Who is God to YOU? (Not necessarily a Theist question)

I think god is the big magical wizard in the clouds that tells christians that "Thou are better than all others beceause thou believes in me." Atleast that's what it seems like.

I sometimes get that impression too, it really bugs me.

some people may think of God as simply the force that exists within all aspects of life and nature

that's sort of what i think but it isn't "god" it's just the force of everything, nothing more, nothing less....

The one thing that comes to mind, seeing this thread, is a song called "God Thinks" by Voltaire. You should give it a good listen. Seriously. That's about the only thing I can think of to say.

i think of god as just human nature in whating to believe in something, that although science has pretty much proven that all of this is randoum, people have, and still want believe that life has meaning beyond just this, that life just isn't this pointless little bubble on this floating piece of dirt we like to call earth

What i don't get is that most people perceive this "God" as a human being. WHAT? I don't know about this forum, but most people i know think of "God" as a man. Erm. Who told them "God" was a man like figure? He could be a dog, or a cat.

Not trying to slam religions here though. I don't really believe there is a god or whatever crap.

Well I'm with you on not believing in the conventional sense of god, but when humans were created, according to christian beliefs, they were created in "his likeness". So that kinda throws out your theory on what he is supposed to look like.

Could in his likeness possibly mean what he would have liked them to look like? (oldthinksmiley)

I think god for me is all thing we can't understand, we can't say how it works so lets say god does it, like we don't know how life apared in earth for 1st time so lets say god made something... etc.

I think God is a perfect vision of myself in a way. I think that God is something different to all of us, so it makes me think what influences our vision of what God is?

I think if God walked the earth, he'd be a role model to me, he would be sort of like me but making no mistakes and being extremely knowledgeable.

I think God exists in all of us and in our minds and is the voice in our heads that tells us what we should have done in a situation to avoid something.

Well, that's my opinion anyway, I'm sorry if it sounds strange.

God to me is a connection between all living things, our feelings and our conscience. Nothing more, Nothing less.

Veni, vidi, vici - Julius Caesar

Solid Snake = God.

Light Yagami = Jesus.

End of story (If I'm going to base it off of a christian based style of belief.

Anyway, that's not true.

I don't believe in a formal god. To be honest, I don't believe in anything past life.

I had a piece of grass on my shoe, and she wiped that off. Yeah. Impressive, eh? That's probably the closest I've ever been to having sex. :P

To me God (or any religion) is just something that was created by human imagination to explain things that humans cannot explain, and to create a sense of comfort.

God is an image man created to cope with death or give the average man morals.

Add me on Xbox Live and mention you are from Tif :D

A primitive sky-god, whose identity has been perpetuated by people who either did not have the information to understand our world, or still refuse to look at the evidence.

God is just a wandering being who travels through space looking to continue its own existence.

God doesn't exist to me, my spiritual beliefs are very weird but I couldn't care. I think everyone has 1 life, the world revolves around their life, life is their chance to be successful and make friends, achieve stuff etc. When they die they will be reborn onto Earth with only their friends and loved ones, only the people that person wants, their past life reflects on their "heaven life", if they were successful then they will be successful in "heaven", if they made many friends then they will have many friends to spend the rest of eternity with.

That's why I try to make the most of life, so I can be happy in my own view of Heaven.
