I am really looking forward to the quest. Hopefully the requirements won't be ridiculously high. The minigame sounds interesting too. :)

Contrary to most of the ppl here I do hope the req for the GMQ will be high , sickly high , so there will be few ppl able to do the quest , not every fkin person.

Oh, quit being immature little children about it. Since when has Thanksgiving in the real world been a problem to you in the real world if you don't celebrate it? If you don't want to go hunt turkeys then don't. Stop acting like children about it. If Jagex wants to release a small Thanksgiving event then it's their choice. Let them. Quite frankly, you have no say in it, really.

And really, it makes sense, anyway. A VERY large portion of the people who play Runescape are from North America anyway, so what's the deal?

Maybe next time Jagex wants to spread some holiday cheer to it's players they should just forget about it since 10 year old-minded players like you people will be offended. Grow up.

Relax dude. It's really quite not-done to call people immature when you just have a different opinion.

Flaming without having a valid argument, that's what I'd call immature.

Part of the charm of Runescape is the fact that is is so British. If you have ever watched travel shows on TV, you will see the public houses, standing stones, castles, etc. that you have seen in RuneScape. I'm Anerican and I hate to see RuneScape lose its British flavor.

PvP is not for me

In the 3rd Year of the Boycott
Real-world money saved since FT/W: Hundreds of Dollars
Real-world time saved since FT/W: Thousands of Hours

Well they still refer to British stuff in their quests and such. So I don't think they'll completely lose their British heritage. Though, in online games, it doesn't really matter where the roots lie due to the diversity in cultures that play the game. I mean, adding a typical British event into the game wouldn't be very logical if only a small percentage of the players are in fact British.

Yay, new holiday events! I wish they updated the game with new holidays from different countries every month - some educational benefit

A little off topic: I'm watching 'Independence Day' (yes, again). That's strange that the aliens decided to invade the whole world but attack only the USA :| But don't worry Americans, this year the whole Runescape world will be having great time celebrating Thanksgiving with you :)

In our first Grandmaster quest ever, with the longest, deepest storyline we have ever attempted, it will take an expert adventurer to find out.

Guessing there may be a new level of questing? Similar to RFD, although this mentions the FIRST ever, which implies it will even be a level above RFD. I just hope it doesn't require 200+ QP or something like that, because I don't like doing all the stupid little quests.

Yeah same here. If i have to spend a few days just doing little quests ill be mad. Hopefully it will just be a large skill requirement.

Although... If there is a lot of quest req's, ill spend the days doing them while Tip.It makes a guide to it. :D

I agree, I still remember the most weirdest RSOF thread ever... some guy was complaining about jagex giving everyone the ability to kill cows. He said it offended him as he was indian? From memory... and that cows are admired. I could understand if people were actually killing them IN REAL LIFE but c'mon, it's a game, they're only pixels for heavens sake #-o

Ah yes, and i'll be looking forward to the phoenix familiar later on, and the uber quest  nice wee hint about the dragon forge too.. very interesting

The British Empire was the largest ever, covering 1/4 of the worlds land mass. British customs and events are far wider than just England you realise? Almost 2B people are part of the Commonwealth, some 6 times more populous than USA.

Guy Faulks night is tomorrow, and is celebrated in England, NZ, Aussie, parts of Canada and the Carribean. So more countries celebrate Guy Faulks than Thanksgiving, so lets light up some crackers instead of celebrating fat americans.

PS: Can' wait for the Grand quest - me liketh a lot :)

looks interesting. i hope f2p gets these updates

Well the fact is that Thanksgiving is much more well known in outher countries. For example in Holland we're familiar with Thanksgiving.. but that Guy Faulks thing.. no sir.

The only reason for Jagex to celebrate Thanksgiving is due to it's popular nature among the players.

Never expected some celebration for Turkey day, but why not something between the holidays like in March or soemthing? zzz...

Doesn't look too interesting this month.

W00t wandering Turkeys (Jagex bringing religion to the game? #-o ) \'

What does that have to do with religion? Especially compared to the other holidays. -.-

It's just a well known holiday, and everything could use more turkeys. ;)

Wait a bloody minute... Why the hell are Jagex releasing an update that celebrates THANKSGIVING? That's an American holiday celebrating survival of the harsh winter in the new colonies. It's like having fireworks magically appear on the ground on the 4th of July... It doesn't make sense, given that Jagex is BRITISH.

why does that matter, there are alot of american players #-o

There are a lot of Canadian players too and Canadian thanksgiving was in October. I don't recall any turkey's in October. ::'

Canadians are American's too....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would love for the minigame to be F2P, I would definitely enjoy playing that as an alternative for training skills and more cooperation with my clanmates.

Zanty.jpegsigquotes.png

I thought Thanksgiving was about saying thanks to the Native Americans who gave food shelter etc to the early settlers.

Then the settlers repaid their debt by killing them all and stealing their land... :shame:

On the subject of this Grandioso Quest... Just the time for me to rejoin members, and make sure everything is at 70. And then get all the easy skills up to 80, (cooking, woodcutting, fletching etc). I'm pretty sure the reqs will be 70+ and almost all the quests leading up to this moment. I'm also hoping its a prequel to the 150th. Unless that turns out to be MEP3...

asrhasrh.jpg

Ooh, sounds great! =D>

j0xPu5R.png

Turkey suit!

I doubt the stealing creations will be f2p because f2p dont have the same ammount of skills that members have.

+ I bet member skillers would get mad if it was f2p. :P

The turkeys I can see f2p having access too.

Anyone else notice that the pheonix in the picture is on top of a summoning disc from the spirit of summer quest line? :o

I also wonder how in the world, jagex will make a story related to you taking control of an army and if that mobilising armies minigame will be PvP or PvE. :?

Woot Pheonix!!

Oh and cool mounth

ib7rVm.png

maybe the guy that was talking about guy faulks actually meant guy fawkes. Not that it has anything to do with thanksgiving besides the fact it is celebrated on the november 5

edit: omg they censor his name, maybe that's why the person misspelled it

Well I doubt you knew about the Guy Faulks thing, so that's +1 for Thanksgiving :P

Well I'm Dutch and I've heard of that Guy Faulks dude, he planned an assault on a baddie in the government or something, and I remember... fireworks... vague... :|

...

Ah you're probably right, Thanksgiving is more well known :P

Due to my epic stats, I have now started WGS (but I still hate spoilers).

sighistorian.jpg

lol'd at people caring about thanksgiving

---

the quest seems epic, my only fear is that I'll have to train smithing for it
