June 2, 200917 yr Author Okay, I'm sold on the macaw. I can add that to the guide later. But I need numbers on oaks. I doubt I can get 1500 oak logs per hour, which is what I would need to beat willows. If you have data, well...sell me. :-s Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
June 2, 200917 yr What about mahogany instead of teak? I've been doing a bit of mahogany for a short while, and noticed it's not that much slower than teaks, while they give aproximately 1.5 times the xp. I'm lvl 99 woodcutting though. Does anyone have numbers regarding this subject? Mahogany logs bring in more money, so if it's the same xp rate (or just mildly less) it'd be worth it to switch to mahogany. Mahogany would only be viable if it could be banked. As is, the primary mahogany spots are in exactly the same places as the primary teak spots, which leaves m'hogs perpetually in the shadow of teaks. (Which is a little odd when you consider how much larger the mahogany trees are.) Any time you bank mahoganies, you're doing worse than if you banked teaks; any time you drop or burn them, you're doing worse than dropping or burning teaks. June 2, 200917 yr I'd only do them because they yield extra money, and yes I'm banking them. I've calced it, and it seems that when I'm using an adze + pack yak, they give 56k xp an hour. Considering I can get almost 80k an hour with teaks, I'd say they're not worth it, after all. Twitter ||| Google+ ||| Facebook ||| LinkedIn ||| My very interesting weblog about science

June 9, 200917 yr about chopping and burning teaks the position in ur picture is not so good, cause there is a plant in ur line, where u can t make any fire. there is a bether location, and u have to walk less. just west of the most sout western tree, u have a full line of burning, and u doen t have to walk. i i recomend that space, try it out 90 cooking: 17.5.2009
June 9, 200917 yr Since today's update (drop while continuing to wc) I am able to get 90k an hour with dropping teaks, using an inferno adze, at 99 wc. Twitter ||| Google+ ||| Facebook ||| LinkedIn ||| My very interesting weblog about science

June 11, 200917 yr Hey nice guide. Really well written and you have covered everything. I got 99wc early 2008, took me about 3months at draynor, i should have done teaks! Ahh well, I really enjoyed cutting at draynor, and it was a good location to meet new players :) Also did it all with a rine wc axe, cause I wanted to be oldschool lol (slaps head) I was just wondering what are the odds of getting a raven egg from a nest? I got 1 last year, but my raven died when I forgot to feed it. Thanks again for a great guide :) Feel free to add me ingame if you want to chat :D

I got 1 last year, but my raven died when I forgot to feed it. Thanks again for a great guide :) I've gotten hundreds of nests and only two ravens. They're very rare. Plus, half of them are brown ravens, which are much less cool than the black ones. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time looking for a new one--it's not worth it, especially when there are so many cooler pets around, like crawling hands or squirrels. Especially since you have 99 woodcutting already. If you find a raven, you find a raven, but they're rare enough to be much too rare to go looking for one. Good luck anyway, though...I found my first raven egg within half an hour of getting the summoning level to hatch it, then didn't get another one until about two million xp after 99 wc. As for this new dropping thing, well...that just makes it too easy, doesn't it? Teaks are much faster when you don't need to re-click the tree. Heck, this makes Zarfot's powerdropping method the default. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
June 12, 200917 yr The dropping while cutting was removed yesterday, I believe (makes me glad I took advantage of it to get 3 levels while it was still in the game), but there is the possibility of it coming back sometime in the future. Out of curiosity, due to the xp increases from the inferno adze, do you think it's worth powertraining firemaking before you seriously train woodcutting, or is it just something that you should use if you have it, but don't go out of your way to get it? If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.
June 12, 200917 yr Personally, I think the adze is a great advantage. Not only does it elongate the time you can spend chopping, due to it's burning capabilities.. it also makes training a lot more fun because you are training 2 skills at once. Getting 92 fm doesn't have to take much time, and the quest + minigame is quite doable with a guide. I'd say get it. I love powercutting since I have the adze. June 13, 200917 yr One more question about the adze and I'll shut up. I have 76 firemaking and 80 woodcutting -- should I go ahead and burn 37k or so maples for 92 firemaking, or should I train them up a little more evenly before getting the adze? I'm mostly worried about wasting firemaking xp if I powerlevel to 92 now and get more than enough xp for 99 from the adze, which though it is a good problem to have, is still a problem. If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.
June 13, 200917 yr Author The adze would be worth getting first if you're going for 99 firemaking as well. Otherwise, the extra time spent on firemaking isn't worth the slightly faster woodcutting experience. But this is one of those cases like evil trees where you can basically do whatever you want to do without a major drop in efficiency either way--it all depends on how much you want to train firemaking. June 14, 200917 yr excellent guide! =D> I love the amount of detail and personal experience you put in it. Some parts were also humerous, and kept me awake through the whole guide (sparkly! ). Love it, 10/10. -Infinity

Well I plan to fletch and make longbows to sell/alch. Thank you. Okay, well, if you're a hardcore DIY-er and you're going to pick and spin flax, cut yews, string them into bows, and alch, then go ahead and do all of the above in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. There are flax plants and yew trees right next to the spinning wheels, so you can cut down on banking. But it would still be more efficient for you to cut eucalyptus logs and trade them for yews.
