Dreamtongirl
Wasn't Christopher like 15 or something when he wrote Eragon though? For that age, i think it's pretty good. He's probably much better now anyways. __ "i don't really think i'm a good person to judge whether or not a book is scary, but i wouldn't say it is, i mean, it was written around 1900." Dreamtongirl
Lol, that's reassuring then. Maybe i'll try the manga. Good English dubbing? Wow.. Don't always get that eh. Nom
Wasn't Christopher like 15 or something when he wrote Eragon though? For that age, i think it's pretty good. He's probably much better now anyways. No matter how old Paolini gets, people don't seem to get tired of the age argument. To lay the facts out in the open for anyone else who might try this: Eragon was published in 2003. The "about the author" flap says that he was nineteen. Eldest was published in 2005, making him 21. Brisingr, the third book, was just published in September of 2008. Twenty-four. He has shown no improvement whatsoever, in fact he regressed between Eragon and Eldest. So I suppose he improved over Eldest with Brisingr, but Brisingr doesn't even match Eragon, which wasn't great but not horrendous like the subsequent book. Also, it probably helped that his parents were publishers or something like that. jjrox32
Meh, I enjoyed all 3 books in the Eragon series, though I will admit Eldest was probably the worst. PS- how is this thread still going?
Dreamtongirl
Lol, we're getting so off-topic here. Funny enough. Perhaps you guys should start a thread for Eragon? I totally forgot where we were up to in the Twilight argument.. If the consensus wasn't that Stephenie Meyer is a hack author who clothes her prose in adjectives to disguise its insipid blandness, and that she is nothing more than the beneficiary of a viciously effective marketing strategy, then you lot can all hang your heads in shame and hope to hell that the ghost of Bram Stoker doesn't haunt your every waking moment for reading her awful softcore porn-[bleep]-vampire romance. I hope they don't stuff it up, I'm really hoping they'll do what i want them to do with the Italy scene. Wongtong
It's a comedy, spent about 1/2 the time laughing. So cheesy and really lame. I even had to move because I laughed so much that dreamtongirl kept hitting me in the face. The Cullens are meant to be hot right? The only guy I thought was hot was some guy in the background who didn't have a speaking part/wasn't focused on. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! I have a feeling New Moon will be better. I agree sort of with Wong. I was even cracking up laughing in some parts, and I'm a fan. >_> I have to say I liked the book alot better. The movie was far too different, they changed it too much and their relationship was really rushed. And yeah, Wongtong moved so I couldn't hit her in the face anymore about half way through. XD Hah, she was hitting on the dude in the background with super curly hair. XD I can't believe I'm admitting this, either. I liked Jacob best in that, and he was hardly in it D: & I don't even like Jake! But I didn't like Edward in the movie, he was.. Weird, in my opinion. I thought Bella was played well though, they played up the whole clumsy thing. (Y). Lenticular_J
Haha saif your post was so "FOOL OFF FAIL LOLOLOL" that I actually LOLOLOL'd. I'm not into them. I like my vampires the manly way. Either hot (a la Buffy) or awesome (a la Dracula). Every girl at my school is obsessed with it, though. Except for the ones that you'd think would be obsessed with it. They're too much of rebels to like it. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
Dreamtongirl
Well, that was amusing to read. Mmmm, I'm getting a bit iffy about more or less most girls i know becomming obsessed over it. Pssh, was a fan way before the movie. XP Movie put me off a tad. >_< But I liked Bella. And jacob. Dreamtongirl
Lmao wtf guys? XD Lenin64 - Idk, I guess everyone has their different opinions. I've only read number 4 once, so I might need to read it again. But i found the rest.. Idk just.. Not as good as the first i guess. Not sure how to explain it really. In Breaking Dawn you could see the difference in her writing, it changed sort of, and the characters changed too. I didn't like Bella in number 4 nearly as much as I liked her in Twilight. Plus they split the book into 3 bits which sucks. -.- We'll sneak out while they sleepAnd sail off in the night. We'll come clean and start over the rest of our lives. When we're gone, we'll stay gone.Out of sight, out of mind. It's not too late,We have the rest of our lives. whiteguy
Books are meh, i just finished reading Eclipse, and i'm moving on with Breaking Dawn. It was alright, not great, but i'ts very addicting, i found myself reading New Moon on a day and a half. I also saw the movie, it was really "meh" Some of the characters didn't look like i imagned. In the book, Edward is like the most angelical thing on Earth, but he's not that good on the movie, also, Jasper looked like a [bleep]ing idiot. I imagined him very different, (specially his hair) Alice was ok, as was Emmet, Edward was alright and Esme is good. But Carlisle looks nothing like i imagined it. Rosalie was very bad, she is supposedly the "most beautiful woman in the world" Worst part? That i can not imagine them like i used to because i already associated them with the movie, my imagination was so much more awesome. If there is indeed a movie on New Moon, i will see it, but i can't imagine how Jacob and the pack will look as werewolves. The effects SUCKED on the movie. The will look so....computerized...??
