And I think this is a terrible idea. I know summoning is meant for non-combat uses too, but you have to kill things to get the charms so it's combat related. You could say that for that same reason Slayer should be in the combat level, but you can't use slayer to attack people, you can use familiars. October 16, 200817 yr The way I saw it, the combat levels added by summon represented your experience or knowledge on how to summon a familiar. Many people have said that the combat levels gained by summon were your familiars combat level, but wouldn't that make the levels gained by prayer the gods combat level? I mean you turn on a prayer, and the gods help you. You summon a familiar and it helps you. I guess people are just so used to prayer affecting combat that they don't care. Alot of us like summoning.. easier to just left click higher monsters, and this (118+9) bs looks plain stupid.. maybe they want us to learn basic math.. (AH SO THATS IT! They were expecting the half wit pkers back) Seriously.. simply solve it: Summoning shouldn't be factored on PvP worlds Should on normal worlds Then everyone will be happy.. no? the trick is to balance all of these methods to get 99 and either play real life or train another skill while farming. 635th to 99 Farming 12/16/07
October 16, 200817 yr We have received quite a lot of feedback on the changes to how the new combat levels work and have decided to make some slight adjustments to it. We will change it so that the split combat levels (e.g. 126+12) will only appear on PvP Worlds and in Bounty Hunter. For the latter, the combat level split will take effect as soon as you are outside the crater, so that you will know which crater you can enter. This means that, as long as you're not around Bounty Hunter, you will always be using your combat level INCLUDING Summoning on non-PvP Worlds. On PvP Worlds, it will remain as it is now. Non PvP gets what they want, pures, who whined in the first place, get what they want. I can't see how this is not a win/win situation. Unless, of course, you just liked seeing people's actual combat levels. Perhaps the only downside is that 110's without the actual combat levels may be able to get into the PC veteran boat, but we don't have that much information to draw that conclusion.
October 16, 200817 yr I don't like losing my 3 digit cmb level to this update. This is NOT because I can't go on the vet lander, I don't PC anyways because the xp blows and on the vet lander I get slaughtered. I know there cheep levels but... Anyways I will love the update once I have 100+ as a base cmb because then people will be able to see I am a legit 100+ not a summoning 100+ (so I actualy have no good reason to dislike other that how confusing it is to see 10 of these levels stacked like when people fish).
October 16, 200817 yr They should have your real combat and then your combat + summoning level in paratheses, instead of this adding numbers stuff. Such as 95 (102), and maybe even have the numbers different colors. Overall instead they should just take out adding combat levels from summoning, or keep it the way it was.
