Tennis_Ace
Love the movie, love the book, and love Midnight Sun. Can't say I care for New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Jacob ruins everything for me. I like Bella. I don't really understand the "no personality" thing. I read the books in such quick succession though that it's hard to keep the whole thing straight. Edward does a good job of describing Bella's personality in Midnight Sun (which IMO is better than Twilight because I like all of the thoughts lol). Edward's cool. He doesn't abuse Bella. He does what he can for her safety. One problem that I have with the books is that everything is too perfect. The antagonist never accomplishes anything. I mean, not a single "good guy" dies in Victoria's newborn vampire attack, and the only person killed in Breaking Dawn is Irina, who we know almost nothing about. I guess I don't like the middle books because it is too much romantic teen drama. I'm just intrigued by the vampire/human interaction in book 1. That kind of goes away later on. Shazarabbit
If you reread my post, you'll notice that I said: Yes I think that Bella's sex drive in the fourth book is pretty pathetic. But if you're going to blame someone for that, blame Bella, not Edward. I think that Bella's desire for sex in the fourth book is absolutely pathetic. I was disgusted when I read it. She made up all these lies about wanting to remain human longer for the sake of sex. The author basically spent three books telling us that what Bella wants more than anything is to become a vampire so she can be with Edward forever.. then that's all blown away in the fourth book when sex suddenly becomes more important. I find that to be pathetic. I never said it was acceptable. I haven't read the forth book yet, but I'm thinking maybe the sex thing could have to do with the story Rosalie told her in Eclipse? (Correct me If I'm wrong though :D) About wanting a baby and all things etc, I assume as a vampire that you cannot fall pregnant. I was under the assumption Midnight Sun hadn't been completed yet though, I know that a chapter was included with the limited edition book of Twilight, but that was it. MC_Kejml
I do not know much about twilight, I've seen a "5 second movie" and a "Bum review (thatguywiththeglasses.com)", plus some pics and flyers with it, and I have to say - I dislike this story a lot. There is nothing we haven't seen before there, and I'm sometimes getting my feeling as fate would laugh at me and my massive book project. Like, when this can go out and become a bestseller, why shouldn't my book? :( Oh, I probably sound jealous. I am. And I am also ready for some nasty responses. :? ^ my book :^_^: I don't play anymore, but I'm grateful I played through the best RS times! Tennis_Ace
About Midnight Sun: Midnight Sun: Edward's Version of Twilight August 28, 2008 As some of you may have heard, my partial draft of Midnight Sun was illegally posted on the Internet and has since been virally distributed without my knowledge or permission or the knowledge or permission of my publisher. I have a good idea of how the leak happened as there were very few copies of Midnight Sun that left my possession and each was unique. Due to little changes I made to the manuscript at different times, I can tell when each left my possession and to whom it was given. The manuscript that was illegally distributed on the Internet was given to trusted individuals for a good purpose. I have no comment beyond that as I believe that there was no malicious intent with the initial distribution. I did not want my readers to experience Midnight Sun before it was completed, edited and published. I think it is important for everybody to understand that what happened was a huge violation of my rights as an author, not to mention me as a human being. As the author of the Twilight Saga, I control the copyright and it is up to the owner of the copyright to decide when the books should be made public; this is the same for musicians and filmmakers. Just because someone buys a book or movie or song, or gets a download off the Internet, doesn't mean that they own the right to reproduce and distribute it. Unfortunately, with the Internet, it is easy for people to obtain and share items that do not legally belong to them. No matter how this is done, it is still dishonest. This has been a very upsetting experience for me, but I hope it will at least leave my fans with a better understanding of copyright and the importance of artistic control. So where does this leave Midnight Sun? My first feeling was that there was no way to continue. Writing isn't like math; in math, two plus two always equals four no matter what your mood is like. With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely. I'd rather my fans not read this version of Midnight Sun. It was only an incomplete draft; the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes. But how do I comment on this violation without driving more people to look for the illegal posting? It has taken me a while to decide how and if I could respond. But to end the confusion, I've decided to make the draft available here (at the end of this post). This way, my readers don't have to feel they have to make a sacrifice to stay honest. I hope this fragment gives you further insight into Edward's head and adds a new dimension to the Twilight story. That's what inspired me to write it in the first place. I do want to take a moment and thank the wonderful fans who have been so supportive of me over the past three years. I cannot begin to tell you how much each of you means to me. I only hope this note will stop all the confusion and online speculation so that the Twilight universe can once again become the happy escape it used to be. After this incredibly busy year, I am now focusing on spending more time with my family and working on some other writing projects. --Stephenie Midnight Sun Partial Draft (if you are having problems viewing it, please click here.) This material is copyrighted by Stephenie Meyer. Any retranscription or reproduction is illegal. http://stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun.html It's only the first 12 chapters, so about half the book. I was under the assumption Midnight Sun hadn't been completed yet though, I know that a chapter was included with the limited edition book of Twilight, but that was it. I guess I could understand her 'obsession' a little bit because in the fourth book, Bella is under the impression that once she becomes a vampire, sex will not give her as much pleasure as it does when she is human. I'm sure that a lot of people might act like her if they thought that they would never be able to really experience sex again. But the way it is written and the things that she says and does make her look pretty pathetic in my opinion. I'd love to hear what you think about it once you read it ;) Be sure to send me a PM! And half of Midnight Sun is released on the Twilight website :) I, personally, enjoyed that version a lot more than Twilight. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog

I must admit I hadn't thought of that, due to the fact that i was not thinking of Twilight at the time. However you'll think I'm making that up so there's no point defending myself, butttt.. my story was about the boy cheating, Edward doesn't cheat on Bella. He leaves for her own good. But anyways, She wasn't attempting suicide alright, Bella was cliff diving [ A SPORT in La Push ] because when she did something reckless Edward's phantom voice thingy would come back to her, and she strived to hear it. She didn't consider giving up the proper will to live until she hit the water below and started to drown. She then thought, ah what the hell, and let herself be carried under. Until Jacob saves her, of course. SO. Concluding, Bella does not attempt suicide on purpose, thankyou. She only really thought about it when she was being pulled under by the current. As she says, something like "I hadn't actually thought about the water below when I hit it". And if she didn't try again once she was saved, she certainly wasn't desperate to end her life. I agree, but i also think her just "give up" attitude may have been because she realized there was no way to fight the current because at first she did try to keep herself above water but failed, thus why she was giving up. I also don't think anyone can really justify what makes a 'real' vampire. Yes there are legends, yes there are other stories of what is conceived to be a vampire. But it does make sense that if a vampire can live on human blood, why not that of animals? Kiriyama
Well, Vampires could probably survive without drinking blood. Its just a thirst for it. Maybe the blood tastes different from Humans to Animals? Still, I think the whole "Its not a vampire if it doesn't drink human blood" thing is because of how we normally precieve vampires to be. Every Vampire film will have them drinking human blood, its part of the Vampire myth. And I guess of what we would call "real" vampires. Dreamtongirl
Hmm, well, wouldn't all the other vampire books/movies be considered cliche then? I mean if they all follow the same myth and whatnot. Twilight could be unique because of the good vampires and due to the fact that they don't drink human blood i guess?
