Way back when, I thought by casting low level alchemy (converts any item into gold) would turn my bronze plate into a gold plate (gilded)

Hah, a while ago when I first got my attack cape trimmed, I played with low levels a lot. One asked me where I got cape, how to trim, etc. So I told him I used butter. Yeah, just use butter with Attack Cape, and voila. He spent 20 minutes figuring out how to make butter and when he finally did, he asks me, "Now where do I get attack cape?".. he was a level 50.

I was told that there was a greater demon in the lava maze that gave you 200k if you told him a story

 

I was told that great demons in high wilderness could FLY

 

I was told that if you walk through the al-kharid gates exactly 13 times, a level 100 demon would come and attack you

 

I was told that on easter, xmas and h'ween, you could get holiday items as drops from white knights and ice giants

 

I was told that if you are lvl 100+, hitting a zero on a goblin or spider in lumbridge is still a K.O.

If you are a member, go to the impassable mountain range. Get into the fort first to get through, then keep moving. If desired, you can fight the level 110 Dragons. Keep moving and you will find Liquid Armor, which is stronger than Dragonite Armor (must have level 200 attack defense strength).

You know how everytime you buy the crystal bow from the elf people it goes slowly down in price? My friend told me that you can make a profit from that and sell it on the GE. So I recharged 3 crystal seeds from the elf people and treid to sell it on the GE. I figured out that I couldn't so waste of 2m for me. (Which was a lot for me back then). And to this day I still have those crystal bows in my bank.

Anybody else remember, about 4 years ago, the rumor where if you examined a certain camel in Al Kharid then 200k would appear in your inventory? This was back when 200k was a big deal :

You get a funny message =p use a herring on a normal tree you get "this is not the mightyest tree in the forest" (monty python) than use it on the grand tree you get " It can not be done" (also monty python) I had a good laugh when i tried it.

 

 

 

My most remembered one has to be that varrock's clothing store sold red p-hats for 100k... i saved for month's (100k is a tonne when your level 40ish) than sat at varrock clothing store for days. My mood after words is needless to say but hey i was level 40 with 100k :

 

 

 

 

 

They acutally sold red phats in the varrok store for a certain amount of time. But jagex removed it due to the masses of players trying to buy one...

Someone told me back when I was f2p that talking to all of the Al-Kharid camels would give me 100k.

I also remember hearing that 82 defense is/was much better that 99 defense. (not true of course)

 

As a matter of fact, I'm 82 Def right now. It hasn't helped any :P

(Note: This might actually be true, but I've never seen it) Back in RuneScape Classic, you could, when in a trade, offer an amount like 1000 nails and 2000 coins, and if you were standing by a wall (this is where rares were traded back the, the Varrock castle) the color of the nails would blend in with the color of the wall, making it impossible to see, and it would seem that you were offering 20001000 coins instead of 2000 coins and 1000 nails. Can someone confirm this? I think there's some truth there...

There was a red party hat, but no stock unless someone seld one.

 

 

 

But I have two rumours to add (both from my friends, I believed them of course):

 

 

 

- Jagex just added a tele-portal to Greater Ruins which teleports you to a Pokémon City :lol: (I can't understand why I believed this... it was in 2006)

 

- There are maple trees near Falador which you can chop in F2P. I went there and searched like 15 mins. I believed this because back then the woodcutting skill guide said that Maples are F2P.

There have been two well-known rumors in RuneScape, which old school players may remember.

 

 

 

1. The black party hat - there used to be many claims that a black party hat existed, Although Jagex staff have confirmed that it doesn't exist, some people will claim to have seen one.

 

 

 

2. Paul Gower's weed farm - a long time ago, before herblore was released, a well-known player named Fook A Ji claimed that using a sapphire with a certain tree would teleport the player to Paul Gower's weed farm. A lot of people believed it and tried to find the farm. It's mostly an inside joke for Tip.It users now.

 

 

 

Ahh, good times bro!

 

 

 

I remember trying to look for Mr.Gower's weed farm. Fun, wasn't it? =p

 

 

 

Also, I remember that if you filled a bucket full with water from the Varrock fountain,

 

it would turn into a coin and you could repeat as many times as you want. :P
