redhaloguy
I'm not sure about you guys but I think our generation has gone to hell. Also stating our generation meaning mostly people from age 10-19. 20 Maybe. I'm not even sure about kids lower than that. First off, talking to other people has become into typing 4 letters and then waiting about 1 to 3 mins for a reply. Or just being on myspace/facebook/Bebo etc. Movies have become just a typical action flick. Instead of classics. Songs have been reduced to lyrics not able to be spoken to an adult without getting beat and girls dancing all over your T.V. screen waiting to grab your attention. the lyrics have just become an extra. T.V. to me, only good for news and jokes now a days. I can't find another reason why to watch. (Maybe some old shows or old movies) bye guys! i r going to txt my bud som more K? o wait Brb! Lol If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Cup Lion
Everyone sees our generation (10-19) as animals who have no moral standards and only act upon sexual instinct. Its becoming more true by the minute, with new contraceptives and ideas that casual sex is okay. I agree with what you say. |Signature by Jason321|

Rebdragon
I'm pretty sure the losers of the last generation were saying that about the people around them too. Not that you don't have a point. The Dark Lord
Most TV shows and mainstream music suck in my opinion. A lot of shows on television are tasteless repeat the same ideas over and over again. Also, most mainstream music isn't that great. They are constantly repeated across hundreds of radio stations until they become old and overrated. I've also noticed that many all-male rock bands either have that same whiny voice or that same husky voice. I tend to stay away from the TV and mainstream music. I am such an oddball when it comes to music, though. I love to listen to dance music (trance, techno, etc.) and Mozart every now and then. Even though I usually like more inspirational music, I'll listen to bands such as KMFDM from time to time. Oh and to the OP, long time no see. RayOxide
^&^again. Most of the mainstream music is just voted in by like 16 year olds who tell the radio website (if there is one) to play this song. Then all of a sudden that song turns into the whole persons album Flo Rider, Rhianna x3, etc. And when its that genre its annoying. Jaerk, 1 page 4 posts tbh ;) I dont need a siggy no moar. RichieMcD
Every generation is always viewed as having a serious lack of morals, crappy music and terrible movies. Take our grandparents era as teenagers mostly during the 40s - 50s. There was the teddyboy era, pretty similar to Chavs. A lot of them carried flick knives and tried to intimidate a lot of people. The 50's rock and roll was viewed as out of control by their parents and not many people agreed with where movies were going. Our kids will be doing worse stuff than us, we'll consider them animals mostly as well. It happens every generation.
warri0r45
I think it's true that kids are generally getting more feral, loosing respect for parents, etc. You could probably put it down to crappy parenting for the most part. This whole attitude that parents have to be friends to their kids is nonsense and needs to change. Parents are the authority figure, and should act as such. Sure, after some time the parents role as authority figure will morph into being friends, but younger kids (up to the age of 15, especially) need to be taught respect and be given boundaries. The most interesting trend these days seems to be with girls getting more violent, almost rivaling the guys. Anyone else noticed this?

Well parenting can be blamed. The parents nurturing and not wanting to yell at their kids because "It's not right." The kids then grow up thinking that they can do anything and have no respect. Another reason is parents not smacking kids. I hate that. If you do something wrong, you get smacked. Not "Tommy, stealing is wrong and you should think before you do it next time. Ok? I love you precious." Just smack the kid. They'll learn. The most interesting trend these days seems to be with girls getting more violent, almost rivaling the guys. Anyone else noticed this? Yes, random statistic but in the Irish womens prison system 28% of inmates are murderers serving life sentences while it's only something like 11% or less for men. Random statistics aside, they do seem to be getting more violent, I've noticed more and more fights happening between girls at nightclubs I'd go to or at parties. That book series has ultimatly hipnotized a large majority of teenage girls now, and i loathe it. I'v lost some people i thought were pretty good friends because they blew off hanging out with me to read the damn book. I just dont like it in general. I could write so much about it (lol) but I'll try and sum it up. It gives girls waaaaay to much of an unrealistic expectation of what a guy should be, and the fact that I was annoyed that people that i know went to go see the movie on midnight, then the next day of school they complained to the principle that school should have opened late. Its done too much to the younger generation already its just, ugh.
Nom
On a related note to Twilight, literature in general anymore is just terrible. There are some gems out there that I've been lucky to find, and Harry Potter deserves every bit of the recognition it has received and will go down in history, but the vast majority is just crap. However, I don't think this generation is unique in its general air of suckiness. You could say that music today sucks, that classic rock is better than anything today, but that simply isn't true. There was just as much crap in the 70s as there is now; the years have simply filtered the timelss stuff from the mediocre masses. The same with books, movies, trends, anything you can think of in that area. The social aspect is another matter though.
