Saru Inc
Im guessing none of you have heard about 'Saw - The Ride', opening next year. :twss: :wall: :wall: :wall: No, just no. Not to be judgemental, but it's kinda of wierd to watch movies where people are killed and tortured to death, and call them 'excellent.' A war movie is one thing, Saw is another. Evil_Sabre
I've seen two Saw movies.....I have no idea which ones I've seen though....they all seem basically the same just with different ways of dying. I'll see this if a bunch of my friends are going, but if there's something better to do I'm definitely skipping out on Saw.

bongo_man
I didn't find Hostel that scary or disturbing to be honest, now TCM on the other hand... On-topic though, I haven't seen a single Saw movie so there's really no point in seeing this one. There's been a drought on good horror movies for the past year or so, I'm not wasting my money on movies like The Strangers or Prom Night ever again -.- [If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

PumpkinPete112
Ive seen them all and they were all decent, but imo Saw 1 was by far the best. I may see 5 in theatres with my buddies if they go. Sig
purfishx
That's the studio mentality - if something works once and makes money, we'll keep on doing it until it doesn't work or make money anymore. And even then they will keep doing it with the fantastic direct-to-dvd system. :D  I stopped at 2, I'mma watch all 3 and 4 today to get my stupid mind ready for 5. :P Sigs by: Soa | Gold_Tiger10 | Harrinator1 | Guthix121 | robo | Elmo | Thru | Yaff2 Avatars by: Lit0ua | Unoalexi | Gold Tiger . Tsar
Year is 2020. You go into the IMAX 4D cinema one evening. No clue to what you want to watch, you scan the movie lineup. Oh my god! Saw 14 is out. I soooo am getting tickets for that! This, I believe, is the future truth if the numbnuts at the production company don't stop making a sequel after sequel after sequel to a mediocre horror movie that should have only had ONE sequel, if even that. Instead we now get four. And god knows how many more will emerge. Whatever pleases the twisted minds of viewers, right. Stimulates the serial killer inside us, doesn't it. I imagine Saw 6 will flop. Saw 5 might just do okay, but as the statistics show - a sequel is almost never better than the original. No exception here.
jjrox32
Wah? How can they make another movie. Hasn't pretty much everyone from the other movies died, including Jigsaw and his apprentice?
BlueLancer
I don't like horror films, so I certainly won't be watching it. Heh, quite the opposite.. I love the psychological challenges a good horror film can offer while you're in a dark room/almost empty movie threatre  I did watch all Saw's from 1 to 4.. I wouldn't even call them horror movies. More like, gorefest... There isn't a scary element to any of them really, it's testing your brain's limits; How disgusting mutilation of the body can you watch before you cringe, turn your head away and say 'dammit' before resuming? Not a very impressing series, although it's intriguing how sick & twisted 'games' John Kramer develops for his victims, who he believes are wasting away their lives unless he intervenes and makes them use their 'survival senses'. Mylez
I've only seen Saw I, and Saw II. The first film was really good, plenty of suspense, and a good twist at the end. However, Saw II was something of a disappointment. I'm hoping that III, IV and V are better. I'll be watching III and IV this week, and I'm going to see V at the cinema on Saturday :D Edit~ Woot, 300 posts :twss:

BlueLancer
lol the saw series is bad That was a pretty poor attempt. You have to be bit more critical to get the response you're looking for. The series does appeal to a very small niche of people, doesn't mean it's artistic value is 'bad'. I don't like it much either, but for it's own genre, it's a damn twisted and evil story arch of John Kramer's experiments. The problem is.. Why watch it? You watch comedy to laugh. You watch horror to feel scared. You watch fantasy/adventure for excitement. You watch thrillers for the suspense. Why watch people getting torn out of their limbs in sick psychological 'tests' where often no escape is possible, leaving a very violent and painful death as the only option? I'd say shock value. Or at least for me, I just watched them to see what it's all about. The Saw series is all about shock value, which makes it a cash magnet especially amongst young people. Wont make a bet or anything, but I'd say very few people actually enjoy watching extreme gore and killing of innocent people (I know those people exist, just saying it's a minority)

And John Kramer always leaves the victims of these traps with an escape, generally a very painful escape, but an escape nonetheless.
