I just got my awesome and beautiful red/orange hat stolen.

Or well, I stole her hat pretty much more than a year ago. As she says. Dunno, can't remember, don't really care.

Luck be unexpected.

Today, we got 4 cases of free beer for 3 of us. Also got 4-course dinners for free. After having free lunch and wine.

Heard some fun stories about one of our former frat members.

Car broke down after a hockey game.  Took like an hour and a half for the tow truck to get there and another hour and $120 to get home. My baby's still not working and if it's not an electrical issue (And I'm praying that it is), it's probably the transmission and that'll run me about the entire value of the car.

Luckily when I say me I really mean my dad, who is very generous and also the technical owner of the car so he'll probably take care of it.  But if this happened a year or two in the future I would be shit out of luck.

What sucks even more is I was on the way home to drink with my friends. And that didn't happen.

Cars suck. I cant wait to live in the city someday and sell my car and never deal with insurance or gas or stupid engine problems ever again.

Maybe I'd buy a motorcycle, but that would mean im laying insurance again so...eh

I don't know man, my car is like a security blanket to me.  No matter what happened, as long as I had my car I would be fine. You can get places and you can also get away from places and a car can always double a shelter.

A car is one of the few things I would never want to give up.  But at the same time, I also never want to live in a city.  If I did I would probably forego the car.

Depends, I moved into the city and replaced my old car for a brand new car (this was in 2013) and I would not give it up for anything. There are instances though, where taking the bus is better for where I want to go, but usually for me, even for work, the car is better as it takes 1/4 the time the bus takes to get to work and other stuff like that, and on the weekend I can take drives if I want.

Have you heard of a company called zipcar? Its kind of like car rental, but way less hassle. Its a little pricey to do it often but in the city if you ever do happen to need a car for a night or two for whatever reason you just pick it up and drop it off like you would at a bike share. I could use a zip car for a week if I wanted (never necessary) and it would about match my cost car ownership for that month. But how often would I really NEED it?

Yeah services like that are pretty fun, here it's called Communauto (well it's in french lol), but it would be way more expensive than what I pay for my car per month lol.

Most of my point was that I want to move into Philly, hopefully in the next 18 months or so. The life style is just so.... wonderful. I just need to secure a job that can consistently pay me well enough to warrant moving. If I could make $300 a week every week, I'd be well on my way

If you have college/university, you'd probably make even more than that, unless salaries are lower in the U.S. than they are in Canada, which I highly doubt.

It's the same everywhere, it's pretty much the same here in Canada on the economic situation, except it picked up in the U.S. but not yet in Canada.

It's easy to get a job here in the UK, but not a career. Unless you want to be an assistant caterer all your life.

Well, I had an epic fail today. I bought turkey yesterday and only remembered to refrigerate it today. Oh well, guess I'll need to dispose of that...

Drove the mamma to and from root canal surgery. During my 2+ hours in the waiting room, the receptionist started making dinner arrangements with her computer. It took me a while to realize she was on Skype.
