jak722
I wanna be a tool! Or a Panda! But I hear Walmart is hiring Hobos... Might try that too. Seriously, I want to be a pilot but my poor eyesight might kill people. So im opting for something law and military related instead. KnightLite
4 possible careers in order of what i want.. 1. Professional baseball player 2. Computer Programmer 3. Singer/Musician 4. Military Translator.. How's your Iraqish? Me personally, well, I guess I'm open to suggestions. Only thing that I'm certain about is that I don't like science or math. Everything else, History, Language (I have considered translating for the military), Writing, proffessional sports ( ), Acting........I'm keeping my options open  Although really, I could probably settle for going on vacation and having someone mail me checks. If you have or know someone who has a job offer like that, lemme know 8) My Arabic Is still struggling, it's a very tough language to learn, and I'm having very little success, which is disgusting me.. - Only character in Runescape History maxed out in RSC and RS2
ice_ring
This summer I did some hospital volunteering and really liked it, got to sit in on some surgeries and watch a baby be born by c section. Now I'd really like to be a surgeon but the school is a killer. the main reason I didnt want to do it at first was the thought of all the blood, but when I was in the surgery I was fine. but before wanting to be a surgeon I kinda wanted to be an architect or movie director. My dad kinda killed the director dream by repeating "you need a good degree to fall back on then you can do what ever you want"

SHIPPOU
Just an anonymos question. Me, I would like to be a scientist or something along those lines. That or joining the air force, which I am really leaning towards. What do you want to be? What do you think you will be? Who do you think you will be like? ***If you are young*** If your not, what is your current profession? What do you wanna be? I am currently a professional plumber/pipefitter (yes I am certified) I know kids dream of being this or that, but reality is realy harsh. MY childhood fanticy was to be president (lol), which I now look at, and thinck who would ever want that stressfull job. ********** One of the old guard of RS. ____
1. Web Applications Developer 2. Network Admin Those are the main two that I'm aiming for. If that doesn't work all too well then something in Advertising or Television / entertainment wouldn't be too bad.

Tomato
Right now I'm working in the Men's Clothing Department at Hecht's as a salesman. The pay is decent, so I don't mind. After high school I hope to go to Virginia Tech and Major in Biology, then go to medical school and become some sort of doctor.
Bmw
Currently I'm at McDonalds, but hey, you've got to start somewhere. I don't know why everyone laughs when you say you work at McDonalds...I mean, I can get jobs elsewhere with a 96% average, but who cares? Its right around the corner, and has great shifts. Fine by me. I'd like to be a Computer Engineer when I get older, but I'm having second thoughts. I love the whole computer thing, love working with computers, but I hear jobs are low atm? A lot of them are out of work? I dunno... Perhaps I'll go into the business side of computers, not too sure. Either way, I want to work with computers. Whether it be programming, building, engineering, marketing, I don't care. I love almost anything to do with computers!

mad4u689
My dream is to work with chimpanzees and study their cognitive abilities. :D This would mean I could talk to chimpanzees in sign language. Washoe, here I come!! (Washoe was the first chimpanzee to be taught sign language. Roger Fouts, my hero, is working with her still today :D) If that doesn't work out, I'd like to be a mathematics teacher maybe, or an English teacher, or maybe just do neuroscience-team-development work for some chemical company. We'll see :D Everybody hug and spread the love :D

____
the thing with computer jobs is that most are under contracts...which do not guarantee security...until u get a job working for the government... That's speculation. Contract work is generally reserved for those who work for companies which create custom software solutions for clients and such similar situations. But even then you still have a full-time job working for your company. Only other option I see is just general contract work where they only need a person for a set period of time. And even then those are going for 6 months+ at a time :-? Cliffs: Contract work is generally good for people entering the field, after that getting a full-time job should not be a problem. the job market in that field is still pretty high...i mean...my dad works for contractors....usually ends up losing his job after the contract runs out...reapplies...gets a new job within a week....its mainly the security Yes the job market is very good. And see my above reply to the rest of that quote. and if u have a college diploma..ull have no problem...isnt it sad wat that piece of paper does even though more than half the people with 1 dont know that much about that field? I actually wrote an essay on that to a point. The general output in the world of jobs is: Experience + Degree > Expreience > Degree > Highschool > Nothing
Mercifull
Can I just chip in quickly and say that working for the Government isnt as great as it sounds. lol Experience + Degree > Experience > Degree > Highschool > Nothing Alas that is the category I fall into. But hopefully work are paying for me to do a part time HNC or HND pretty soon. That 2 years worth of a degree. Molishist
Well I started bagpipes awhile ago, and I really like it, so here's what I want to be: a pipe major in a pipe band, a piper in a celtic rock band, a piping instructor, a piper for weddings, a piper for funerals, possible a bagpipe maker, and pretty much anything related to bagpipes all at once. I also want to be an architect but the pipes come first.

Lordjake
When I grow up, I would like to be older :P A job that I would like to have is to work for the FBI, or an intelligence agency similar to it. I would be able to help protect my country and make a decent living out of it. I read somewhere that the FBI would be losing a large percentage of its current workforce due to elder employees retiring, so that job market hopefully will have enough room to fit me in.
