Rares Becoming Sellable Again?

I personally think he is an attention [garden tool], but that's irrelevant, being an attention [garden tool] isn't against the rules and you aren't required to post about it. Anyway. I really don't get this thing about phats, how people are selling them like mad. Party hats will never go below "you are filthy rich" value as long as they remain discontinued rares and as long as they're still being sold at all (which they are - and they'll be even more sold when the price drops) so those few 10 million gold pieces should not be that much of a bother in theory. Unless you're going for 99 prayer or herblore by buying it all, which requires more than a phat is worth AFAIK.

 

 

 

 

 

i have to admit, he makes a lot of these ego-boosting threads, and tries to cover it up by posting a runescape related topic. many people hate him solely because of that if some of you haven't noticed.

 

 

 

OT: partyhats are still impossible in the market, minor rares can still function at the grand exchange. sorry if i missed anything important but i don't think this topic is discussing anything. :|

In 2007 there were 32k active ones, according to some guy who worked at Jagex and got fired and leaked MechScape.

In terms of hats, that isn't close to high, AT ALL. look at it this way. between that leak in 2007 - now, MANY players have quit, from being P****d at random updates, and not everyone put their hats into the party room. A number of players VERY LIKELY alced hats while quitting just to show how mad they were. Also some people had to have permanently quit and just left them there. Between those who will never come back, I myself would estimate that the number from then to now is AT LEAST a few hundred lower, if not could be close to a few thousand, remember they still leave the game the same ways over the years through accidents as well. (Mis alcs suck...)

 

 

 

Lets play pretend land where all 32k are still active right now. A small number of people have multiple hats, and a very small number have a set or more. (Doesn't 3 hit have a set?) Compare the 32k hats to the 6 - 7 million regular players... With the fact that they're always getting rarer... There really aren't many compared to how many people play... I expect them to get rarer and even [bleep]e in price eventually. I've always said they won't stay stuck on the ge forever, and will rise back to over what they are now eventually, but when, is more of the question.

The title of the thread doesn't mean that he is stating for a fact that rares are becoming sellable again, the fact that a red phat sold in GE relatively quickly and the a mask set at max gives the impression that they are and may well be.

They've sold since the ge came out they sell a few every couple months for minimum price idiots try to buy to try it on and realise they cant sell it back i know a friend who bought a purple then had to junk trade around 20m to get rid of it.

 

 

 

I have a friend who was about to quit, so he nolifed sara gwd, got 2 hilts in 6 trips, then threw an offer up for purple on GE. My guess is that most of the purples being bought were from people about to quit who wanted to own a phat and didn't have/couldn't bother to get the junk needed

he is going with the facts that he had/read about the rares. and you are just going with what you think you know and the stories/friends that told about it or even witness. you are just saying every thing that you think/assume that happen. it doesn't justify you to say that 3 Hit answer was wrong.

I know he said 32k last year was a fact. I was assuming the number of them AT THIS MOMENT, and if you knew how to read, you'd realise that 3 hit's response to my post was his assumption as well. No one knows how many there are atm, and I was coming up with an estimate because he was saying they seem to be selling better. I fail to see what you are trying to do, especially since you said, "It doesn't justify you to say that 3 hit answer was wrong". Seriously read well or gtfo, I never said his number was wrong, He gave the number 32k for last year, I assumed less for this year, and the next post down, he did too, agreeing with me.

I'm sure they will rise again due to the fact everyone is gwding and getting TONS of money now adays especially during the summer. I personally have a white which I payed min in ge for ya ya flame me go ahead idc I don't want to buy junk or do I care for 3rd age. I wanted it and bought it. But I'm sure more and more sell everyday to someone who wants one quick. But yellow partyhats are extremely hard to sell I saw one go for 75M+junk earlier on RSOF.

I really never had a problem selling or buying rares. Perhaps you were selling for way too high. If so yea then ofcourse its gonna take a long time, people are going to buy the cheaper ones first
