Interesting but I find it's easier to simply click on "submit" as it's clearly visible to me when I'm typing.

Somehow scrolling down to press submit seems more convenient than this, but I guess it works :D

If it doesn't work for some of you and you're on the Firefox browser, don't fret!

 

 

 

Open up a new Window/Tab and type about:config in the address bar.

 

In the Filter bar type: ui.key.contentAccess and press enter.

 

Double click the item and change the value from 5 to 4.

 

 

 

That is all. Best thing is, changing that value doesn't alter anything else at all, just makes Alt + S an option. :

And I think Ecofish's idea is good, that way it can stay open.

It doesn't end at shortcuts- Here are two Firefox addons (Requires the Greasemonkey FF extension) that are awesome, in fact I'm using the quick reply right now:

There, I turned your posting world upside down. The quick edit is extremely useful for moderators with little time.

 

 

 

By the way, neither of these work in styles based on subsilver2, only prosilver based ones (Tip.it has prosilver and TIFBlack).

I was just pressing alt+s and it kept bringing up my history sidebar. I was like wtf.

Just write your message and quickly press tab twice, then space(or enter), try it.. Much faster and fluent, I used it for years on forums, should work on every browser because it actually presses the submit

At this rate I shall no longer need my computer mouse :D

It doesn't work for me... Ah well, it doesn't take much effort to scroll down and click the button.
