Leaf-Bladed Swords with a use at Corporal Beast?

The word is out, the new Corporal Beast is weak to stab. When people found this out, they bought out the entire zamorakian spear market, the best stab weapon in the game. What people overlooked, however, is the Leaf-Bladed sword, normally not used outside of slayer because of its low stats compared to whip. However, it has 67 stab attack, aswell as being 1 handed, which equates to 87 stab bonus (2 more than the zamorakian spear) with rune defender. It also has a decent 50 strength bonus, which is 55 with rune defender. All this at the speed as the whip, and being a mere 45k, about 1/20 of the cost of the zamorakian spear. Would people start using this weapon at the Corporal Beast, considering if you die with it you don't lose as much, and its much easier to get?

I'm not saying its for poor people, just the fact that you can't buy zamorakian spears without junk now, and its less to lose if you die.

I do believe that this is the "best" way to kill the beast at this time. It as just as fast as a whip, and since it is only one-handed, it can have +2 slash attack more than the z-spear as well as having the ability to train any form of combat and not just controlled. Not to mention if this weapon is lost in the fight it isn't as big of a deal as losing a z-spear which is 900k current mid-price in the grand exchange. This will allow for people to risk the sword in favor of better bonuses to attack, and not fear losing much (sword is only 48k in GE).

Yeah that would work, but then after, why not go for a main weapon with better stab? a dagger is only as good as the specials, and then it isn't very useful as a main attack weapon. The leaf bladed has an overall higher stab bonus. So, in invent you should have a dds, along with your supplies, a leaf bladed sword along with a rune def to maximize you stab effectiveness.

 

 

 

If a team of say 10 (this is the average amount of members I see per trip) all use this method, "specing" out the boss in the beginning, I can see the Corporal beast falling fairly quickly to their hands.

Dagger is nice: but Halberd has more stab bonus and hits harder on a BIG OBJECT. So i think Halberd as SPECIAL WEAPON works nice.

 

 

 

But Leaf blade sounds nice as Main Weapon. Didn't knew it had more STAB than Dagger

Salve Amulet E (Boss is undead): Increases Attack level+Strength by 20%=See what this does? This will insure a Player will hit 50+ With halberd.

 

 

 

So here's the calculation:

 

 

 

118 STR/ATT (My levels SUPER POTTED) x20% =2360=2360:100=23.6 Levels=23.6+118=141.6 ATT/STR Level.

Well there is no way in Hell that I would risk losing a defender again, but I suppose that this could be good for all the lucky people that get 1 every thousand tokens or so.

Well I suppose you can use another shield, like DFS or Obby instead of defender for defensive purposes, but I heard armour doesnt help.

Zam spear is easily better, the +20 str is huge.

True that the sword is inferior to the zamorakian spear, only reason I can see it better if you are super rich and have the new shields or something. The point is that its a cheap alternative. I believe there should be no doubt that it is better than the hally or dragon spear.

Zamorakian Spear is a great weapon all around because you can use it everywhere because of its versatility. Good overall investment.

What about the d long? Doesn't that have better bonuses than the leaf sword? I mean sure it has like 9 less stab, but it also has an extra 21 strength bonus.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I would think that the speed bonus of the leaf spear to the zammakorian should make up the strenth bonus. Everyone spends so much time trying to max there maximum damage they forget that being able to hit faster and on more hits is often better.

 

 

 

In the SFCIII game, there are 2 versions af all primary and one secondary weapon. These are fast and slow versions. They have the same accuracy as their counterparts. The fast versions have 70% of the max damage as slow versions, but fire 50% faster. If you do 2 slow rounds and everything hits perfect, you get 200 dmg (using easy numbers, not game values for damage) with a slow and 210 with fast. If you average out the damage dealt vs time, you will find that consistant med-high hits will ultimatly be better that sporadic high hits. If you miss with a fast weapon it is not nearly as big a deal as getting a bad hit with a slow weapon because you recover faster.

 

 

 

I recal 2 handed spears being resonably med speed so I figure the leaf is probably around 50% faster. It might be a little bit worse in the long run, but for that cost it really makes you wonder if the zam spear is worth it.

Yes, you are wrong. The weapon in question is the leaf-bladed sword, not to be confused with the leaf-bladed spear. And the zamorakian spear has the same speed as a whip.
