Combat levels finally fixed.

Thank you... Summoning never should have been added to combat... it really doesn't help you THAT much anyway. I lol'ed at all the people on RSOF crying over it. They all are crying because they can't use their summoning anymore to get cheap combat levels. ( No more level 95's in the 100 boat just because of summoning)

 

 

 

I'm glad Jagex finally fixed this...

it's not "fixed" if anything it's more broken. either make it not effect it at all, or make it effect it completely. none of this halfway crap. i dislike it completely. plus it's just harder to tell levels and stuff like that now, i'd rather the names be colored than the cmb levels.

It's really really annoying, I can't one click Abyssal demons without a summoning pouch on me. It should be removed from the non-PvP worlds.

I don't quite understand this, does it mean that the max combat is 126 again? If so that is pretty stupid, Summoning is more helpful than prayer in some situations..

 

 

 

Well basically take my level for example

 

 

 

I'm 97 combat with 7+ because of summoning

 

 

 

97+7

 

(97 = Without) (104 = With)

 

 

 

The max combat is still 132.

Anyway, this new will suck for most high level slayers like Foo said. They could just fix it so you CAN 1-click them.

Dosent really change much. Infact its actually more helpful to the summon skill. As you need to have a familiar out to increase in combat. It gives people more incentive to use summons.

 

 

 

And for high level payers, it wont matter much, because when your summon level is high enough that it makes a major difference (60+), the famliars you can summon are able to help you out. What high level does slayer/monster training without a bunyip/uni these days anyways?

 

 

 

It just gives you one more advantage when actually USING summon, not just having the level for some extra numbers.

Kinda weird update.

 

 

 

But if you actually need 100 combat f2p now to get on vet boat in PC that's a nice plus to this update. That's assuming you're not allowed to bring summoning pouches into PC (never tried).

 

 

 

I wonder also if this effects the aggressiveness of monsters like wild dogs? Not that it matters to high-summoning slayers, 'cause they'll probably be using a bunyip/uni while slaying greaters anyway.

This is an awful reason to not like it, just because its an unfamiliar interface. "Harder" doesn't mean anything...If summoning was introduced this way, people never would have known anything else and it wouldn't have been "hard" cause they would just learn to use it that way.

but summoning wasn't introduced that way. i still don't think i'd like the whole look of it though. i'm justified enough to hate it for that just as much as everyone else is allowed to hate everything else for minimal reasons. it's one of the few things about an update i have ever truly disliked.

When not using Summoning, your combat is based on everything except Summoning, and when summoning is used, your combat is based on everything including Summoning. I don't see how this can be any bad, and I feel really confused when I see all the rants about it on the RSOF, I just don't see what they're complaining about :?

We have received quite a lot of feedback on the changes to how the new combat levels work and have decided to make some slight adjustments to it.

 

 

 

We will change it so that the split combat levels (e.g. 126+12) will only appear on PvP Worlds and in Bounty Hunter. For the latter, the combat level split will take effect as soon as you are outside the crater, so that you will know which crater you can enter.

 

 

 

This means that, as long as you're not around Bounty Hunter, you will always be using your combat level INCLUDING Summoning on non-PvP Worlds. On PvP Worlds, it will remain as it is now.

*sigh* for this one day/week we were able to see people's REAL combat level.
