BabyPunchers
The Grand Exchange was one of the best updates for Slayers like myself. The ability to stick alchable items, like rune, in the G.E. made being on Lunar have almost no drawback. D Jay99
I absolutely love the grand exchange, no more standing around for aaaages trying to buy an item. The price manipulators don't really affect me, and I never had the urge to give stuff away. Couldn't be better for me :D

The price manipulators don't really affect me, and I never had the urge to give stuff away. Couldn't be better for me :D This is about the trade limit not GE. GE=November 2007 Trade limit=January 2008 Most people seem to see the GE is the first part of the Trade limit update, and then the actual limit as the second part. Honestly not many people used the GE before the trade limit was in place so it wasn't widely used when first introduced. So the effects of the GE are somewhat the same effects of the trade limit(not really the way I wanted to word it but, meh). The trade limit was a rough update for me at first, because I'm so used to helping out friends(and also being helped) through donations and such when working towards big goals. But I've gotten used to it so that's about the only thing it's changed for me. I also used to merchant a bit as part of my source of income but I've stopped that since the introduction of the trade limit. I still make money just fine so it hasn't stopped me from being able to do that. Pirate Rosetta stone. Randox
I saved at least 24 hourse of trying to trade in worlds 1 through 7, effectively making the year at least one day longer. And I am not a merchant by a long shot. I no longer need to gather big round numbers of things to sell. On the downside I can't charge a premium for gathering large ammounts of resorces, but then I never have been one to do that anyways so it makes no difference. The GE is possibly my favorite thing from 2008.
Toad
well, firstly its glad to go somewhere without being surrounded with bots, admire jagex for risking the loss of so many customers by doing the move, but overall its made me more money than i used to have, i think i lost about 40m through dieng, but it hasnt effected me really, the caps only really there for people at godwars and things trading pots, so i think it doesnt really need to be raised anymore
Forerunner
Every one complained for a while (I decided to hop on the wagon  ) but we all eventually learned to suck it up. There are some narbs who are still thinking of rioting though.. I remember a massive F2P riot, I think the uniform was a pink skirt.. The day the mods were useless.. lawl. Before I get off topic. It didn't really affect me. I only started selling items after the GE came out, so the trade limit didn't affect me merchant-wise. & I only start borrowing/lending after the Lending feature was released, so I've never had trouble managing with the limits. Only fear God,Know the weapons of the weak,The weakness of the hard. AdamMonkey0
In my honest opinion, the trade system has only effected me once. I was trying to give away some iron bars, but the trade limit wouldnt let me. For the most part, I havent really cared much for it. The fact that you can do price checks with it is great and ya... Also, the only think I don't like about it was that it was chosen to be changed by quests. I see how it works and it makes sence, but total level would probably be easier for non-questers. (Skillers wouldn't benifit as much compared to Non-questers)
sees_all1
The limits seriously made F2P crafting a [female dog]. I could buy uncuts for a fraction of what they were worth... saphs for 50, ems for 100, rubies for 500, and diamonds for 1k - made training to 50 crafting a cheap breeze. miracleman58
Grand exchange came before the Trade limit... Personally i real do hate the limit for three reasons: 1) I dont care if people are rich because they want to spend real life money on pixels personally they are just stupid imo. 2) I made over 20m In a 2 week break at DKs with my clan mates which i did trust we used to do 4/5 man trips and kill all of the kings, im sure many of you remember doing this and sharing all the drops gained. Well since the trade update, Yes 1 year ago i have sucsesfully gained 3.3m from monster hunting - first day of CS bandos chest. (I did do over 15 sara GWD trip to no prevail but i gave up then lol). So yeah trade limit ruined my monster hunting days and pretty much my clan, it crumbled after the limit because we were a monsterhunting clan. :ohnoes: 3) I like presents  1593th to 99 Farming - July 08. I don't use it in combat, but it sits in my bank and I still keep it safe because it's the thought that counts. This thread was asking about how the trade limit has affected people and this man here is simply telling HOW it affected him. He probably realizes that it saved Runescape, but it still affects him. In my case, the trade limitations were surprisingly deal able. Oh, sure, due to faulty pricing and general design flaws, some items are hard/impossible to obtain through the G.E., and it HAS caused more flame wars amongst the community aside from the removal of PKing, but, day to day, I really haven't noticed it. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Derrick44444
Well the trade limits were pretty much a must with the bots. The item lending option put pretty much any flaw (IMO) to rest. Star_Fox
1. it stopped scamming and luring. thats a BIG plus. 2. it stopped bots. another huge plus. 3. introduced updates. coinshare, grand exchange, etc. etc. if you're still ranting about the past, get over it or just stop playing completely. we don't need these topics to remind us every year that your wilderness or whatever that you cared for was taken away. if you don't like it, change it, if you can't change it, then change your attitude, don't complain.
