Did something bad related to sex happen to you to a child, or did your priest bang it into your head that sex is evil and to be avoided? Our sexuality is an important part of our humanness. Slandering it like this... I can't even begin to comprehend what kind of childhood you must of had to have this sad dogma. Either way, this subject is too subjective to argue; no amount of empirical data can prove or disprove either side (considering the sheer lack of qualitativeness of this topic). I say you're greatly overestimating the problems that arise due to sex (9/10?) and blinding yourself to how great it is for people and their relationships. You say it's the root of much evil. I say that it's not, and that everything can cause both good and bad things. You say that the bad outweighs the good. This goes nowhere. All I can really say is, if you think sex is so evil, and if you are in any way and honorable and virtuous man, have fun without it :| . I have to say, debating this with you is quite fun :). I wish we disagreed more often. You're right, the topic is much to subjective for either of us to really win this argument. And maybe i am overestimating the negativity of the situation. But for the record 1: I believe I am a decent guy, but I doubt I'll ever have fun again unless I'm in a sexually based relationship with someone. And 2: No I don't believe I've ever personally encountered anything in my life where sex was portrayed as something atrocious (ie. child molestration). It's just something I've picked up from observation. And 3: I have no priest. I'm a reformed (bordering conservative) jew. I barely ever speak to my rabbi, and the only thing we ever learned in hebrew school (the equivilent of sunday school) was how to read the language, as well as certain ceremonial purposes. I also took a hebrew school class about famous jews/art/...etc. my point is, religion has nothing to do with my argument against sex as religion's role in my life never even addresssed sex. More than anything my actions are to make my ancestors proud that I bare their name. That's where I get most of my reasoning/morals. It's possible for a situation to exist where a feather kills thousands of people. I'm speaking on a very general level of course though. More often than not, nuclear bombs are dangerous. More often than not, feathers are not. You people are taking my words far too far... I was just commenting on the way he worded it: "In no way is it bad." My point was that there are ways it can be bad. Generally, I don't think it's bad but that's not to say that no negative results come out of it. I was actually joking, realized when i read that it does sound like I was trying to make a points oops :shock: . Sorry about the misunderstanding I need to be more careful with wording lol. It could also be considered as a "grown up" thing to do. Being naked is connected with sex, which unless its your wife/husband, its bad. I think the idea of sex only after marriage is crap. I don't understand why you would marry someone knowing there's a chance you two aren't sexually compatible or can't fulfill each others' needs in that aspect. Sure you can have the rest of it covered but sex is fairly important in relationships. What? This is organized religion! It doesn't have to make sense! Just asking because im sure there are a few things that could be used and I have a weird curiosity since I have heard those ages before. Sex is a really good thing when two people are using it to show how much they love each other or to start a family. I wouldn't even consider porn as a bad thing. They are consenting adults after all.
