fingers crossed things turn out okay.Dont eat fish or chicken right before hand, eat some bread or other carb heavy foods before & anytime you start feeling nauseous. Pace yourself with sugar heavy drinks. Learn how many consecutive shots of what you can do without feeling like your body is expanding. Drink your beer, dont chug it. All about learning your pace and what your body can handle Curious about the no fish/chicken rule which I broke as I didnt read this before I went out!Turned up late to the drinks, challenged to down wine and other horrible mixtures and my own alcohol.Silly silly silly. Went to the club lasted about 10 minutes before I got to the fire exit, stuck my head out the door and just puked and puked. At least I made it to the door but it was unpleasant, probably for my boyfriend who had to look after me and hold my hair out the way. Bouncer comes along sympathetically says I can't come back into the club and asks whether I'm alright getting a taxi home.I was fine, didn't really feel clubbing that night, guess I drank to 'enjoy' it but I got it wrong.Had to pay a fine so they could clean my vomit as well, but it wasn't all that expensive or anything. Went out this past Wednesday without eating much but was a much bigger success. Drank a better alcoholic drink and no spirits Click this link for my blog that summarises my achievements on Runescape over the years
RpgGamer
I don't have a science fact on the tip of my tongue but having as much experience with alcohol as I do and being friends with so many people of the same have taught me that chicken/fish right before heavy drinking doesn't end well. And in the future try to only stick to one or two drink types. Quickly mixing different liquors is kind of advanced for a once in a blue moon drinker Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. Sbrideau
System restore doesn't affect user-created files (that's the whole idea). I don't think it's going to help un-corrupt the files unless they're carefully buried in some program... If the files have corrupted then it's not ransomware, it's just a virus to destroy them. Ransomware encrypts files and then asks for money. Doing a system restore can sometimes remove the encryption depending on which ransomware you got. There's also a website that gives you keys to decrypt the files for one certain ransomware but I can't recall what's it called at the moment. Estonian dude
Well, I've got me pretty much handling anything alcoholwise nowadays, so I can't really give any other suggestions than to eat greasy food beforehand. Drink lots of water inbetween drinks. Never drink on empty stomach, unless you wanna get wrecked, but that is pretty much the only way for me to get wrecked... On a different topic, my face is full of make-up. I hate that feeling, I can't fathom how girls can tolerate it. Luckily can get it off in the sauna in like half an hour.As for why my face is full of make-up, I was just on the recording of the national TV quiz show, participating. We were a college and university student team against 5 teams of pro quizzers and public figures. We were pretty much equal to the pros, that had been on the show for previous 3 seasons. Hopefully we get invited back next season. So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.I strike out every other week.Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.Randox pretty much stays rational.Etc, etc

Estonian dude
Drinking water might be lame. But puking is even lamer. But yeah, last time I puked was last winter after chugging 2 beers, half a litre of vodka and then taking tequila shots, and after the 4th one it came out nearly instantly cause of the taste. And that's why I don't drink tequila.Never drink tequila. Estonian dude
It's not annoying. Specially if it has been a pretty long night and have been drinking pretty much only beer, then water is god's gift sometimes. And I enjoy drinking water. I drink around 2 litres a day. Used to drink milk that much, but my wallet can't handle it. I can't fathom how possibly drinking water could be annoying. And I pretty much know how to avoid puking. I doubt anyone here, even RPG actually drinks as often and much as I do. But it is nothing to be proud of and thus I don't condone it and I don't mention it here every time. Anyways, I absolutely hate make-up. I can't possibly understand why any dude would voluntarily put some of it on, just to go out. And it has become somewhat fashionable in some places, or well, so I've heard at least. So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. No. For one, it was almost a month ago that it happened, and the most recent restore point he has is the 20th. He didn't tell me until too late, and I couldn't make it home for another couple of weeks after that. For two, what Arceus said was correct, System Restore doesn't restore those kinds of files. As far as I can tell, the particular ransomware my dad got does not have any method of decryption. Dissapointing. RpgGamer
Watch your tongue sir SaqPrets! Thems fightin' words round my parts! Drinking water during for me is rare, and usually only happens on mult-iday benders (because at some point you need to not be dehydrated). I do usually chug a water bottle or 5 every morning after heavy drinking though. Why fill your bladder with something that isn't getting you drunk? I drink just about everyday, but only heavily when I have the money and there's an opportunity. Of course, light drinking to me is ~6 beers in an evening so whatever that equates to in your world. I don't really do multi-day benders much anymore, but mostly because I'm not a reckless college student anymore. I live in the real world, with real world friends and real world money issues. So heavy drinking is common, say like 12 beers & half a bottle of what-have-you but I don't go full on reckless like I used to very much. Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Estonian dude
I think we had one who studied medicine. But that was ages ago. What is that game you are talking all the time? American football? How can you like a game that has a break every 5 seconds? It's like baseball. And my dad thinks baseball is the most pointless game ever. Even golf is better.
