What's the nicest thing you've done for someone?

Featured Replies

What's the nicest thing you've done for someone? It doesn't necessarily have to be for a human, though that will undoubtly be the most common.

Me? I, uhh... buy stuff for people alot because of the excessive amounts of money my parents give me, but nothing I've done is worthy of much recognition. I hope you all will have something different to say. ;)

Nice idea for a topic.

I sat here for a while thinking but I can't think of anything :uhh: maybe I should think about this more often. :|

gave a girl a nice hug after an incident with her friends. after that, we had a short conversation and pretty much never saw her again.

It's probably not the nicest thing I've ever done, but it's the only notably nice think that I can think of off the top of my head. One of my freinds had been filmed -- it was a game, but he went to far to get attention -- kissing another boy. Everyone (well, almost everyone) was making fun of him about it, but I told them that he wasn't [blocked?], and that even if he was, I wouldn't care.

It's funny how I'm actualy more inclined to be kind to people when a whole crowd of people are sadistically persecuting them, since for most people, it's the other way round. If I was the only one who knew, I would probably have teased him about it, though not to the extent that they were doing.

If absolute power corrupts absolutely, where does that leave God?

Haven't gotten the chance to, besides the mundane 'nice things'.

The most epic I've gotten is a couple of those 'get out from in front of that car!' shoves. Then again, that's more of an obligation than a 'nice thing'. Maybe a few times when I stopped some harassment from a gang of idiots.

Sometimes I catch myself wishing for a terrible situation that I could resolve--after which I slap myself and get back to work.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

Changed hundreds of lives and have never asked for any recognition nor expected any thank yous.

Nothing spectacular to be honest. Open a door here, give a direction to George street there. All with a smile and a "have a nice day". I just find being nice is a nice thing to do. Positivity breeds positivity.

I like to think of myself as generally a nice person

I always try and make things nicer for other people ahead of me, and i always get upset when i see other people in worse positions than me

I spent my whole day yesterday trying to make sure everyone had a nice day ahead of mine, though luckily i had an owsome day too :)

Probably one of the nicest things ive done was walking around sainsbury's having to shop with an old lady cus she couldn't reach anything on the top shelves, even if i did get some odd looks 8-)

daily, all 5 sites (or 6).

Though I'm getting some strange thoughts about it recently, as whether we are really funding the mandatory things, not some maniacal army research.

And yeah, all those nice things like opening doors, cheering up and treating everyone on a level of "good". I too once helped an old lady in a grocery store to bring her something that was on a top shelf =D

Idk, I'm trying to be nice, since we have got too much arrogant jackasses nowadays.

That's all it takes Warri0r. Your act of kindness spreads like a butterfly effect. The more little things you do, the more people will follow your example. You will never truly know where that one positive comment or gesture may end. Something you've said might be heard by one person who then passes it on to two others etc and so it creates a ripple of positivity. I have no doubt this will then be passed on to your children who will then pass it on to the people they know and to their children. A critical mass of invisible numbers always starts with one person.

The value of consistent understanding is not that anyone will hear us, but that we will become a better person.

I can leave good impressions on small kids way easier than on teenagers and older.

Hopefully I don't sound like a massive [wagon], but your signature is doing nothing but boasting about helping people, and I consider boasting seeking recognition.

Anyway, nothing comes to mind for me right at this point. But at schoolies, I couldn't work the atm cause I was too drunk and the girl behind me helped me. And she didn't even take my money. So yeah, I consider that a nice thing that makes the world a positive place.

I helped my gf get through her *crisis*. :D

I'm not a generally nice person and frankly idc. Negativity brings negativity.

I say bring it on.

Hello friend, Senajitkaushik was epic, Good luck bro.

Hopefully I don't sound like a massive [wagon], but your signature is doing nothing but boasting about helping people, and I consider boasting seeking recognition.

The purpose of my signature has nothing to do with boasting or recognition. This is your own perception which is currently and ironically contributing to the least nicest thing you've done for someone.

If this is the worst thing I've done then I'd be pretty happy with that. Honestly I'm surprised that your taking this to heart.

Ehhhh, not much. I always stick up for my friends in a fight to the point where I've been hurt pretty badly and had run ins with the cops so ye, that's nice enough.

I'd do anything for my friends so I suppose that could lead to some nice things.

I'd do anything for my friends

I feel for you.

You're really not grasping the concept of perception. Seriously, grab a dictionary or something :wall:

Megakiller32 - You've said lots of nice things to people!! And I don't think you're an [wagon].

That and I always try to make cashiers smile (they always look so bored).

I honestly try to be nice to everyone, except those who do not deserve it, like douchebags. There's no reasoning with them. There's this one girl I like, and I've listened to a lot of stuff she's said, and frankly, she's the only one for a long while who's listened to me.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.

Its a physiological fact that almost all charity work is done by the volunteer to gain in some way, whether it be to reassure oneself that your a "good person" to becoming "great"; selflessness is almost nonexistent.

Probably not the nicest thing, but I can't think atm. Hmm, well when I was 7-8 I found a fifty dollar bill in a grocery store, brought it to the desk and no one claimed it. So I was able to keep it, then on the way home from the grocery store I saw a hobo with his dog at a red light walking by the car, I rolled down my window and gave it to him. I forget what he said.

Another one when I was little and went to Mexico, we were staying with a poor family for about a month. All they ate were beans and rice, we ate meat once that month as a special occasion (you get the picture they're REALLY poor). So before we left, and was saying goodbye to the little boy I had made friends with, I gave him all my toys(like a whole backpack full), which were all the toys I had pretty much(including a gameboy), because I felt bad that he didn't have any.

Side note: I HATED THE MOVIE PAY-IT-FORWARD!

I don't know if I have done anything nice.
