Remember When...

I liked your story.

I started playing in October of 06, a "newby" I shall call myself. I much prefared it back then.

I'd rather RWT, Free Trade, autoing were still here trather than us losing out on a great deal of player interaction. I miss the old game, it seems we're all being pushed away from teh game while other, younger, less mature people are being reeled in and ruining it for us all.

Things used to be fun and people helped each other out, now everything costs.

I remember when bot-killing was a sport \', and when you could make a profit by buying something low and selling it high -.-

Sometimes I miss the good ol' days, sometimes I think that this is just fine. Now new players have several gigantic safety nets all over. Roughing it was a great part of the experience.

I do not miss certs.

I do not miss certs at all.

I can remember the days when you could freely trade, and merchanting was very profitable.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

I rember when more people would take 30 seconds to nicely answer a question. I rember when my my combat level of 100 would have garned me respect rather being labled as [wagon] and people would ask for help on quests (I enjoyed helping). Still, there are good people who play, you just need to find them.

LOL, remember when they brought in certs but you STILL had to spend hours changing your stuff into certs to sell it anyway? Utterly pointless!

I've been playing for four years, and you wanna know how many Combat Levels I got in that time? 70... =P I was never the best Combat-Leveler, but now I'm goin a lot faster.

Back on topic: I remember being on Vacation up in New York in the '06 (or was it '07?) Easter Event, I was pissed off xD. I also remember the old graphics, OH MY GOD! I thought the interface was pretty good back then... NOPE now looking at it, it sucked =P I remember merchanting too =X And when the Duel Arena was Members Only? =P That was the good 'ole days.

Well said.

A direct comparison of RS 7 years ago to what it is today can only lead one to the conclusion that RS has always - and will continue - to make vast improvements. Everytime something new is released that changes gameplay(however slightly), a vocal but relatively small contingent of the gameplaying population hail the end of RuneScape. The remaining million players continue playing, confident in Jagex's ability to keep their eye on the ball.

RuneScape is a work in progress, thus is the nature of the beasts known as MMORPGs. Things are changed, reworked and then changed again. Believe me when I say that RuneScape has been extremely shrewd with their chosen updates and revamps compared to some other games I've played.

They also listen to the gaming populace, as shown with their planned PvP servers and various other incidences in the past.

RS = win.

I was never around during the days of RSC, i joined in the year of the yo-yo. 8-)

I still miss the days when dragon made you a legend. But then, combat was much simpler then. I didn't have to choose between bandos, barrows, or whatever when going off to fight. :P

*Sigh*

I remember classic, I've played on and off, various players since around 2002. I've seen many changes, however most have been for the better :)

The thing I miss most is the aspiration towards certain items such as Dragon and Rares. The was a time when Dragon armour was rare, D Meds were in excess of 1m, and Rares were highly sought after, not now though, people can't sell them!

I think there are way too many highly powered items in the game, but that's just me ;)

i miss the fact that u cant give items to anyone anymore. when i heard trade limits were comming out i grabbed a stash of my gold and went to f2p. i started shouting free 100k to all. the people who called me a liar didnt get money. but the people who were nice got money and some items. i gave away millions then. i remember giving my gf's lil brothers and cousins practically anything they wanted, being low lvl f2p this was great for them. i remember going to p2p and i told a friend from work about it and later that night she gave me a d long 200k worth of pots and 200k cash to get me started on p2p. however i do remember trying to cut a yew down and not being able to with all the bots. :x

so giving up one of the things i loved the most solved one of the things i hated the most.
