Subconcsious: Actions of Attraction.

I read in another thread about unconscious actions someone will make when they are around someone that they are attracted to. Things like moving towards the person while standing near them, picking dirt off their clothes, listening more attentively than normal, and standing with your hands in your pockets while facing them, etc. I was just curious what other things you've noticed when someone is attracted to someone else, and how they act around them.

I do all those things when I'm around people I don't really know. Except moving towards them and listening more attentivly. And instead of picking dirt I take lint out of my pockets. So really just standing with my hands in my pockets.

Anyway, I guess it's all related to being nervous. Or wanting to be nice to the other person.

What you can do is look at the difference between how he normally acts and how he acts around you. If there are significant differences, then that might tell you something.

I think he means that when, say, your friend is attracted to someone, and you notice the behavioral differences between what he normally does, and what he does when he's around her.

Tbh the best way to tell is simply if the person makes eye contact with you a LOT more than everyone else is. There's at least some sort of fascination. I guarantee that's true almost every time.

I really doubt it's an unconscious thing. Like your hand won't just reach out and wipe something off someone's shirt without even thinking about it.

 

Though I have to say, one time, I was sitting with a girl outside, during French...I had a piece of grass on my shoe, and she wiped that off. Yeah. Impressive, eh? That's probably the closest I've ever been to having sex. :P

Yeah, it's really easy to see when your friends like someone. Even to the untrained eye, it's not difficult. It's more difficult to read someone you don't know very well.

I'll keep that in mind. And anyway, if you touch another person nearly at all in Finland, it's considered intrusive. Personal space is very valuable and that value is respected.

When you've been around girls for a long time, you start noticing certain things they all do. If you're attracted to you, they'll tend to look at your lips a lot. They sit upright, because it makes their boobs look larger. Also, a big hint that they're comfortable with you, is that they will cross their legs. If her leg that is furthest away from you and is crossed pointing at your direction, they feel comfortable being held or relaxed in your arms. If its pointing away from you, they probably don't feel comfortable around you or don't want to be bothered right then. Its all these subconscious things they do that can give away stuff.

Exactly. Again it comes up for me this respect of personal space thing for me because I live in Finland. If you pass someone on the street, you do not look them in the eye unless you know them. In America it seems to be that you look them in the eye no matter what. So I have kind of lost the ability to judge how much eye contact is normal with anyone, with girls I just go for minimal.
